Influence of Parents on the Decision of Career Aspirations of Children of Police Employees
In the current era of globalization, employment has become more competitive. Even in India, where there is a substantial youth population, the rivalry for employment is intensifying. Under these circumstances, a significant proportion of educated children in the workforce are experiencing depression, particularly among the offspring of employees, where the prevalence of this condition has risen. The present study aims to study the influence of parents on the decision of career aspirations of children of police employees. Both primary and secondary sources of data were utilized to obtain the information. To collect primary data 40 respondents were selected. Respondents residing in police quarters of Adugudi, Bengaluru were by using simple random sampling method. Present study reveals that there is an increase in psychological stress for the academic performance of the children of police employees
Literary Echoes: Ethno-Political and Spiritual Narratives in Indian Mountain Music
The research dwells into a literary exploration of mountain music from India, analysing its ethno-political and spiritual dimensions through the lens of narrative theory, cultural studies, and ethnomusicology. Drawing on Barthes\u27 Death of the Author concept, the study treats the listener as the primary interpreter of the musical texts, emphasizing the multiplicity of meanings in mountain songs. The concept of intertextuality, rooted in Barthes’ notion of a "tissue of quotations," is employed to examine the relationship between these songs and regional spiritual traditions. Additionally, semiotic analysis uncovers the symbolic elements embedded in the melodies and lyrics.
The paper also delves into the historical and political roles of mountain music, using Subaltern Studies and oral tradition to explore how these songs serve as vehicles for the expression of marginalized voices. The Natyashastra is referenced to connect the spiritual and performative elements of these musical traditions. Using the song Banka Mulk by Loki Verma (Himalayan Routes), this research highlights how the natural environment and devotional practices shape the musical landscape of the mountains, while documenting the influence of political movements and social struggles on this song.
The study argues that while mountain music continues to evolve, its cultural, spiritual, and political significance remains intact. By combining literary, historical, and cultural frameworks, the research underscores the importance of these musical traditions in shaping both local identities and global music cultures
“Relevance Of Sushruta’s Anatomical Insight In Modern Surgical Incision Techniques: A Literature Review”
Background: Sushruta, known as the Father of Surgery, provided intricate knowledge of human anatomy and precise descriptions of surgical procedures including various types of incisions (chedana). His classification of incisions—based on location, direction, depth, and healing response—forms a foundational basis for ancient Indian surgical principles. In the contemporary era, surgical incision techniques have evolved with a focus on minimizing tissue trauma, reducing infection, and optimizing healing, yet many parallels exist between classical Ayurvedic surgical principles and modern methodologies. Aim: To evaluate the relevance and applicability of Sushruta’s anatomical and surgical knowledge in the context of modern surgical incision practices. Objectives: To explore Sushruta’s descriptions of anatomical planes and incision methods. To compare traditional Ayurvedic surgical principles with modern surgical approaches. To assess the clinical significance of ancient techniques in present-day surgical practice. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted as a narrative literature review using data sourced from classical Ayurvedic texts such as Sushruta Samhita, and peer-reviewed modern surgical literature. Databases like PubMed, Scopus, and AYUSH Research Portal were explored using keywords related to Sushruta, anatomical dissection, incision techniques, and surgery. A comparative thematic analysis was used to correlate ancient and modern surgical practices. Results: The review identified significant convergence between Sushruta’s categorization of incisions (tiryak, chinna, viddha, etc.) and modern surgical principles such as Langer’s lines, safe incision zones, and tissue-handling techniques. His emphasis on precise anatomical localization, minimal trauma, and healing dynamics is reflected in today’s minimally invasive and reconstructive surgical methods. Notably, Sushruta’s surgical planning corresponds with current practices in plastic surgery, ENT, and general surgery. Conclusion: Sushruta’s anatomical and surgical acumen provides enduring value in the modern surgical context. His systematic approach to incision planning, based on functional anatomy, supports a refined understanding of contemporary surgical principles. Integration of classical insights can offer holistic surgical perspectives and promote interdisciplinary surgical education
Influence of Two Different Chitosan Modified Intracanal Medicaments on Fracture Resistance of Root Dentin: An in-vitro comparative evaluation.
Aims & Background: This study aimed to compare and evaluate the fracture resistance of root dentin treated with Triphala and Modified Triple Antibiotic Paste (MTAP) mixed with Chitosan.
Materials and Methods: Forty (40) single rooted human mandibular premolar teeth with single canal were chosen for this study. The teeth were sectioned to obtain a root length of 10mm. The canals were prepared till F3 Protaper Gold and irrigated with normal saline. The samples were then divided in four groups with each group having 10 teeth(n=10). Group A (Positive Control) was left untreated. Group B (Negative Control) was treated with Calcium Hydroxide. Then the root canals of two test groups were filled with the respective intracanal medicaments i.e. Triphala+Chitosan (Group C), MTAP+Chitosan (Group D). All the groups were sealed with temporary restorative material. The samples were stored in 100% humidity at 37°C for 15 days. After which they were mounted in self-cure acrylic resin till 5mm of root was exposed and then subjected to fracture resistance test in a universal testing machine and the data was tabulated and analyzed with SPSS software v.25 using one-way ANOVA and post-hoc Tukey’s HSD test.
Results: Untreated i.e. Positive Control Group (1206.80 ± 63.33 N) shows highest fracture resistance followed by Triphala+Chitosan Group (1147.70 ± 54.58 N) and MTAP+Chitosan Group (1062.20 ± 59.66 N). Calcium Hydroxide i.e. Negative Control Group (895.90 ± 65.11 N) has the lowest fracture resistance.
