    A Study to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on tuberculosis among tuberculosis Patients

    An evaluative study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programe on tuberculosis among the tuberculosis patients, who are coming to RNTCP outpatient department in a selected hospital Bangalore .The samples consisted of 300 tuberculosis patients, the age group of above 18 years selected by purposive sampling method. The mean percentage of post test knowledge score 80.06 with mean and S.D of 39.23+ - 2.23 was higher than the pre test knowledge score 44.71% with the mean and SD of 21.91+_2.27. Statistical paired ‘t’ test value was 92.84 at 0.05 level shows that there was a significant improvement in the knowledge level among tuberculosis patients regarding tuberculosis. The result proved that S.T.P on tuberculosis prepared by the investigator has helped the tuberculosis patients to improve their knowledge on tuberculosis

    Media a fast tracking police van has taken out an excellent step to uplift the social condition of Dalit Woman. Besides broadcasting and penning words on their social and economical condition it has also become a satellite to telecast the physical assault for which they are exploited and drawn out from their community. This paper will come across each and every aspect of media intensifying the problems of dalit woman throughout ages giving an exclusive account of media and its sources in building out a historic change in their life. Instances of everyday discrimination are quite ubiquitous, but they are frequently documented with focus and in- depth coverage in India‘s as well as in other countries‘ mainstream news media. Media has started uploading videos illustrating contributions of the grass-roots level activists and also wrapping various issues concerning the Dalits, Adivasis, Bahuians, Muslims and other minorities etc. As a source, it is only media giving a chance to speak. It has provided an excellent platform to render violence against dalit woman as the outcome of severely imbalanced social, economic and political power equations and widespread exploitation and discrimination in terms of power relations to men in a patriarchal society, as also against their communities based on caste. This paper scrutinizes how media has made these women an instrument through which the social system replicates itself and systemic inequality is maintained. Violence against Dalit women is systematically utilized to deny their opportunities, choices and freedoms at multiple levels, undermining not only Dalit women‘s dignity and self-respect, but also their right to development

    Modeling of SEPIC Fed PMBLDC Motor for Torque Ripple Minimization

    BLDC Motor suffers from commutation torque ripple, which mainly depends on stator winding impedance, speed and transient line current in the conduction interval. This paper describes a novel circuit topology and a dc input link voltage control strategy to keep incoming and outgoing phase currents changing at the same rate during commutation interval. A SEPIC (single-ended primary inductor converter) and a switch selection circuit are employed in the front of the inverter. The desired commutation voltage is obtained by the SEPIC converter. The input dc link voltage control strategy is carried out by the switch selection circuit to separate two procedures, adjusting the SEPIC converter and regulating speed. The commutation torque ripple is analyzed, and introduced the way to obtain the desired dc link voltage in detail. Finally, simulation and experimental results show that, compared with conventional and the proposed method can obtain the desired voltage is obtained and minimize commutation torque ripple more efficiently

    MIMO-TDCS Channel Capacity Enhancement Using Coupling Compensation and Butler Matrix

    MIMO-TDCS is a highly promising technique among all capacity enhancement techniques in MIMO system that are existing today. It has considerably magnified channel capacity as compared to the other techniques. But when the coupling between adjacent closely spaced elements of antennae at receiver or transmitter side is considered, capacity decreases. Thus, corresponding compensation is done at transmitter or receiver or at both sides and an improvised method of coupling compensation technique with MIMO-TDCS is born. It provides better channel capacities than pure MIMO-TDCS. When Butler matrix-TDCS combination is introduced, capacity improvements not as good as in former case are obtained. Here, angle domain processing is preferred over conventional array domain processing technique. Lastly, the existing microwave beamforming network technique of Nolen matrix is compared to the above developed techniques and Nolen matrix technique is found to be least efficient

    Bridgeless PFC Cuk Derived Converter Fed BLDC Motor with PID and Fuzzy Logic Controller

    A bridgeless single phase ac-dc rectifier based Cuk derived converter topology fed BLDC motor is proposed to improvepower factor at the AC mains near to the unity with low THD for PFC applications. It utilizes one control signal over the whole line cycle. In addition, the proposed converter exhibits low inrush current and low magnetic emissions as classical Cuk topology. The partial elimination of diodes in DBR in the bridgeless topology results in lower conduction losses as compared with conventional Cuk converter. The proposed method is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink with PID and fuzzy logic controller for precise speed control. Simulation results are presented along with the theoretical analysis.

    Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Methanolic Leaf Extracts of Coriandrum sativum and Eryngium foetidum L

    Eryngium foetidum (E. foetidum ) and Coriandrum sativum (C. sativum ) commonly known as african malli and malli respectively are widely used in different parts of the world as flavouring agents. The leaves of these plants are used in  traditional Indian cusine to improve the  smell and taste  of the food. Our present study wqas to identify the presence of   secondary metabolites in the leaf extracts and to determine the whether the leaf extracts possessed antimicrobial, and antioxidant activities. The study was designed so, to compare the effect of methanolic leaf extracts  of both Coriandrum sativum and Eryngium foetidum. The antimicrobial activity was studied against Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella oxytoca, and Staphylococcus auerus. The results  of the present study clearly indicates that E. foetidum  and C. sativum  possess antibacterial activity and they are good natural sources of antioxidant compounds for use in food and pharmaceutical industry

    Fuzzy Based Energy Management Algorithm For Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicles

    This paper proposes an intelligent workplace parking station for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) charging. The system consists of smart power charging controller, a 100-kW photovoltaic (PV) panel, DC bus and an utility grid. Stochastic models of the power that is demanded by PHEVs in the parking station and the output power of the PV Panel are presented. In order to limit the impact of the PHEVs’ charging on the utility ac grid, a fuzzy logic power-flow controller was designed. Fuzzy logic controller will predict the charging priority level of PHEVs depending on their power requirements. The charging rates depend on the predicted PV output power, the power demand by the PHEVs and energy price from the utility grid. The developed system can significantly limit the impact of PHEVs on the utility grid and reduce the charging cost. The system architecture and the developed PHEV smart charging algorithm are described. Moreover, a comparison between the impact of the charging process of the PHEVs on the grid with and without the developed smart charging technique is presented and analyzed

    Hot Electron Degradation Improvement through Horizontal Step Doping in SOI MOSFETs

    MOSFET dimensions are continued to be scaled down due to the demand of low power and high packing density As the physical dimensions of the device are reduced, the short channel effects (SCEs) are increased.To reduce these SCEs, supply voltage and doping density are also considered necessary to be scaled down.To improve performance of the MOSFETs, doping profile of channel is changed. In this paper, we present comparison of uniform doping (UD), horizontal high source side doping (HHSS) & horizontal high drain side doping (HHDS) and draw the conduction band characteristics for uniform doping (UD), horizontal high source side doping (HHSS) & horizontal high drain side doping (HHDS) our results show that the horizontal high source side doping exhibit excellent properties for  hot electron degradation improvement and better reliability. All the device simulations are performed using SILVACO Atlas device simulator

    Estimation of Phytochemicals in The Callus and Invivo of (Artemisia Scorparia)

    In the present work investigation was carried out in medicinal plants Artemisia scorpaia by culturing at in vivo conditions. The results obtained from the present study concluded that the plant parts of A.scorparia when cultured on the basal MS media supplemented with appropriate growth hormones can give rise to an unorganized mass of cells called callus. Callus induction from explant from both in vivo and in vitro raised plants, viz., seed, stems, from aerial shoots was initiated within 4 to 5 weeks of inoculation in basal medium supplemented with various concentration of auxin and cytokinins. Present study shows the importance of plant growth regulators in callus production and indirect regeneration. And in next section of study production of primary & secondary phytochemicals were extracted and observed from thin layer chromatography technique.A.scorparia plant is rich in primary metabolites. And in case of secondary metabolites quercetin&kaempferol were extracted as flavonoids whereas β-sitosterol&Stigmasterol were extracted as carotenoids
