Exhaust emission analysis on engine using biodiesel produced from broiler slaughter waste

    Get PDF
In this work, exhaust gas emission analysis was conducted for standard diesel, pure biodiesel, diesel (90%)+biodiesel (10%)-B10, diesel(80%)+biodiesel(20%)-B20, diesel(70%)+biodiesel(30%)-B30. Here the biodiesel used is produced from the broiler chicken waste.  Experiments are carried out using single-cylinder, 4-stroke, direct injected, water-cooled diesel engine at five loads between no load and a full load of 1500 rpm. Emission characteristics of the engine fueled with biodiesel and its blends with diesel were compared to standard diesel fuel as the baseline fuel. Overall, biodiesel blends, as compared to diesel, reduce NO, CO, CO2 and HC emissions, at full loads. It is also shown that biodiesel and its  blends having less EGT than diesel fuels

AI in Assisting the Elderly and People with Disabilities

    Get PDF
The focus of this research is to magnify those technologies that have been developed and that need more modification in their make. We will disclose some machines that have a great impact on the lives elderly and people with disabilities. As we know that artificial intelligence has advanced our life and now we can take advantage of it by using machines though that is related to defense or related to our daily life goods buying robots. These machines are not very common to everybody but we need to do it as these assist more than a human being to elder or disable persons. We also need to invest in these kinds of projects that can be fruitful to human beings. As it is clear that there is no sufficient human resources exist that can assist the elderly and people with disabilities. So ICTs are expected to play its part in assisting those people. In this age, 3D printers making better and better prosthetic for those in need. In the future we will reach a level that will make regular body parts inferior and before we know it the cyborg age will be upon us by this 3D technology. Also in the labs around the world bioengineering have begun to print prototype body parts like ears, noses, artificial bones and skin, even an entire face

Design and analysis of chassis frame

    No full text
Truck chassis is the structural backbone of any vehicle. The main function of the truck chassis is to carry the goods and payload placed upon it. The chassis frame has to bear the stresses developed and deformation occurs in it and that should be within a limit. This paper presents the study of the stress developed in chassis as well as deformation of chassis frame. The stress and deformation has been calculated for the chassis frame and the analysis has been done for the validation on the chassis frame. The model of the chassis has been developed in Creo (Pro-E) 2.0 and static structural analysis has been done in ANSYS WORKBENCH 15.0

Minimizing localization error and ensure security of DVHOP using random key approach

    Get PDF
Communication through the mobile network is need of the hour. Thus localization becomes important issue discussed in this paper. Algorithms are many which can be range free and range based. The DVHOP algorithm with random key is used to solve the localization problem. The localization is required since node when on the go will require to disseminate data then position determinism is paramount which is achieved with the help of localization. Distance could be of any range when mobile nodes are considered hence range free algorithm is considered. Security aspect of the data is paramount. Since node capture attack is common. Ways to detect and prevent the attack in terms of Random key is suggested. The result obtained will be in terms of the localization error which is given both in terms of localization with and without Node capture attack and random key

Effect of Rice Husk Ash (RHA) on Cement Concrete

    Get PDF
Cement is widely noted to be most expensive constituents of concrete. The cement industry is one of the largest producers of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide (CO2) emission from the concrete production is directly proportional to the cement content in the concrete mix; 900 kg of CO2 are emitted for the fabrication of every ton of cement. The entire construction industry is in search of a suitable and effective waste product that would considerably minimize the use of cements and ultimately reduces the construction cost. For this objective, the use of industrial waste products and agricultural byproducts are very constructive. Rice Husk Ash (RHA) is one of the promising pozzolanic materials that can be blended with Portland cement for the production of durable concrete. Addition of rice husk ash to Portland cement not only improve the strength of concrete but also forms the calcium silicate hydrate gel around the cement particles which is highly dense and less porous. Thus in the present investigation a realistic approach has been made using different techniques such as Compressive strength, Flexural strength using different percentage of RHA and varying curing period

A Novel Boosting Technique for Induction Heating Application with ZVS Soft Switching

    No full text
This paper presents a direct ac-ac converter boosting technique in induction heating (IH) application using half bridge configuration. The main design features are efficiency and user performance. Efficiency is one of the important parameter when designing a converter for induction heating application. The benefits of this direct ac-ac resonant converter under half bridge configuration are reduced number of components, low cost, reduced size of the converter for same power rating and direct conversion solution. Its operating performance and high frequency power regulation characteristics are explained on the basis of simulation. The simulations were obtained by MATLAB/SIMULINK

Performance Evaluation of Two Switch Buck-Boost Converter with and without Input Voltage Feed Forward Compensation-A Comparative study

    No full text
Renewable energy, which is clean, can be utilised as a replacement. Fuel-cell (FC) technology offers an efficient and effective alternative renewable energy source. Fuel cells become the main power source for fuel cell electric vehicles .Due to its soft characteristics, the output voltage of fuel cells cannot be directly connected to an inverter. So a DC-DC converter is inserted between them to make a match and improve the performance of traction motors. For the power converters of  Fuel  Cell Electric Vehicles, there is a great need for less component stress, smaller component size and higher efficiency. The  main objective of this paper is to conduct a comparative study of Two switch buck-boost (TSBB) converter with and without input voltage feed forward compensation(IVFF) function with  the inverting buck-boost converter to accomplish a performance evaluation of the same. In this comparative study, effectiveness of converter  unit, power quality concern of the produced DC output and its operation reliability are taken into account. Some simulation results are provided to emphasis the comparison between converter topology with and without IVFF compensation

A New Single Switch Resonant Power Converter For PV Application

    No full text
This paper develops a novel single-switch resonant power converter for renewable energy generation applications. This circuit topology integrates a resonant converter with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) with an energy-blocking diode with zero-current switching (ZCS). Only one active power switch is used for power energy conversion to reduce the cost of active power switches and control circuits. The active power switch is controlled by pulse width modulation at a fixed switching frequency and a constant duty cycle. When the resonant converter is operated at discontinuous conduction mode, the inductor current through the resonant tank could achieve ZCS of the energy-blocking diode. Accordingly, a high energy conversion efficiency is ensured. Given appropriately chosen circuit parameters, the active power switch can be operated with ZVS, and a measured energy conversion efficiency of the proposed topology of 97.3% can be achieved. Using MATLAB/SIMULINK the proposed converter topology is simulate

Numerical analysis of single phase fluid flow and heat transfer in a circular micro channel using nanofluid as a coolant

    Get PDF
An analysis has been done on micro- channel heat exchanger to predict the hydrodynamic and thermal behaviour. ANSYS workbench has been used for making geometry and meshing of the micro channel heat exchanger. In this study, an investigation of fluid flow and heat transfer is conducted on circular micro channel. CFD model has been solved by commercial software ANSYS/FLUENT. Nanofluid has been used as a coolant fluid to enhance the heat transfer rate because nanofluid has higher thermal conductivity than the base fluid. In this study, nanofluid, a mixture of Al2O3 and water, has been used. The required thermo physical properties of the nanofluid were measured and used in CFD model through user defined function (UDF) in ANSYS/FLUENT software.   The CFD result has been compared to the experimental work. And it has been validated that using nanofluid in a circular microchannel heat exchanger enhance the heat transfer. CFD result also predicts the wall temperature, pressure drop in channel and friction factor
