The Psychological Effect of the Star Strategy on the Reading Awareness of Middle First Grade Students
This study aimed to identify the effect of the star strategy on the reading awareness of the female students of the first intermediate grade in Iraq. And an experimental group of (43) students who studied the same topics and texts using the star strategy. The researchers used a Quranic awareness test consisting of (25) items distributed over four reading awareness skills (planning, organization, and evaluation).
Including three alternatives, and preparing a language ability test consisting of (20) items containing four alternatives. The researchers applied the two tools to the two research groups after the end of the eight-week experiment, and the same researchers taught the two research groups
The researchers used the following statistical analysis methods: the spss statistical bag, the second test for two independent samples, the chi-square (K2), the Pearson correlation coefficient, the equation for the coefficient of difficulty and discrimination, and the equation for the effectiveness of false (camouflaged) alternatives. After analyzing the results statistically, the researchers concluded: There are statistically significant differences. In reading awareness, the experimental group that studied reading topics and texts reconciled with the star strategy, and they also recommended the use of the star strategy in teaching reading and texts, developing reading skills in reading, conversation, and all cognitive and reading topics, and using classical Arabic in teaching the branches of the Arabic language in general . The two researchers also suggested conducting a study similar to knowing the effect of using the star strategy in other subjects of the Arabic language, such as rhetoric and the history of literature, and at different academic stages, and conducting another study to know the effect of the star strategy on other variables such as: linguistic awareness, rapid reading skills, and semantics
REIT: A Regulation Framework to Educate and Engage Investors, Improves Trust Ability, Creative Thinking and Transparency
Purpose: This study focuses to understand the Investor’s perception about REITs , REIT provides all the solution to the worries of investors and provide a frame work to educate and engage investors, improve their trust and build transparency . So that they can change their perception that how this underutilised instrument can gain popularity in country as it does in other leading economies.
Design/Methodology/Approach: This study\u27s sample design is convenience sampling, and the research design is descriptive. The sample size for this study is 41 and the sample frame is all types of investors in Country. A systematic questionnaire will be used to gather the main source of data. Utilising statistical methods, the data gathered by the questionnaire will be examined.
Findings: The results of the study indicate that there is a positive perception amongst the investors in Country regarding REITs, however the study found that the performance of REITs in Country has been promising, with consistent growth in the past few years, and it is expected to continue in the future.
Practical Implications: The study\u27s conclusions can help investors, financial institutions, and governments better understand REITs and their expansion in Country. This study may also aid in educating Countryn investors about REITs.
Social Implications: This study can have a significant impact on the Countryn economy as with more awareness in the field of REITs, small scale investors or people with low capital can invest in Countryn Real estate through REITs and help in growth of real estate sector and can be a key role in the growth of the real estate sector.
Originality/Value: This study is original and valuable as it sheds light on the Countryn investors’ perception about REITs. By highlighting the elements that affect investors\u27 perceptions of Countryn REITs, it also adds to the body of current material
A Study of Changes in Socio-Political, Psychological and Cultural Aspects of Tribal towards Acceptance of Modernization Methods and Tools
The emergence of digital and social media platforms and latest technologies and tools have transformed the media landscape and media consumption patterns but television still holds sway among the media consumers. The invention of advanced technologies including DTH and digital enabled services helped the television to surpass typical geographic boundaries but still the receptivity of content of television among the viewers varies significantly. The television is not only omnipresent medium but an agent of modernization. However, the discourse of modernization disseminated by television, in terms of psychic mobility in all spheres of life of public came with some cognitive dissonance as discussed by several media scholars. The present paper intends to explore the impact of television and television viewing of the tribal community of Lahaul and Spiti of Himachal Pradesh. The study also explores the changes brought by television in terms of a modernizing agent among tribals, bring changes in socio-political, psychological and cultural aspects. A questionnaire was administered among the sample population, selected by using the purposive sampling technique of data collection from the villages of Lahaul and Spiti. The analysis of the gathered data is done by using Chi-square and cross tabulation analysis techniques
