"Building Resilient Economies: Women’s Empowerment Via Self-Help Groups And Financial Health"

    No full text
This study investigates the relationship between Self-Help Groups (SHGs), women\u27s participation, bank health, and their combined contribution to building a self-reliant economy. Analysing data from India (2011-2022), the research reveals a significant growth in SHGs, particularly those with high women\u27s participation. This expansion coincides with increased loan disbursements, highlighting the role of SHGs in financial inclusion. However, rising Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) point towards potential financial stress within SHGs. Regression analysis suggests that while the mere presence of SHGs isn\u27t statistically significant for economic outcomes, factors like loan distribution and women\u27s participation rate are positively correlated. Interestingly, the impact of loan outstanding on economic outcomes appears insignificant. The positive association between NPAs and economic outcomes presents a complex scenario, warranting further investigation into the financial health of SHGs. Overall, the findings emphasize the multifaceted approach needed to achieve sustainable women\u27s empowerment and economic self-reliance. It underscores the importance of promoting women\u27s active participation in SHGs, alongside robust banking practices and responsible management of NPAs. This holistic approach can contribute significantly to building a self-reliant economy

Using green packaging for a product is the primary achievement of adopting a green concept. Green practices, such as green packaging, have grown in importance for businesses and consumers globally as environmental concerns have increased. The goal of this study was to determine the critical elements that genuinely contribute to the propensity of Indian customers to purchase green packed FMCG product, such as wallet tissue, crisps, and mini-packs of shampoo. Five (5) qualities in all have been selected for the study based on prior research and fieldwork. A self-structured questionnaire was used for the survey, and 150 respondents who utilize green packaging were chosen using the convenience sample method. The validity, regression, correlation, and reliability of this study have all been examined help of SPSS. According to the study\u27s findings, consumers\u27 purchase intentions for green packaged convenience items—such as mini-packs of shampoo, chips, and wallet tissue—are positively impacted by the variables known as environment concern, environmental knowledge of green packaging, green trust, and availability. However, when it comes to mini-packs of shampoo, chips, and wallet tissue, customers\u27 purchase intentions for green packaged convenience goods are negatively impacted by the variable known as pricing. The findings are important for Indian marketers, product and package designers, and national policymakers in developing effective and persuasive marketing plans for environmentally friendly packaging that speaks to customers\u27 subconscious demands

A Comprehensive Analysis of Social Work Interventions within the Framework of Ideology, Public Policy, and Good Governance

    No full text
Social work interventions are guided by ideological principles that emphasize social justice, equity, and human rights. These interventions operate within a framework shaped by political ideologies, public policies, and governance structures. This paper explores the intricate relationship between these elements to assess their influence on the effectiveness of social work in addressing systemic inequalities and promoting social justice. Political ideologies significantly impact how social work is practiced. Progressive ideologies advocate for systemic change and state-led welfare programs, while conservative and neoliberal ideologies emphasize individual responsibility and market-based solutions. Public policies reflecting these ideologies provide the structural foundation for social work interventions, determining their scope, resources, and target populations. Policies related to healthcare, education, and social welfare not only reflect societal values but also shape the strategies social workers employ to support marginalized groups. Governance plays a pivotal role in translating policies into action. Good governance, characterized by accountability, transparency, and community participation, ensures the effective implementation of social work interventions. Participatory governance, in particular, empowers communities and enhances the responsiveness of policies to local needs. The paper also draws on key works, including Mark Freeman’s analysis of social work and political ideologies, Amartya Sen’s practical approach to justice, and John Rawls’ philosophical framework of “justice as fairness.” These perspectives highlight the interconnectedness of ideology, policy, and governance in shaping social work practice. By examining these interrelations, this study underscores the need for social workers to navigate ideological influences, advocate for policy reforms, and engage in governance processes to foster meaningful social change. A nuanced understanding of these dynamics enhances the capacity of social work to address contemporary social challenges, ensuring empowerment and justice for marginalized communities

Efficacy Of Mri In Diagnosis, Staging, And Treatment Response Assessment Of Carcinoma Cervix: A Comprehensive Study

All female genital cancers in India have cervical carcinoma as their primary form with incidence rates between 86-90%. The proper evaluation of disease spread together with staging serves as an essential requirement for managing cervical cancer cases. The previous staging procedures including cystoscopy and sigmoidoscopy and pelvic examination yielded insufficient data about the disease. Medical imaging specialists have chosen MRI together with CT as their preferred strategy for cervical cancer clinical staging. The evaluation of disease stage and spread requires the most accurate imaging technique to be MRI. A research investigation sought to assess whether MRI delivered adequate results when detecting and grading cervical cancer. There were 90 cases of newly diagnosed and confirmed histopathologically uterine cervical carcinoma which received chemoradiotherapy before inclusion into this study. The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging system was used for tumor assessment on MRI examinations. A 1.5 Tesla magnet served for pelvic MRI examinations of all participants. Newly diagnosed cervical cancer proved to have suspicious masses in 86.84% of cases while recurrent cancer showed these masses in 80.7% of cases. The diagnostic accuracy in new cases reached 89.82% and calculated with sensitivity at 90.20% along with specificity at 18% and PPV at 93.14% while NPV arrived at 95.45%. The diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) for recurrent cases were reported at 68.54% while sensitivity reached 91% and specificity reached 42% and PPV reached 72.36% alongside NPV reaching 76%. The superior diagnosis of tumor staging and disease extent along with treatment response evaluation in cervical carcinoma is achieved through MR imaging technology which demonstrates better results than clinical examination

