There exist mobile nodes in a distributed system, which arises some new issues like mobility, disconnections, low bandwidth of wireless channels, limited battery power capacity and lack of reliable stable storage on mobile nodes, that need proper handling when we design a checkpointing algorithm for distributed systems. It is not easy to predict whether the system will prolong to perform throughout or till approved time. Checkpoint is defined as a specify state in a program at which normal process is disrupted typically to maintain the information of status mandatory to allow renewal of processing at a later time in issue of a failure. This paper gives a summary of checkpointing strategies for mobile networks which are categories on the basis of quality of service of wireless networks, based on mobile agents, considering the mobility of MHs and transmission of checkpoints. We also represent a survey of some checkpointing algorithms for distributed systems

Checkpoint is defined as a designated place in a program at which normal process is interrupted specifically to preserve the status information necessary to allow resumption of processing at a later time. A distributed system is a collection of independent entities that cooperate to solve a problem that cannot be individually solved. A mobile computing system is a distributed system where some of processes are running on mobile hosts (MHs). The existence of mobile nodes in a distributed system introduces new issues that need proper handling while designing a checkpointing algorithm for such systems. These issues are mobility, disconnections, finite power source, vulnerable to physical damage, lack of stable storage etc. Recently, more attention has been paid to providing checkpointing protocols for mobile systems. Minimum-process coordinated checkpointing is an attractive approach to introduce fault tolerance in mobile distributed systems transparently. This approach is domino-free, requires at most two recovery_points of a process on stable storage, and forces only a minimum number of processes to recovery_point. But, it requires extra synchronization messages, blocking of the underlying computation or taking some useless recovery_points. In this paper, we carry out the literature survey of some Minimum-process Coordinated Checkpointing Algorithms for Mobile Computing System

Stepped spillway increases the hydraulic resistance against flow by using of step-made spillway floor and when the flow of water passing on steps, a significant part of energy dissipates and also reduces the risk of cavitation. In this experimental research, in order to increase the energy dissipation of stepped spillway, Steps has a reverse gradient and in other part of this tests in addition to create a reverse gradient in the steps at the same time the sill is also installed on the edge of the steps. Height, thickness of the sills is considered variable. The results show that in both Nappe Flow Regime and Skimming Flow Regime Change of gradient, sills height, thickness are effective to increase the energy loss but the effect of these parameters on the Nappe Flow Regime is much greater than Skimming Flow Regime. By analyzing the results of the experiments and compared with results from other studies, the research showed that the method used in this study has a better energy loss than other methods used in prior researches
