    Get PDF
According to the American Psychology Association (2000), “kleptomania is an impulse control disorder characterised by a recurrent failure to resist encourages to steal things that are not needed for personal use or that have no monetary value (Criterion A). The individual is under increasing pressure just before the theft (Criterion B), but then enjoys elation, satisfaction, or relief afterward (Criterion C). The act of stealing is not motivated by vengeance or fury; it is not the outcome of hallucination or delusion (Criterion D); and it is not better explained by a behavioural disorder, a manic display, or a temperament that is anti condition (Criterion E). It has long been believed that kleptomania is primarily a disease of affluent, Caucasian women. Very few studies have focused on males, persons of colour, or people from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a few significant exceptions. Criterion A may be an artefact of studying mostly affluent, white females, since it suggests that only individuals who can typically afford the stolen things may be seen as demonstrating kleptomania behaviour.” People with kleptomania don\u27t steal due to a lack of character traits like restraint or morality. Instead, it\u27s a disorder in which sufferers lack the willpower to resist the urge to steal. There is a strong correlation between kleptomania and psychological distress. Many individuals try to make up the difference by reselling or donating the items in question or by deferring payment until a later date

Team I through a trial bunch and a particular gathering received yoga practice .Team  II went through the benchmark group and received no Yoga therapy .The practice given 3month preparatory phase, 6 days weekly .T-test was used to match the facts and explore it. Principle findings: The \u27t\u27 significance of DN4 has been calculated to be 3.873 for team I and -1.974 for team II, respectively. The results indicate that team I information demonstrates a significant improvement in the Neurological factors, whereas team II\u27s negative t value indicates no significant change in the Neurological variables. The computed \u27t\u27 value is more significant than the 2.14 table value. Conclusion: According to the current investigation\u27s outcomes, yoga therapy proved a much preferable for DPN.  Key Words: Health disparities, Yoga Therapy, Yogasanas, Meditation, functional improvement

Cultural Nuances and Academic Outcomes in Educational Psychology: A Comparative Analysis of Japan and India Using Hofstede\u27s Dimensions and Thematic Analysis

    Get PDF
Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore how cultural factors, as delineated by Hofstede\u27s Dimensions, influence educational outcomes in Japan and India. Theoretical Framework: Grounded in Hofstede\u27s cultural dimensions theory, the research juxtaposed these cultural metrics against academic outcomes to discern any potential patterns. Additionally, it integrated developmental and educational psychology perspectives to comprehend the deeper implications of these cultural nuances on learning. Design/Methodology/Approach: A mixed-methods approach was adopted. Qualitative data were gleaned from focus groups and in-depth interviews involving teachers, students, and parents from both countries. Quantitative data were derived from standardized test scores - the National Assessment of Academic Ability for Japan and the National Achievement Survey for India. Findings: Four primary themes emerged: Tradition vs. Modernity, Familial and Societal Pressures, Structural Differences, and Critical Thinking vs. Rote Learning. There were discernible correlations between cultural perceptions and academic achievements, with Japan leaning more towards modern pedagogies and India oscillating between tradition and modernity. Research implications: Recognizing these cultural determinants can guide educators, psychologists, and policy-makers in crafting pedagogies and policies that resonate with the cultural ethos of learners. Moreover, it underscores the societal importance of aligning educational strategies with cultural nuances to ensure holistic development. Originality/Value: While many studies have explored educational systems individually, this comparative analysis, underpinned by Hofstede\u27s dimensions, offers fresh insights into the intricate interplay of culture and education in two significant Asian contexts.