Another concept developed in the study is the concept, history, major properties, uses as well as the need of self-help groups, and the major barriers which may be faced by these organizations

Aetiopathological Perspectives On Gridhrasi W.S.R. To Sciatica And The Therapeutic Potential Of Vitex Negundo: A Comprehensive Review

    Get PDF
Background: Gridhrasi, described in Ayurveda as a Nanatmaja Vata Vyadhi, presents with radiating pain, stiffness, and functional limitation of the lower limb, closely resembling the modern clinical entity of sciatica. Its pathogenesis is rooted in Vata aggravation, often associated with Kapha vitiation, leading to Srotorodha (channel obstruction) and nerve compression. In modern pathology, sciatica commonly results from intervertebral disc herniation, degenerative changes, or spinal canal stenosis, causing irritation of the lumbosacral nerve roots. Vitex negundo (Nirgundi), widely referenced in classical Ayurvedic literature, exhibits Vata–Kapha Shamana, Shothahara, and Vedanasthapana properties, aligning with the therapeutic needs in Gridhrasi. Aim To explore the aetiopathology of Gridhrasi with special reference to sciatica and to assess the therapeutic potential of Vitex negundo in its management. Objectives To review Gridhrasi from Ayurvedic and modern perspectives. To analyze the aetiopathogenesis (Samprapti) of Gridhrasi and its correlation with sciatica. To compile classical and modern literature on Vitex negundo. To evaluate pharmacological evidence supporting Vitex negundo in neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. Materials and Methods: An extensive review of classical Ayurvedic texts including Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya was conducted for descriptions of Gridhrasi and Nirgundi. Modern literature was reviewed from indexed medical journals, pharmacognosy sources, and phytopharmacological studies. Data were synthesized to compare pathophysiological mechanisms and therapeutic approaches, with special emphasis on phytoconstituents, pharmacological actions, and experimental evidence supporting Vitex negundo in neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Results: Ayurvedic literature attributes Gridhrasi to aggravated Vata, sometimes in association with Kapha, producing Ruk, Toda, Stambha, and Spandana. Modern correlates show compression-induced inflammation and neuropathic pain mechanisms. Vitex negundo contains flavonoids, iridoid glycosides, and essential oils that demonstrate anti-inflammatory, analgesic, muscle relaxant, and neuroprotective effects in preclinical and clinical studies. Topical and internal formulations of Nirgundi have shown symptom relief in pain, stiffness, and mobility restriction, with minimal adverse effects. Conclusion: The aetiopathogenesis of Gridhrasi shares significant conceptual parallels with sciatica, enabling integrative understanding and treatment strategies. Vitex negundo, supported by both Ayurvedic indications and modern pharmacology, holds promise as a safe, multi-targeted therapeutic in the management of Gridhrasi. Further high-quality clinical trials are warranted to establish standardized dosage forms and protocols

E-commerce growth and its impact on families and children

    Get PDF
The rapid growth of e-commerce has transformed patterns of consumption worldwide; however, its implications for family dynamics and child development remain underexplored. This study examines the relationship between household e-commerce exposure, family functioning, and child emotional and behavioral outcomes, with particular attention to parental mediation and developmental diversity. Using a cross-sectional quantitative design, data were collected from 100 parents or caregivers of children aged 6–16 years. Measures assessed household e-commerce engagement, children’s exposure to digital commercial cues, parental stress, family interaction quality, parental mediation practices, and child developmental outcomes, including emotional regulation, impulsivity, and attention-related difficulties. The findings indicate that higher levels of e-commerce exposure are associated with increased parental stress and greater developmental risk in children. Children with developmental diversities exhibited heightened vulnerability to these effects, despite comparable exposure levels. Parental mediation emerged as a protective factor, demonstrating associations with reduced parental stress and lower child developmental risk, although it did not fully buffer exposure-related effects. These results suggest that e-commerce functions as a psychosocial environmental factor influencing family regulation processes rather than merely a mode of economic exchange. The study highlights the importance of integrating digital consumption contexts into family-based therapeutic frameworks, such as ReAttach Therapy, and underscores the need for child-sensitive approaches to digital commerce in supporting family and developmental well-being