Conclusion: Both Triphala and MTAP combined with Chitosan enhances the fracture resistance of root dentin than Calcium Hydroxide and thus can be considered as an adjunct in endodontic therapy. Further research needs to be conducted in in-vivo setup to gather more evidence.
Clinical Significance: The modified intracanal medicaments with chitosan may improve fracture resistance, leading to better clinical outcomes for endodontically treated teeth, especially in high-stress bearing areas
Integrating Artificial Intelligence with Salivary Biomarkers for Predictive diagnosis in Systemic Diseases
Background: Early detection of systemic diseases is essential for preventive healthcare and improved patient outcomes. Saliva, a non-invasive biofluid, contains multiple biomarkers reflecting systemic health. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a powerful approach to analyze complex biomarker data for predictive diagnostics.
Objective: To develop and validate an AI-driven diagnostic system using salivary biomarkers for early detection of diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney diseases.
Materials and Methods:A cross-sectional study enrolled 300 participants, equally divided into four groups: healthy controls, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease. Unstimulated saliva samples were collected and analyzed for glucose, cortisol, C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and creatinine using ELISA. Data preprocessing, normalization, and feature selection preceded the application of Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models. Model performance was assessed using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC).
Results:The ANN model outperformed others, achieving 91.3% diagnostic accuracy, 89.8% precision, 92.5% recall, and 0.95 AUC-ROC. RF achieved 88.7% accuracy and 0.91 AUC-ROC, while SVM reached 85.4% accuracy and 0.88 AUC-ROC. Salivary IL-6 and CRP were strong indicators of systemic inflammation, while glucose correlated with diabetes (r = 0.78, p < 0.001).
Conclusion: AI-driven analysis of salivary biomarkers enables non-invasive, early detection of systemic diseases. Integration into clinical workflows could enhance preventive healthcare. Further validation across diverse populations is recommended
Efficacy of Anodal Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation Combined With Conventional Physiotherapy in Sub-Acute Stroke: A Randomized, Triple-Blind, Sham-Controlled Trial
Background: Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) modulates cortical excitability and may augment neurorehabilitation after stroke, but clinical gains in the sub-acute window remain uncertain due to heterogeneous results and protocol variability. This trial examined whether adding anodal tDCS over ipsilesional M1 to intensive physiotherapy improves motor, somatosensory, and participation outcomes versus sham in sub-acute stroke.
Methods: Adults 18–80 years with first-ever ischemic stroke in the sub-acute stage were randomized 1:1 to active anodal tDCS (1 mA, 20 minutes, 5 sessions/week for 4 weeks; anode over lesioned M1; cathode contralesional supraorbital) or sham, starting 48 h post-onset, alongside standardized physiotherapy and occupational therapy (2 h/day, 5 days/week). Outcomes were assessed at 48 h, weekly to 4 weeks, and at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year: Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT), Fugl-Meyer Upper/Lower Extremity (UEFM/LEFM), Fugl-Meyer Somatosensory subscale, Semmes-Weinstein Monofilament Test (SWMT), Tardieu, Stroke Impact Scale (SIS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and Barthel Index. Primary analysis used two-way repeated-measures ANOVA (time × treatment), intention-to-treat, normality via Shapiro–Wilk, effect sizes via Cohen’s d.
Results: The active tDCS group showed greater improvements over time in WMFT time and score, UEFM, and SIS domains compared to sham, with small-to-moderate effect sizes, while LEFM and somatosensory measures (SWMT, Fugl-Meyer Sensory) showed favorable but variable gains; adherence and blinding were high. Adverse events were mild and transient (tingling, itching), comparable to sham.
Conclusions: Anodal tDCS over ipsilesional M1 combined with conventional physiotherapy produced clinically meaningful motor and participation benefits versus sham in sub-acute stroke, with acceptable safety, supporting tDCS as an adjunct to early task-specific rehabilitation. Variability across sensory outcomes and known inter-individual response differences underscore the need for protocol standardization and personalization
Socio Economic Assessment and the Impact of Disaster in Cuddalore District
The Cuddalore district being a coastal zone is mostly covered by plain terrain without any high relief zone except some sedimentary high grounds. The Gadilam and Pennaiyar rivers flow in the northern side of the Cuddalore District and Vellar and Kollidam River (Coleroon) flows in south. Cuddalore is high Cyclone prone zone of the Eastcoast and its neighbourhood falls under rainfall surplus category and the temperatures vary between 19.9 C to 26 C in the winter season and 31 C to 42 C in the summer season. The district gets rainfall mostly in the months of October to December from the Northeast monsoon which accounts for 72 percentage of the total amount of rainfall. Researcher is interested to analyse the socio economic assessment of the district after disaster as well as the impact of disaster in Cuddalore district. From Data Silos to Knowledge Graphs: Architecting CrossEnterprise AI Solutions for Scalability and Trust
Data silos within and across organisations frequently hinder the implementation of scalable and trusted artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The critical capabilities needed to overcome data last mile problems can be broadly summarised as the provision of a solid AI architecture coupled with scalable knowledge graphs. When these capabilities are realised, data silos become rest-silos—repositories that can be safely and trustworthily queried without any potential for their alteration or modification. These capabilities and their architectural imple- mentation are examined in detail. The synergistic integration of solid AI architectural principles and scalable knowledge graphs effectively eliminates the adverse effects associated with data silos. Leveraging the mediation ability of knowledge graphs, previously inaccessible data can be integrated from multiple departments, corporate entities and across business ecosystems. New product and service opportunities, together with the associated corporate business and operating models, can then be established.
