Exploring the impact of digital tourism experience on behavioral intentions: the role of vivid memory among international visitors to Surabaya
The development of digital technology affects our daily life, including the tourism industry. The trend of digital tourism or smart tourism technology in a tourist destination can increase the uniqueness and value of a tourist destination. This research aims to analyze the influence of digital experience on foreign tourists behavioral intentions in Surabaya with vivid memory as a mediation variable. Digital experience refers to experiences obtained through digital technology, such as websites, social media, and destination applications. Vivid experiences that cause vivid memories, often encourage tourist behavior, such as revisit intentions or recommendations to others. This research uses quantitative methods with Partial Least Squares (PLS) data analysis techniques involving 147 foreign tourists who are or have visited Surabaya. The research results show that digital experience has a positive and significant influence on vivid memory and tourists behavioral intentions. Vivid memory is proven to act as a mediating variable in the relationship between digital experience and behavioral intentions. Therefore, the use of digital technology in Surabaya tourist destinations in an effort to provide a digital experience for foreign tourists visiting Surabaya needs to be improved
PENERAPAN DESAIN UNIVERSAL DI ERA NEW NORMAL PADA FASILITAS KANTOR KEMITRAAN INDUSTRI DI SURABAYA
Humans have various characteristics, from height, race, habits, and
others, therefore the needs of humans, in general, are also different. With
this difference, the interior design used to support the needs must be used
by all humans. This need is called universal design. On the other hand, the
world is being hit by the COVID-19 virus which is changing peoples habits.
In fact, the implementation of universal design in interiors is less than
optimal, coupled with a significant change from the new normal problem
that makes many changes to the architecture, especially interior design in
public spaces. With this description, this design focuses on the needs and
problems of universal and new normal design with the design results in the
form of applying concept applications in interior design such as circulation,
overall design, and furniture design that adapts to concept needs. The
design uses the design thinking method with 9 stages (understand,
observe, point of view, ideate, prototype, test, storytelling, pilot and
business model) with the final design result in the form of a set of working
drawings and 3D interior drawings

Effects of Short-Term (20-Day) Alternate-Day Modified Fasting and Time-Restricted Feeding on Fasting Glucose and IGF-1 in Obese Young Women
Background: Obesity is a metabolic condition that may impair insulin sensitivity and disrupt glucose homeostasis. Since insulin and glucose affect insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), disruptions in this axis may elevate the risk of chronic diseases. Intermittent fasting (IF) modulates metabolic parameters, but the impacts on glucose regulation and IGF-1 remain underexplored. This study aimed to assess the short-term effects of two IF types, time-restricted feeding (TRF) and alternate-day modified fasting (ADMF), on fasting blood glucose (FBG) and IGF-1 in obese young women. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was conducted over 20 days. The 31 subjects were allocated into ADMF (n = 10), TRF (n = 11), and Control (n = 10). After excluding dropouts and outliers, the final sample consisted of 22 subjects (ADMF = 7, TRF = 8, Control = 7). FBG and IGF-1 serum were measured pre- and post-intervention. Results: The FBG post-intervention significantly increased in TRF (p = 0.001) and ADMF (p = 0.036) groups, but not in Controls. Only the TRF group showed a significant reduction in IGF-1 levels (p < 0.001). Nevertheless, the ADMF group exhibited substantial decreases in body weight (p = 0.047) and visceral fat (p = 0.017). Conclusions: A 20-day IF in obese young women induced distinct metabolic effects: TRF lowered IGF-1, ADMF reduced adiposity, and both
regimens increased FBG. These findings suggest that early changes in glucose regulation are highly dependent on the specific dietary regimen used. Specifically, TRF predominantly influences endocrine regulation (IGF-1 axis), while ADMF favours adiposity reduction. The concurrent rise in FBG may reflect a transient shift in glucose homeostasis during the early stages of fasting
Reiterating the Spirit of Place: A Framework for Heritage Site in VR
This study proposes and tests a virtual reality (VR) framework aimed at reiterating the Spirit of Place (SiP) of heritage sites, conceived as a perceiver’s perception of place formed through the dynamic interplay of tangible and intangible influences within a given location. The framework applies Gilles Deleuze’s concepts of ‘difference in itself’ and ‘repetition for itself’ to create interpretive VR experiences that evoke SiP by integrating natural features, built structures, cultural memories, historical narratives, cultural narratives, and symbolic associations. Through a controlled experiment involving both video and VR interactions with heritage sites, participants reported elevated emotional connections and a deeper engagement with SiP in the VR environment. This confirms that VR can serve as an effective medium for heritage preservation, capturing the site’s distinct identity and fostering embodied engagement shaped by users’ memories and cultural familiarity. These findings validate the framework’s potential to convey the unique identity of heritage sites, offering a transformative tool for virtual heritage applications
