PAPR Reduction and Sidelobe Suppression in Cognitive OFDM - A Survey
Cognitive radio (CR) is one of the key technology providing a new way to enhance the utilization of available spectrum effectively. The multicarrier modulation (MCM) technique which is widely used is Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system, is an excellent choice for high data rate application. The main two limitations of this technology is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of transmission signal and large spectrum sidelobe. This article describes some of the important PAPR reduction techniques and sidelobe suppression techniques
Analysis of water quality in Buckingham Canal
The paper presents the study of physico chemical parameters of water in Buckingham canal within the Chennai city limits .The water has been subjected to immense degradation and pollution due to huge amount of domestic and industrial waste entering into it .The restoration of water quality is a major challenge to environmental managers .The study area is divided into 5 regions and water samples are collected .The qualitative and quantitative analysis of water samples are conducted to determine the amount of different pollutants present .The study identifies the critical pollutants affecting the water during its course through the city . The results are compared with the standard limits .Solutions are recommended to reduce the critical parameters and make water purposeful
Study on Optoelectronic-VLSI
VLSI-optoelectronics, also called smart-pixel technology, exploits the respective strengths of optics and electronic processing for the production of optical information processing systems of high performance. The recent integration of micron-size optoelectronic components such as emitters, photo detectors and spatial light modulators within VLSI electronic chips allows the fabrication of on/off chip data communication rate systems of the order of 1012 pin-Hz. Optoelectronic-VLSI (OE-VLSI) technology represents the familiar integration of photonic devices with silicon VLSI. It will be review the motivations and status of emerging OE-VLSI technologies and examine the performance of OEVLSI technology versus conventional wire-bonded OE packaging. The results suggest that OE-VLSI integration offers substantial power and speed improvements even when relatively small numbers of photonic devices are driven with commodity complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor logic technologies
Software Fault Prediction with Metric Threshold Using Clustering Algorithm
Software fault prediction using clustering algorithm metrics used to build the software fault prediction model software. However there are certain cases when previous fault data are not in present level. In software fault prediction using hierarchical Agglomerative Algorithm to predict the fault software and report the prediction in that software using previous version of algorithm kmeans and quad tree based algorithms, the clustering algorithm classified as unsupervised and supervised technique to predict the fault
Role of Media in Empowering Women and boosting Women Entrepreneurship in small cities in India
The empowerment of women is much needed for the social and economic growth of any society. They are the creators, teachers and developers of any human generation. Although the stand of women socially and economically and the scenario of women entrepreneurship are gradually changing in big cities, the small cities still face a challenging environment on this issue at this point of time. The social ill treatment and the negligence of economic decision powers to them in such small areas of the countryespecially, directly fall out for this research subject. While on the other hand media being the fourth pillar of our democracy has certain duties to follow in the betterment of society. It can play the role efficiently in transmitting information to society in empowering women by educating the society about their stand and worth. It can even awake the inner sense of potential women possess and can turn them to be a better entrepreneur. Moreover, it can even promote it better by inspiring the rest of the society by the stories of successful women entrepreneurship. This article thus conceptually researchesthe role media plays in empowering women and in boosting women entrepreneurship in the small cities
Enhancing Text Mining Using Side Information
One of the widely researched data mining problem in the text domains is Clustering. Classification, document organization, visualization, indexing and collaborative filtering are some of the various applications of this problem. Large amount of information present within documents is in the form of text. We cannot always retrieve data in a refined text format. It also contains a lot of Side Information, int the form of different links in the document, user-access behaviour, document provenance information from web - logs or other non-textual attributes. Large amount of information may be contained in these attributes for clustering purposes. To estimate the relative information is very difficult and cumbersome in most of the cases, particularly when some of information is noisy data. In such situation, integrating this side information into mining process can be risky, because it might result in either:1. Addition of noise into the data2. Improvement of quality of data mining process An ethical way is needed for performing the data mining process, and for maximizing the advantages of the use of this available side information. We are proposing the use of K-means algorithm for improved and efficient clustering of the information in this paper
Reduction of Leakage Current in Tristate Inverter Using High-K Dielectric
In CMOS applications as device scaling, obeying Moore’s law reduces the active area of the devices to nearly atomic dimensions. The high-k dielectrics need to be used to prevent the tunneling effects which increase the leakage currents. In recent years, several emerging high-k materials have attracted enormous attention as potential candidates for electronic devices. Silicon dioxide (SiO2) has been used as dielectric for more than 40 years because of its manufacturability and ability to deliver continued transistor performance improvements as it has been made ever thinner. Among the many potential high-k materials, LaAlO3 has recently attracted much attention due to its many advantages such as high dielectric constant, high bandgap, and amorphous structure up to high temperature. In CMOS applications as device scaling, obeying Moore’s law reduces the active area of the devices to nearly atomic dimensions. A Compact and Broadband Microstrip Stacked Patch Antenna With Circular Polarization
A compact and broadband microstrip stacked patch antenna is presented. This antenna consists of two stacked patches fed with an S-shaped impedance matching network (IMN) connected by a probe. With this S-shaped IMN feed technique, good impedance matching and broadside radiation is obtained. Circular Polarization (CP) is obtained rotating the upper patch 90° sequentially with respect to the lower patch and truncating the corners. Additionally with four symmetric L-shaped narrow slots on patches, compact operation is obtained. The above antenna is of 56x56x11.8 mm³. The 3dB beamwidth of 77° is obtained. Also a peak gain of 7.12 dB is obtained. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less than 2 for the impedance bandwidth of 20%. The radiation efficiency of antenna is 86.15%
Andro Tour - A vehicle tracking system with advertisement
A vehicle tracking system determines the position of a terminal with Android GPS receiver or PCS phone and displays the position on a digital map. Recently, vehicle tracking technologies have brought some breakthrough in many areas. “Andro Tour – A Vehicle Tracking System with Advertisement” is the system developed for the travel agency which provides all the required facilities to their customers when they are ready to plan for any tour. The system gives live monitoring of vehicle to the vehicle owner wherever his vehicle travels. It also shows location based advertisements on TV (if it is available) without human intervention. Also there is automatic change of advertisement according to area. The information about the number of vendors present in a particular area, will also be auto updated along with the advertisement. The customers without much effort get information of the Historical places, history of the place, nearby hotels, etc present on their destination site as well as vehicle owner gets information where his vehicle is and at how many places did it take a halt.A gps based tracking system combines the installation of an electronic device in a vehicle, or fleet of vehicles, with purpose-designed computer software at least one operational base to enable the owner or a third party to track the vehicle's location, collecting data in the process from the field and deliver it to the base of operation. This system also focuses on the advertisement part which helps to generate revenue for the vehicle owner
Recommender Systems
Due to the information overload recommender systems are becoming more popular now a day. Generally recommender systems are classified in to type’s content based and collaborative filtering. Content based approach provides recommendations based on users history of access/purchase (in case of e-commerce sites), whereas collaborative filtering provides recommendations based on the similar user interest. Both the approaches have their advantages and disadvantages. In our paper we provide a detailed study of various approaches for recommender systems, and problems with specified approaches and possible solutions
