This study investigated Big Five personality traits as predictors of emotional intelligence of secondary school students in Nagaland state of India. Eight (8) hypotheses and ten (10) sub-hypotheses have been framed to test the mean difference between the demographic variables and to look at the association and prediction. Multistage sampling technique were used to select the sample. Finally, 520 samples were selected by stratified random sampling technique on which the tools have been administered. Two tools were used for the data collection, one to test big five personality (developed by K. S. Misra’s Five Personality Trait Inventory in 2020) and other was for emotional intelligence (developed and standardized by the researcher).  Data were analysed using t-test, Pearson product moment correlations (r) and linear regression analysis. The hypotheses were tested at 0.05 alpha level. Results of the study showed that There is a significant difference in emotional intelligence of boys and girls. Big Five personality traits (neuroticism, agreeableness, extraversion, openness, and conscientiousness) significantly predicted emotional intelligence of secondary school students from Nagaland state. The ability to manage emotional states is mostly depends up on agreeableness, extraversion, and openness among all the five factors. So, the family, school and the teachers should work on to the development of personality on priority basis as well as emotional intelligence should also be taken care off

    Get PDF
As insurers continue to confront increasingly daunting challenges posed by not only tax authorities but also by a diverse array of complex corporate clients, the deficiency of timely tax information has emerged as a significant and pressing problem within the realm of insurance advisory services. The marketplace is marked by an insufficient number of solutions that effectively tackle both compliance and strategic planning tasks simultaneously. Meanwhile, many of the other tax intelligence solutions available predominantly generate historical information, which fails to meet the dynamic needs of the industry. Current systems in use often incorporate multiple platforms that suffer from a lack of complete automation, precision, and scalability, creating inefficiencies and increasing the likelihood of costly errors. In stark contrast to these existing offerings, our proposed innovative architecture is designed to enable comprehensive automation and remarkable versatility in the extraction of essential tax intelligence from the outset and through the advisory process. Utilizing advanced process flows and scalability techniques, we present a robust scalable case study that examines various taxation implications grounded in multiple company statuses as well as diverse geographic alternatives. By thoroughly considering the pressing necessity and optimal configuration, users have the option to acquire this invaluable tool as a service or seamlessly synchronize their respective tax applications. This ensures they are equipped to maintain not only up-to-the-minute compliance but also a strategic approach within the context of insurance expert workshops and consultations

Diabetes is a common metabolic disease having serious health implications and its incidence is increasing day by day. The global burden of diabetes is alarmingly high, with over 382 million diabetics in 2013 which is expected to rise up to 592 million by 2035 [1]. 60% of the world diabetic population resides in Asia [1], with Southeast Asia having around 72 million adults with diabetes in 2013 and this figure is expected to rise to 123 million by 2035 [2]. Long-term diabetes presents with various complications including retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, arteriosclerosis etc. One of the many complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), which is defined as “the presence of symptoms or signs of peripheral nerve dysfunction in people with diabetes after exclusion of other causes [3]. It is estimated that 60% to 70% of diabetics have mild to severe forms of nervous system damage [4]. DPN is one of the serious known micro vascular complications of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus having been diagnosed in 20-50% of the diabetic population

Background: Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy are a significant cause of maternal and fetal morbidity. The placenta\u27s aging and senescence, reflected in these changes, are critical markers in assessing pregnancy complications. This study aims to sonographic study of fetal between hypertensive and normotensive pregnancies in Northern India, aiming to elucidate differences that could contribute to better management and outcomes in high-risk pregnancies. Objective: A sonographic study of fetal in normotensive and hypertensive pregnant women in Central India. Methods: The present prospective case-control study involving 200 pregnant women (100 normotensive, 100 hypertensive) of third trimester gestation. Placental grading was assessed using ultrasonography. Results: General examination findings, however, highlighted significant differences in pulse rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and respiratory rate, all higher in the case group (p < 0.001). Placental grading showed most patients in both groups had Grade II, and no significant difference was observed between groups. Fetal weight was significantly lower in the case group (2.5 ± 0.2 kg) compared to controls (2.7 ± 0.3 kg). Perinatal morbidity and mortality were higher in the case group but not statistically significant. Conclusion: This study demonstrates placenta is mirror image of the fetal outcome. Examination of placenta by ultrasonography, there is definite evidence of changes in placental morphology and grading in pregnancy-induced hypertensive mothers

Multi-Policy Synergies: A Data-Driven Analysis of Consumer Behavior and Cross-Selling Strategies in Auto, Home, Life, And Umbrella Insurance

