The effect of Nasal Instillation of Lignocaine Jelly on Easiness in Naso-Gastric Intubation and the level of Associated Discomfort/pain Experienced by the Patients
A quasi experimental study on the effect of nasal instillation of lignocaine jelly on easiness in intubation of nasogastric tube and the level of associated discomfort/pain experienced by the patients admitted in Multispecialty Govt. hospital, sector-16 Union territory Chandigarh in year 2011-12. A minimum of 100 patients was taken for the study. Data was collected by using Interview method, Observation method, and Self reporting method by study subjects. The mean age of the control group subjects is 40.24± 14.10 and mean age of experimental group subjects is 41.48 ± 13.72. In the control group forty two percent of the study subjects are in the age range of 20-40-years and thirty eight percent in experimental group. In control group forty four percent subjects are in the age range of 41-60 years and forty eight percent in the experimental group. However fourteen percent study subjects are above the age of 60 years in both the control group and the experimental group. Statistical comparison of the study subject based on the age revealed that there was significant difference, as the calculated‘t’ value was higher than the table value at 0.01 level of significanc

Temporary-Snapshot Based Composite Synchronous Checkpointing Protocol for Mobile Distributed Systems
Minimum-process synchronous snapshot compilation is a suitable approach to introduce fault tolerance in mobile distributed systems transparently. In order to balance the snapshot compilation overhead and the loss of computation on recovery, we propose a composite snapshot compilation algorithm, wherein an all-process synchronous snapshot is capturen after the execution of minimum-process synchronous snapshot compilation algorithm for a fixed number of times. In synchronous snapshot compilation, if a single procedure fails to capture its snapshot; all the snapshot compilation effort goes waste, because, each process has to repudiate its tentative snapshot. In order to capture the tentative snapshot, an Mobile Host(M_HOST) needs to transfer large snapshot data to its local Mobile Support Station(MOB_SUPP_ST) over wireless channels. Hence, the loss of snapshot compilation effort may be exceedingly high. Therefore, we propose that in the first phase, all concerned M_HOSTs will capture Temporary snapshot only. Temporary snapshot is similar to mutable snapshot, which is stored on the memory of M_HOST only. In this case, if some procedure fails to capture snapshot in the first phase, then M_HOSTs need to repudiate their Temporary snapshots only. The effort of capturing a Temporary snapshot is negligibly small as compared to the tentative one.In the minimum-process synchronous snapshot compilation algorithm, an effort has been made to minimize the number of useless snapshots and blocking of procedures using probabilistic approach
Aerometric monitoring system for pollution control
Air quality monitoring and analysis is needed in order to provide decision makers with reliable information about the pollution situation so that they can take appropriate measures to mitigate or prevent negative impacts whenever there is need. World Health Organization (WHO) has recently announced that air pollution is carcinogenic to humans. The results from the reviewed studies point in the same direction: the risk of developing lung cancer hss significantly increased in people exposed to air pollution. This finding elevates the urgency to create awareness among common people about the air, both outdoors and indoors. In our project "Aerometric Monitoring System for Pollution Control”, we use a device that consists of a cluster of sensors that are used to sense atmospheric characteristics continuously. Atmospheric characteristics include Temperature, Humidity, Gas index indicating presence of poisonous gases etc. Several such devices can be deployed in places where we need to estimate air pollution. This covers public domains like bus stands, railway stations, junctions etc. and private domains like households, small scale industries and so on. The aggregated data collected by these devices are uploaded to the Internet using IoT platform by establishing a connection. The data is then displayed on the IoT platform along with various graphical representations. This enables the public to access the data anywhere, any time
Survey on air pollution monitoring system using sensors
The innovative urban city was developed due to the convergence of various human activities such as construction with the development of information technology. The Pollution levels has been intensified by developments that stereotypically occur as countries become industrialized and urbanized.Increasing air pollution levels leads to many hazards such as global warming , acid rains, skin and lung related disorders etc., In-order to elude such cases ,monitoring of the quality of air in the environment is highly necessary.Wireless Sensor Networks is an outstanding and emerging technology that is used for sensing, measuring pollutant levels and transmit information in the central server. The server makes use of machine learning (ML) algorithm for building accurate forecasting performances. The quality of air is determined by measuring the levels of ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) by their threshold values. The input from the sensor nodes is transmitted to the android device with the help of zigbee module and output is displayed to the user

Reversible ALU design using low power Vedic multiplier
In Today’s digital world, computer architecture plays major role. Speed, power dissipation, area, costs are the real challenges that are faced by the designer. In this project a new architecture design for high speed, low power and area efficient Arithmetic and logic Unit is introduced. By optimizing the ALU unit in embedded system designs a high speed and power efficient systems can be achieved. The use of high performance and low power sub-blocks like adders, substractors, multipliers and logical unit can reduce the total power consumption and increase the efficiency. In this paper high speed and area efficient Vedic multiplier and an adder along with the optimized logical unit using reversible logic gates is used. The optimum adder design and Vedic mathematics concept are used in the implementation of Arithmetic and logic Unit to reduce the power dissipation and area and to improve the performance of the system sufficiently. Integration of low power sub-blocks of Arithmetic and logic Unit results, decrease in power dissipation and increase in performance speed of the proposed design as when compared with the conventional irreversible designs. The proposed design is implemented using Verilog HDL programming language and simulation using Xilinx ISE software