Amalgamating Happiness to Learning - Through Games
Life is as realistic as one perceives. The difference between perception and reality is a tough analysis of all our educational achievements. As children, we were happy in every condition we lived enjoying the company of friends - relatives invariable of the circumstances playing, and corroborating. Along with the happiness,games also taught us many life skills which were absorbed and incorporated implicitly but realised their acquisition only after putting them to use. The happiness of playing gamesamalgamated with learning can help the teachers lays the foundation for learning to learn, create interest in the concepts along with imparting important life skills inculcating the habit of learning from any and every situation paving the way for lifelong learning. Games enhance decision-making abilities, inquisitiveness, practicability, and reasoning ability to be a part of the thought process. Incorporating the concepts of the curriculum into games enthusiasts’ students’ learning along with sharpening their abilities on the subject matter. “Happy to be learning and learning to be happy” - should become the motto of schooling
Electronic Addiction among Kindergarten Children: A Psychological Study
This research aims to investigate electronic addiction among kindergarten children, and the significance of the differences in addiction levels based on gender, kindergarten type, and mother\u27s profession. The researcher developed an electronic addiction scale based on Young\u27s theory and administered it to a random sample of mothers of children attending government and private kindergartens in Baghdad\u27s six districts. The study employed statistical analysis tools to analyze the data, including analysis of variance, t-tests, standard deviation, arithmetic mean and Cronbach\u27s alpha equation. The findings reveal that the sample had low levels of electronic addiction. However, there were significant differences in addiction levels based on gender, with females having higher addiction levels, kindergarten type, with private kindergarten showing higher addiction levels, and mother\u27s profession, with working mothers exhibiting more addiction than housewives
Student Teaching Field Experiences of Cooperating Teachers in the Selected Public Elementary and Secondary Schools in the Philippines: Psychological Insights for Innovating Teacher Education Programs
The study aimed to determine the student teaching field experiences of cooperating teachers in public elementary and secondary schools in Samar Island, Philippines using the descriptive-assessment method of research. This study delved on the cooperating teachers’ student teaching field experiences in the following, to wit: role as cooperating teacher, planning instruction, teaching, school-community relations, teaching profession, and evaluation of students’ performance. Factors associated to the implementation to the student teaching program in the public elementary and secondary schools had been sought. The findings revealed that five (5) aspects (role as cooperating teachers, planning instruction, teaching, teaching profession and evaluation of students’ performance) had been perceived with very relevant ratings; while school-community relations was only relevant. The cooperating teachers themselves, student teachers, school heads, and student teaching personnel were unanimous in their perceptions of the student teaching field experiences of the cooperating teachers. Findings of the revealed that there was no significant relationship between the student teaching field experiences of cooperating teachers in the public elementary and secondary schools and their profile except in age only. When taken singly, however, age manifested highly significant relationship with planning instruction and evaluation of student performance, and significant relationship with number of attendance to relevant trainings and highest educational attainment. This implied that the younger the cooperating teachers would be the more that they would be dynamic, creative and enthusiastic in their dealing with the student teachers. Several factors had been rated as very highly associated by the four groups of respondents to be very highly associated to the implementation of student teaching program in the public elementary and secondary schools which were the following: giving the student teachers the chance to work under experienced teachers who act as mentors; an providing student teachers with authentic hand-on experience in teaching and developing the skills to understand differences of learners. All these could enhance the knowledge and skills of the student teachers and improve the student teaching program in the public elementary and secondary schools
Evaluating the Metacognitive Strategies of Selected College Students in a Higher Education Institution in Cavite, Philippines: A Psychological Perspective
Background: One of the most fundamental ways that reflective activity helps learning in general is through encouraging metacognition. In this study, learning is referred to as metacognition, which is the awareness of one\u27s own cognitive processes.
