    A Review of Energy Storage Systems for Wind Power Plants

However, using fossil fuels damage environment. For this reason, Wind Power Systems, type of renewable energy, are preferred for establishing new power plants. Wind Power Plants (WPP) are installed every year with a significant increasing rate. Integration of large scale WPPs into grid presents some issues, such as power quality, bridging power and energy management. State of the art the Energy Storage (ES) is a possible solution for Wind Power Plants.In this paper, possible ES technologies for decreasing disadvantages of WPPs are discussed and their characteristic features are compared. ES systems are indicated in terms of purpose of use in WPPs

    This paper introduces the recent advances in ballastless tracks in recent years and discusses different systems in use and their applications. The idea is to provide more reliable foundation for track by replacing ballast with materials such as concrete and asphalt. Concrete is the most widely used material in ballastless tracks and different slab track configurations have been in service. However, asphalt can also be a good alternative for ballast especially where noise and vibration reduction is required. This paper discusses advantages and drawbacks that may be encountered in their construction. Other types of ballastless tracks including embedded rail systems will be discussed and recent advances and design process will be introduced

    Lean Implementation on Indian manufacturing firm

    In today’s market every manufacturing industry is trying to implement ‘Lean’ in its operations. This emergent need of reducing waste and getting efficient production had created a boom for the Lean Production (LP). Many people from corporate firms and management associates want a productive tool for achieving this task. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is the solution to such emerging need, it identifies the source of waste practices and tries to scale down them analytically. VSM in this way measures all the value and non-value added processes, to evaluate the origin of wastes, their effect on different operation of industry and the processes in between. In this paper we have implemented VSM technique on a small scale industry to showcase its effect on cost of production, production lead time and the developing some procedure for reduction of root cause of this loss. Considering the current processes of the industries operations Current State map is developed to show how actual production is taking place at the industry before implementing any lean procedure. A Future State Map is finally developed considering the lean behaviours to reduce the waste production and to increase its productivity. This is inspected along with its takt time calculation. Thus, by curbing these wasteful practices we will show how manufacturing performance of the company can be upgraded by employment of VSM

The implementation results on the graphics processor show that the performance of this algorithm has greatly increased as to its implementation in parallel and with change in kernel implementation. In fact, in this study, implementation and velocity evaluation of particles algorithm implementation in parallel and based on CUDA framework has been investigated and compared. Then, there have been efforts to improve acceleration in this method in part and a new method will be proposed in CUDA framework to improve acceleration in particles algorithm and graphic processor setting

This application allows user to get nutrient information of products and grocery by just taking a photo. Product matching is performed using SURF feature detection followed by FLANN feature matching. We extract the table from the nutrient fact table image using concepts of erosion, dilation and contour detection. Classifying the grocery is done using Object Categorization through the concepts of Bag of Words (BOW) and SVM machine learning. This application includes three main subsystems: client (Android), server (Node.js) and image processing (OpenCV)

In this paper a threshold optimization technique is proposed for asynchronous impulsive noise reduction. Also an adaptive impulsive noise mitigation system is proposed by combining impulsive parameter estimation and threshold optimization for strongly and weakly disturbed noise environments. The results show that the proposed method improves the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the BPLC system
