Get PDFThis scientific work aims to discuss the strategy of inheriting cultural values
through the performing arts for Balinese millennials in the digital era.The
digital era which is synonymous with advanced technology, computerized
systems, the internet is a challenge in itself for the preservation of the
culture of each region in Indonesia. The question :1) why the Balinese
culture valuesis important for the millennial generation in Bali?; 2) how is
the cultural value inheritance strategy carried out by the Balinese people in
the digital era?This qualitative research targeting millennials was
conducted in Bali, which is known to develop a culture-based tourism
industry. The research data were collected through field observations,
literature study, in-depth interviews with actors and observers of Balinese
arts and culture. The data analysis was conducted in a descriptive
qualitative manner using symbol theory and social action theory.The results
show that: First, the Balinese cultural values is very important for millennial
generations to: (a) ensure the continuity of local cultural traditions, (b)
maintain local cultural identity, (c) maintain noble cultural values, from
identity and reinforce it. The character of the millennial generation as the
nation's successor. Second, the inheritance of cultural values of the
millennial generation is carried out by:(1) informal strategies namely
through the family and local community (social activities, dancing skills,
singing), enculturation of cultural values for millennial generation through
digital media, (2) formal strategies namely through the initiative of the
authorities, related agencies (education and culture, tourism office,
customary institutions) to support the sustainability of traditions and local
cultural values. As a research finding, the inheritance of cultural values
requires active participation of families and local communities

The work was inspired by the conflict between the Benoa Fishermen

abstraction of forms, as well as symbolization, as well as through
metaphors originating from aesthetic moments, then communicated so
that a sense of togetherness which is oriented to the values of tolerance
and humanity which is protected by law, is always used as a guide for life
and maintained its honor.

metaphors and symbols, then carry out various Experimentations and
improvisations in material processing and techniques, so that the
execution of the embodiment of the work (forming) can present the

yang sifatnya sakral ataupun profan dan menghibur. Kondisi seperti ini mendapatkan
respon yang sangat positif di kalangan kaum kaula muda Bali yang mana event-event
tersebut terus dikembangkan secara intens dan berkelanjutan untuk melahirkan inovasi
dan kreativitas seni yang baru guna memperkaya khasanah seni yang ada di masingmasing
