The Role of Religious Identity in Political Affiliation and Voter Behaviour Among Muslim Youths in Nima

    No full text
This study looks into how a person’s religious self-view can steer their political leanings and voting choices among young Muslims in Nima. It kicks off by blending together stories from interviews and focus groups with numbers pulled from surveys, a mix-methods approach that, frankly, doesn’t follow a strict recipe but rather paints a broad, sometimes unexpected picture. Generally speaking, the data hint that faith isn’t just a quiet background detail; rather, it shapes opinions and guides voter behaviour. Many participants openly discussed how their strong, almost instinctive sense of civic duty, one that’s tied up with their religious beliefs – drives not only reactive voting but also a proactive push to see government reflect these values. This active engagement, by the way, isn’t confined to politics alone. There’s a compelling suggestion here that public health efforts could really benefit if policymakers take note of how closely religious and political identities are interwoven. In most cases, aligning health policies with the values of these young community members might boost trust and improve outcomes in a way that feels naturally inclusive. Altogether, the essay adds a nuanced voice to the ongoing conversation about identity politics, hinting that when we understand why religious communities vote the way they do, we can better foster both vibrant political participation and more thoughtful public health strategies

Implementation of Government Policy in Subsidising Electric Motorbike Purchases to Achieve Sustainable Environment

Abstract The government issued a policy of an electric motorcycle purchase assistance programme through the Minister of Industry Regulation Number 21 of 2023. This policy aims to accelerate the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia to create a sustainable environment. Subsidising the purchase of electric motors can be considered an appropriate policy from an environmental and energy diversification perspective. Economically, such subsidies can encourage the adoption of green technologies and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The type of research used is qualitative research using documentation data collection techniques and then analysed by reducing data, presenting data and then drawing a conclusion. This policy needs continuous monitoring and evaluation is needed to ensure that this policy is in line with the principles of a sustainable economy, including the integration of environmental, social, and economic aspects in decision-making. Are these incentives short-term or can they provide long-term economic sustainability? In further analyses, it is necessary to consider the concept of demand elasticity. The result of this study is that subsidies can increase consumer purchasing power for electric motorbikes, resulting in increased demand. However, the effect may vary depending on the price elasticity of demand. If demand is inelastic, the increase in price due to subsidies may not be proportional to the increase in demand, so this policy has not been fully implemented. Keywords: Implementation, Electric Motorbike Subsidy, Sustainable Environment

The Future of Islamic Political Identity in Indonesia: Social Polarization, Money Politics, and Substantial Democratic Challenges

This study analyzes the diversity of Islamic political identity in Indonesia within the context of electoral political contestation, focusing on the influence of religious sentiment, money politics, and social polarization on the quality of democracy. A key factor in the weakening of substantive democracy is the growing complacency among Indonesia\u27s younger generation, who, despite having formal voting rights and freedom of expression, are content with the declining quality of democracy. This study explores how complacency toward democracy interacts with Islamic political identity in elections, as well as the implications of social polarization, which has the potential to reduce social inclusion and diminish the quality of democracy. The research employs a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, examining various sources related to Islamic politics, religious populism, and the dynamics of democracy in Indonesia. The findings indicate that although Islamic politics remains strong in Indonesia, with religious identity serving as a stable factor across generations of support, money politics and religious populism are increasingly dominant, eroding the quality of democracy and fostering public distrust in the political system. The study concludes that, despite efforts to evolve Islamic politics in a more substantive and ethical direction, significant challenges related to exclusive polarization and political manipulation hinder the development of a more inclusive and equitable democracy. The research calls for reform in political governance and the electoral legislative framework to ensure a more substantial and higher-quality democracy in Indonesia, while mitigating the negative psychological impact on public political participation

The Influence of ZIS, Islamic Human Development Index, and Investment on Indonesia\u27s Economic Growth: An ECM Model Analysis

    No full text
Economic growth refers to the generation of additional income for a society within a specific time frame through economic activities. This is often measured by GDP. However, despite an increase in GDP, Indonesia\u27s economic growth as a developing country is still considered unoptimal. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of ZIS, I-HDI, FDI, and Domestic Investment on Indonesia\u27s economic growth from 2013 to 2022, spanning ten years. This study adopts a quantitative approach and uses an ECM model. The findings indicate that ZIS, I-HDI, and Domestic Investment have a significant positive long-term effect on economic growth, but their impact is not significant in the short term. Conversely, FDI has an insignificant negative effect on both long-term and short-term economic growth. When analyzing all the factors simultaneously, the results demonstrate that ZIS, I-HDI, FDI, and Domestic Investment collectively have a significant effect on economic growth in both the long and short term. Building on these findings, policymakers should delve deeper into the specific mechanisms through which ZIS, the Islamic Human Development Index, FDI, and Domestic Investment influence economic growth in both the short and long term. By understanding the intricate connections between these factors and economic growth, policymakers can develop more targeted and effective strategies to promote sustainable and balanced economic development

The relationship between fake news variables, Muslim customer personality, and anger towards hateful behavior towards brands were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling from the Warp Partial Least Squares regression program package. Empirical research shows the influence of fake news, Muslim personality, and anger on brand hatred. The test results show that religiosity can be a moderating variable between fake news, Muslim personalities, and anger towards brand hate for halal products. Hatred about the brand can be suppressed if the company provides information quickly regarding the products offered, and this news can be quickly verified through social media; the information provided is straightforward to understand, and consumers are always optimistic and able to provide good perceptions so consumers do not feel they hate food and beverages and can ensure a halal product

This paper presents an overview from a systematic search of the published literature on health risks and services in the Hajj for 2015-2019, with the aim of providing health policy recommendations to prevent health risks. Of the 335 studies initially identified, 30 met the inclusion criteria for the review. Studies identified were diverse in methodology and focus. Hajj has posed substantial health related problems to the pilgrims, possible public health threats to the indigenous population, between host and home countries, and also to the global health security. A good strategic public health plan for physical and mental health for the pilgrims prior to departure should be implemented. It is important to improve the health facilities and use well-trained medical personnel during Hajj. Health monitoring among pilgrims after home arrival should be done. These measures should be continuously done in order to minimize the risks and negative impacts.Although, improvement was observed throughout the years, there are always new public health challenges in each Hajj season. Islamic radicalism in Indonesia has evolved from merely an ideology to a full-blown terrorist movement. In the context of the spread of Islamic radicalism in Indonesia, Banyumas Regency is categorized as a yellow zone, signifying it is under surveillance by Densus 88 and BNPT. Islamic radicalism is triggered by numerous factors, with one of the primary causes being a textualistic and non-comprehensive understanding of religious texts, including hadith. Particularly problematic are hadith with radical connotations. Islamic scholars play a crucial role in deradicalization discourse. Traditionally, Islamic scholars have been associated with the male gender; however, there are now many female scholars whose Islamic thought contributes significantly and is accessible to the public, including female scholars in Banyumas Regency. Through fieldwork involving observation, interviews, and document analysis, and subsequent data analysis using theories of textualist and contextualist understanding and Islamic moderation, it was found that female scholars in Banyumas Regency interpret hadith with radical connotations contextually and possess moderate Islamic thought and practices