Purpose: The research objective of the study was to determine the metacognitive strategies of colleges students in one higher education institution in Cavite, Philippines. In terms of motivation, planning and organizing your work, collaborating with others and utilizing resources and feedback, managing the stress associated with schoolwork, taking notes and reading, and preparing assignments and projects, it sought to ascertain the levels of metacognitive strategies used by students.
Design/Methodology/Approach: The research demonstrated the value of these metacognitive strategies by assessing the levels of metacognition of the college students based on their own experiences, perspectives, or outlook. These 25 students were the respondents of this study in Emilio Aguinaldo College – Cavite. They were all taking up Teacher Education in SY-2020-2021.
Findings: Majority of the student respondents apply self-motivation at work and some of them are easily distracted that makes them feel uncomfortable to perform the tasks. The findings reveal that despite some slight lapses on their side throughout the pandemic, students at this college were capable of dealing with the hardships and continue to learn. The topics were employed to help them better their learning and prepare for a future career as educators.
Research Limitations: This study is limited only to the intent of improving the metacognitive strategies of college students in one higher education institutions in the Philippines. It focused on the education students’ assessment on their levels of metacognition based on their own perspectives.
Originality/Value: This study is unique since it focused mainly on the metacognitive strategies of selected Education major students in one higher education institution in the Philippines
A Tale of Three Countries in Southeast Asia: How Did Coronavirus Anxiety Impact Mental Health?
Introduction: COVID-19 has impacted individuals from all nations, continents, races, and socioeconomic classes. However, emerging countries in Southeast Asia may have trouble during this time due to a lack of resources because of their high population densities. A few studies conducted in three Southeast Asian countries—Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia—found signs of moderate to severe anxiety. It is predicted that it could have an effect on mental health as the pandemic progress.
Objectives: This study aims to understand the relationship between anxiety caused by the Coronavirus among people in the three Southeast Asia Countries with their mental health.
Methods: Using convenience sampling in quantitative methods, data were collected by administering an online questionnaire to people among the age of 18 and above who lived in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines. Coronavirus anxiety measured using the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (CAS). Whereas, mental health measured using The Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF). The analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis and linear regression.
Results: 514 people from Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia participated in this study. Current study shows significant relationship between coronavirus anxiety and mental health. However only 6.4% of the variance of mental health can be explained by coronavirus anxiety, while 93.6% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.
Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between coronavirus anxiety and mental health, however the relationship between them was low
Employability and Psychological Study of the BSIT Graduates of CPSU – Main Campus: Basis for Curriculum Enhancement
Tracer studies are an effective instrument for documenting the employment characteristics, the transition to employment, and the satisfaction of the 2016–2018 CPSU– BSIT graduates with their employment position. This study investigated whether the bachelor\u27s degree programs in information technology offered are still efficient, sufficient, and pertinent. The study utilized descriptive research. It took place in the Central Philippines State University\u27s College of Computer Studies in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. One hundred seventy (170) alumni responded to the online and f2f survey for 2016, 2017, and 2018 using the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) standardized survey questionnaire. It was found that most of the respondents were employed; had a regular tenurial status; worked in private companies or organizations; had a waiting time of three (3) months and below; and worked locally. Respondents suggested improving the college of physical plants and facilities to be prioritized. Establishing an online alumni portal was also recommended to ensure a strong partnership between the graduates and the University
Post-Surgical Complications of the Elderly Patient with Total Hip Arthroplasty at the Hospital San Juan
Background: Arthroplasty is a treatment for terminal osteoarthritis that frequently affects elderly patients who would be a non-modifiable risk factor. Objective: To analyze the post-surgical complications of the elderly patient with total hip arthroplasty at the San Juan Hospital. Method: This was a retrospective descriptive cohort study with a sample of 140 surgical patients. Results: In the study carried out, it showed us that 59.28% of female patients are the ones who have been mostly operated on for a Hip Arthroplasty, in the same way a considerable increase of 65.71% was obtained in the right site. Conclusion: In the elderly patient with Hip Arthroplasty, the aim is to obtain an optimal and timely recovery for the patient, together with family members, and which in turn will improve their quality of life