Comparative Performance of Precast Column-To-Foundation Connections: A Review
Since the introduction of precast concrete as a structural element in the early 20th century, precast concrete has evolved significantly into an essential construction technology in various modern construction projects. This is due to several advantages of precast concrete, such as time efficiency, relatively lower costs, good quality control, and environmental friendliness. However, precast con- crete also has disadvantages when applied as part of a seismic-resistant building framework, primarily in the connection between elements, which does not per- form as well as monolithic joints in terms of structural performance. The precast column-to-foundation connection is one of the most critical connections, as it experiences the largest axial-moment combination forces in a structure. Com- monly used types of precast connections include pocket connections, baseplates, anchor connections, and grouting sleeves. The results of previous research reviews suggest that pocket connections demonstrate reliable structural performance, pro- vided the column’s embedment length into the foundation exceeds 1.0 Diameter. Meanwhile, the structural performance of baseplate and anchor connections is significantly influenced by the thickness of the baseplate, the number of anchors, and their configuration. For grouting sleeve connections, the key factors are the diameter and spacing of the sleeves, as well as the length of the reinforcement bars. On average, test results for precast column-to-foundation connections indicate that all the connections above can achieve the strength of monolithic joints. However, structural performance characteristics such as ductility, energy dissipation, and stiffness degradation require further modifications to match the performance of cast-in-place monolithic joints
THE CONTRIBUTION OF FOOD CONSUMPTION VALUE IN SHAPING FOOD DESTINATION IMAGE AND BEHAVIORAL INTENTION: THE PERSPECTIVE OF FOREIGN TOURISTS IN BALI
Eating local dishes at a tourist’s destination is crucial. This study explores the key
drivers of foreign tourists’ behavioral intention toward local Indonesian food. A model examining food consumption value, food destination image, and behavioral intention was investigated using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). This descriptive study involved quantitative data using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire as the data collection method. The sampling method was judgmental, where the respondents were 201 foreign tourists visiting Bali and sampled local cuisine. The author distributed questionnaires to foreign tourists through online and onsite visits to tourism places and restaurants in Bali. The findings reveal that the impact of food consumption value on behavioral
intentions is partially mediated by food destination image. This means that while food consumption value positively and significantly affects behavioral intentions, it also significantly influences behavioral intention through tourists’ perceptions of the destination. Food consumption value has a significant influence on food destination image and food destination image has a significant influence on the behavioral intention of foreign tourists. The findings imply that food business owners and food destination marketers need to strategically develop and design effective promotions to promote local food and build a good image of a food destination to attract more foreign tourists

Sustainable Tourism Experiences: The Role of Digital Technology and Government Support in Creating Tourists’ Memorable Experiences
sustainability practices in the tourism industry offer significant benefits to destinations, particularly when supported by digital technology and government involvement. thisstudy investigates how sustainable tourism experiences influence the memorableexperiences of foreign tourists, with digital technology and government support asmoderating variables. data from 270 foreign tourists across four cities in indonesia wereanalyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (pls-sem). the resultsindicate that socio-cultural factors are the most significant influencers of tourists’memorable experiences, with environmental factors also playing a key role. in contrast, economic factors do not significantly affect the memorability of tourists. in addition, there is evidence that Government support strengthens the impact of socio-culturalaspects on memorable experiences, particularly through initiatives that foster culturalengagement while ensuring travelers feel safe. digital technology, however, plays a dualrole: it either strengthens or weakens the influence of sustainability practices on tourists’memorable experiences, depending on how it is integrated into the experiences. thesefindings emphasize the critical role of sociocultural elements in shaping touristmemories and highlight how digital technology and government support either amplifyor mitigate the effects of sustainable practices, offering valuable insights for tourismstakeholders to enhance the value of the experience
