To study the influence of cooling holes in a combustor using CFD
Combustion process is the complex phenomena involving the principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and the chemical kinetics, which occurs in the limited space available inside the combustor. Moreover, proper combustion is the essence to enhance overall combustor efficiency. Combustor liner is provided with the cooling slots i.e. Film cooling and effusion cooling, to accomplice complete combustion and giving optimum temperature gradient required by the turbine blade. These cooling procedures will protect vulnerable combustor liner from hot combusted gas. In order to evince the effect of cooling slots, approach has been made to analyze combustor geometry using the application of CFD tools
Novel Approach for Enhancing Signature Verification System using Image Steganography Technique
In one of the most emerging technologies for automatic people recognition is Signature-based authentication system. User authentication systems that are based on knowledge such as password or physical tokens such as ID card are not able to meet strict security performance requirements of a number of modern computer applications. These applications generally use computer networks (e.g., Internet) that affect a large portion of population, and control financially valuable tasks (e.g., e-commerce). Signature-based authentication systems are good alternatives to the traditional methods. In spite of the advantages of Signature-based authentication systems over traditional systems, there are many unresolved issues, for example, how secure are Signature-based authentication systems against attacks? How can we guarantee the integrity of Signature templates? How can we combine cryptography with signatures to increase overall system security? Can we improve the feature of existing Signature-based authentication system, in respect of accuracy and speed? In this paper the Signature-based authentication techniques offer a reliable method for personal identification, the problem of security and integrity of the signature data is studied. This research work had proposed an architectural framework that will apply information hiding method into signature identification system. A signature watermarking method has been used to hide additional information into signature images by changing the least significant bit value of a random chosen pixel of the image. We have developed algorithms and techniques to address the above said problems of Signature-based authentication devices. First, we have analysed the weak points of Signature-based authentication system and develop algorithms to improve security by applying various approaches e.g. cryptography, steganography and cancellable signatures. The proposed approaches are shown to be very successful in improving the security of Signature-based authentication systems. Further, we have also developed various schemes to enhance the accuracy and speed of a Signature-based authentication system
Face Recognition in Non-Uniform Motion Using Raspberry Pi
A face recognition system based on the Raspberry Pi is proposed in this paper. Face recognition system consists of detection and recognition of using Haar like feature based cascade classifier. Features of face are extracted using Eigen faces algorithm. Proposed architecture generates one full face review. The various areas in which face recognition system can be used are home automation for security purpose, employee login system, automatic student attendance etc. Digital image features of Haar used in object detection. Adjacent rectangular regions at a specific location in a detection window are considered, sums of the pixel intensities in each region and difference between these sums calculated. The subsections of an image are categorized using the difference between the sums. The proposed system has an image database with human faces. An observation is made that among all faces the the region of the cheeks is brighter than region of eyes. So a common Haar like feature for face detection is a set of two adjacent rectangle. Speed of calculation is main advantage of a Haar like feature over most other features. Haar like feature of any size can be calculated in constant time due to the use of integral images.A face recognition system based on the Raspberry Pi is proposed in this paper. The Next Wireless Generation 5G
In this paper various aspects of 5G communication has been discussed. With the ever increasing demand in the data rate and the increase in population, the number of cell phone users are increasing at an exponential rate. The current communication network may not suffice the burgeoning users and limited spectra available, improvements need to be made. Hence we need 5G which would overcome the drawbacks of previous generation’s network. Here an extensive literature survey of 5G network is presented with prime focus on mm Wave based solution for 5G networks, Massive MIMO, Cloud Ran, and IoT using 5G
Design and analysis of contour bell nozzle and comparison with dual bell nozzle
The performance and the thrust delivery of the engine such as nozzles are in renovation for the greater performance. Modern combustion expansion system like in rocket nozzles will be updated with respect to the application. Bell and Dual bell nozzle is the One of such development. Four different types of Bell nozzle one duel bell nozzle is selected and studied using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the present paper. The project mainly focuses on design and analysis of contoured convergent divergent bell nozzle. For the simulation, consider a 2D , parabolic contoured thrust optimized axisymmetric nozzle. The priority is given to design a bell nozzle with negligible shock wave. The temperature effects are not taken into this study, the flow is purely cold flow (303K). A full length Bell nozzle created using Gambit software. The meshing and analysis of the Bell model were done using FLUENT software. Air is taken as working medium for the nozzle and also for the ambience. Only one half of the nozzle is simulated due to symmetry reasons, and symmetry boundary conditions are used at the corresponding planes. The nozzle walls were set as adiabatic and assumed to be hydraulically smooth. A control volume was constructed around the nozzle to take the interaction with the ambience. The behavior of flow along the bell nozzle is thus obtained
A Non-isolated Multi-input Multi-output DC–DC Boost Converter
A new non-isolated multi-input multi-output dc-dc boost converterbased on combination of a multi-input and a multi-output converteris discussed in this paper. This converter is useful for hybridizing different energy sources in electric vehicles. A hybrid power generation system uses two or more sources to balance the power supply. So advantages of different sources can be achieved. In this boost converter charging or discharging of energy storages can be easily done. This converter has several outputs with different voltage levels whichmakes it suitable for interfacing to multilevel inverters for voltage harmonic reductionwhich, consequently, reduces the torque ripple of electric motor in electric vehicles. The proposed converter has just one inductor. To verify the performance of the converter, simulations have been done in MATLAB-SIMULINK software
Characterization of Tea waste and Cooked waste as a potential feedstock for Biogas production
Tea waste and cooked waste can be utilized as an alternate feedstock to cow dung for production of biogas, a promising alternative energy source for the limited fossil fuels. A detailed analysis is performed on tea waste, cow dung and cooked waste. The content of ash, moisture, volatile matter, fixed carbon, lignin is described in proximate analysis while carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium content including Carbon:Nitrogen (C:N) ratio and pH value are measured in ultimate analysis. Detailed morphological analysis of the three types of feedstock has been determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In the present work, thermo gravimetric analysis carried out to find temperature points and ranges, in which de-volatilization of biomass occurs. Further, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and bio-logical oxygen demand (BOD) analysis has been carried out. It has been observed that the value of COD is higher for tea waste and cooked waste as compared to the cow dung. During ultimate analysis it has been found that C:N ratio of tea waste and cooked waste are very close to the optimum C:N ratio. A proposed analysis can be helpful for the efficient biogas production by using tea waste and cooked waste instead of cow dung. In the area of human livings, the cow dung is not easily available. By using tea waste and cooked waste, the bio gas production will be more as compared to the cow dung. Hence, the tea waste and cooked waste are more efficient than the cow dung. However, the alternate of cow dung are easily available