In the market of insurance products, brand-specified policies are often sold under a "multi-policy discount" by the same firm. Such multipolicy discounts are viewed as a means to encourage policyholders to cross-buy or bundle several policies offered by the same firm. The bundling type of cross-selling strategy associated with multi-policy discounts is becoming increasingly prevalent in the property-casualty insurance industry. Nevertheless, as the insurance market and the cross-selling strategies become more complex, the effectiveness and efficiency of these bundling type of cross-selling strategies and the mechanism through which they work are less understood. The consumer purchases multiple policies from the same firm can be dependent not only on the discount offered on the multi-policy but also on the preference for the discounts on individual policies, the multi-policy and the individual policies offered by other firms with similar product. Such a phenomenon is labeled as “chaining preference” in consumer choice theory, but it is seldom examined in existing econometrics for the insurance market invoking the true and latent utility frameworks. It is worth noting that the effectiveness and efficiency of discount policies depend on a proper consideration of not only the true utility parameters but also the latent utility. An extensive literature has emphasized the importance of accounting for the unobservable effects in modeling and analyzing consumers\u27 behaviors. On the other hand, the latent utility framework modeling the joint distribution of true and latent utility has attracted recent attention, but most of existing applications have focused on single purchase scenarios. This paper, thus, aims to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the multi-policy discount policies taking into account this chaining preference by using the newly developed latent utility framework. It will be of great significance to the newly emerging question of bundling or multi-product discount policy in marketing and pricing research

    Get PDF
This study aims to develop a thorough revitalization plan for Aroma Beach Promenade and restore its identity. Aroma Beach is a renowned beach destination in Barangay San Roque I, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, known for its historical significance. It is home to McArthur\u27s Second Landing Marker, commemorating the event when American naval forces, led by General Douglas MacArthur, conducted the "Second Landing" on the beaches of San Jose on December 15, 1944. This marked a crucial moment in the liberation of the Philippine islands from Japanese occupation during the Battle of Mindoro. The significance of this event has established Aroma Beach as a symbol of resilience and independence in both local and national history. Despite its historical importance, Aroma Beach has faced contemporary challenges. The Aroma Beach Promenade, built in 2021 as a sea wall along the water\u27s edge to protect the shoreline and boost tourism, encountered problems during its construction, according to Engr. Magsangkay, the municipal engineer of San Jose, said the construction did not adhere to the proper standards for coastal infrastructure, rendering the structure more vulnerable to environmental hazards. In 2022, Typhoon Paeng severely damaged the promenade, leading to the collapse of large portions of the concrete walkway, including the sea wall section. This event underscored the need for more sophisticated measures to protect the area, both environmentally and architecturally. Descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the investigation. The findings indicate that while the area has a lot to offer visitors, problems, including poor infrastructure, environmental challenges, and a lack of historical knowledge, persist. In particular, inadequate planting and subpar drainage systems were cited by 85% of survey participants as reasons for their displeasure with the promenade\u27s current state. Furthermore, McArthur\u27s Second Landing Marker and Aroma Beach\u27s historical significance were unknown to 78% of tourists. 82% of respondents highlighted the need for more shade and seating areas, and 67% of respondents said waste management was a serious problem. These results demonstrate how urgently historically appropriate and sustainable revitalization strategies are needed

The Afterlife Of Memory: Postmemory, Genocide And Childhood Trauma In First They Killed My Father

    Get PDF
This paper studies Loung Ung’s memoir First They Killed My Father through the lens of Marianne Hirsch’s postmemory. Loung Ung reconstructs her childhood experiences during the Cambodian genocide in an emotionally intense narrative. Through a child’s eye-view, this memoir offers a visceral window into the chaos and trauma of surviving a mass violence. Although Loung Ung is a direct survivor of the Cambodian genocide and not a descendant of one, her memoir exhibits certain structural and emotional characteristics associated with Hirsch’s postmemory. This paper argues that Ung’s narrative blurs the distinction between lived memory and postmemory, showing how her traumatic past is reconstructed and transmitted through affect, imagination and retrospective voice. It reveals how postmemory suits not only the descendants of survivors, but those whose trauma began even before language or comprehension could fully capture it

The growing demand for sustainable fashion has catalysed an interest in botanical contact printed products worldwide, which utilize nature to create unique imprints and textile  designs. In this study, we have segmented the available data into distinct clusters using the k- means method, which is an unsupervised machine learning technique, to determine the data points that lie within the confines of this market. By analysing the data collected—including earnings and expenditures, preferences, and demographic information—the aim is to uncover meaningful patterns that can shape marketing strategies for evolving sustainability. Recognizing customer groups is essential for businesses for several reasons. In the first place, it helps companies direct marketing more precisely, increasing the possibility that within the available resources a message would be heard by the targeted industry groups. Apart from that, it is possible to optimize the range of products as a defined customer segment would appreciate the product features. Thirdly, it helps to gain loyalty because people want to be recognized with brands that resonates their belief systems. Insightful data derived from K- means clustering helps businesses increase customer satisfaction, revenue, and growth in the sustainable textile sector. Having consistent actionable marketing strategies based on data is vital to the growth of companies in the textile sector that wish to tap into the more environmentally focused customers
