This survey-correlational study aimed to determine the health and sanitation practices and job performance among Hotel and Restaurant Management On-the-Job Trainees of Iloilo State College and Fisheries-San Enrique Campus in Iloilo City. During the academic year 2014-2015, the study utilized 21 randomly selected HRM OJTs from 38 HRM OJTs as participants. The researcher used two standardized and published data-gathering instruments, the Health and Sanitation Practices Questionnaire developed by Torreblanca (1990) for health and sanitation practices; and CBM Job Performance Sheet (2010) for job performance. The statistics used to analyze the study were Means, ranks, standard deviations, t-test, and Pearson’s r. Generally, HRM OJTs had excellent job performance and practiced health and sanitation to a full extent. In this paper, we take a look at the current state of 3D printing technology as it pertains to forensic medicine in India. From developing anatomical models for disease detection and surgical planning to its promise in bio mechanical modelling and tool creation, the book examines the many uses and difficulties of 3D printing in the area. The research highlights the value of precise digital 3D modelling, careful consideration of materials, and repeated testing of prototypes. It also calls into question the viability of 3D printing on a large scale and emphasizes the need for standardized methods and ethical principles in the use of this technology in forensics. While 3D printing is still in its infancy in India, there is hope for its future development and effect in forensic medicine because to continuous research and interdisciplinary cooperation. Keywords: 3D Printing, Forensic Medicine. Hypertensive patients deserve special attention because of the possible complications during dental treatment. This article describes safe approaches for hypertensive patients, indications for local anaesthesia, treatment risks, hypertensive crises, drug interactions, and oral manifestations of antihypertensive drugs. It aims to review the literature regarding safe dental approaches for hypertensive patients, such as indications for local anaesthesia, surgical risks, hypertensive crisis, drug interactions, and oral manifestations of antihypertensive drug use. Several preventive measures must be taken to treat hypertensive patients, including taking an anamnesis. This action is very important to evaluate systemic changes. In addition, measuring blood pressure at the beginning and during the intervention is necessary. Minimizing sitting time in the dental unit must also be done to minimize patient anxiety. Stress control and selecting appropriate anaesthetic agents also need to be done. Solutions with low concentrations of vasoconstrictors, paying attention to dosage, and following the principles of the anaesthetic technique must be observed. The use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided. These precautions will avoid serious iatrogenic events and improve and ensure patient safety and quality of service

Correlation Between Social Media Using Experience and the Users’ Intercultural Communication Competence (ICC)

    Get PDF
Social media has embedded people\u27s daily lives in the digital era, and its convenient nature for breaking geographical barriers has created an intercultural virtual environment. Tandem, a social media platform that emerged in 2015, enables users to find language partners online to improve their foreign language skills. Previous studies have rarely explored Tandem as a popular language learning tool worldwide. To investigate whether Tandem, as a social media platform, enhances users’ intercultural communication competence (ICC), this study adopted a sequential Qual-quan mixed methodology, revealed that Tandem users who exhibit higher levels of English proficiency also demonstrate higher ICC scores. Additionally, there was a positive correlation between the affective, cognitive, and behavioral domains and users’ ICC. The study participants expressed strong motivation in utilizing Tandem, as evidenced by their feedback. Therefore, future educators and multinational institutions can consider incorporating Tandem as a valuable tool to enhance learners\u27 ICC

    Get PDF
Background: Children are vulnerable to sexual violence, which can have devastating and long-lasting effects on their physical and mental health. Therefore, it is essential to provide them with early sexual education that will help them avoid such dangers. However, there is no formal and systematic program to prevent sexual violence against elementary school pupils in Indonesia, particularly in the city of Gorontalo. Objectives: This study\u27s objectives were to investigate the impact of school-based sex education on the self-help skills of elementary school students in the face of sexual violence. The study also intended to contribute to the development of effective and appropriate sex education materials for elementary school students in Gorontalo. Methods: This study is a quantitative approach with a true experimental design. 200 fifth-grade elementary school pupils were randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group. The experimental group received sex education on topics including puberty, reproduction, self-confidence, courage, communication, and sexual violence. The group serving as the control received no treatment. Using a questionnaire, the students\u27 self-help skills in the face of sexual violence were evaluated. The Anakova test was used to analyze the data. Result: Results indicated a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of their self-help skills when confronting sexual violence. After receiving the sex education intervention, the experimental group had higher scores than the control group. This suggests that the sex education program had a positive effect on the students\u27 capacity to assist themselves in situations involving sexual violence. Conclusion: The study concluded that school-based sex education can enhance elementary school students\u27 self-help skills in the face of sexual violence. The study also suggested that sex education should be incorporated into the curriculum and taught by instructors who are trained in interactive and participatory teaching techniques. This is the first study of its kind to examine the reduction of sexual violence against pupils in the Indonesian city of Gorontalo. Keywords- School-based sex education, self-help, sexual violence, primary school students
