Financial naivety, excessive gaming, and compulsive buying influence cryptocurrency continuance intention: the mediating role of overconfidence and risk tolerance

    No full text
This study seeks to investigate the investment persistence among individuals who have maintained cryptocurrency holdings in the previous year. Financial naivety, online compulsive buying, and excessive gaming behaviours influence continuance intention, either through overconfidence or risk tolerance. The sample comprised 1,097 participants selected from the five provinces of Indonesias most significant internet user bases. Structural equation modeling is utilised in this study. This study demonstrates that excessive gaming behaviour and financial naivety are associated with continuance intention, either directly or indirectly, via overconfidence or risk tolerance. Investors should be cautious regarding their financial naivety and excessive gaming behaviour, as these elements increase the tendency to be overly optimistic. The findings are consistent with the Dunning-Kruger effect. Conversely, this study fail to substantiate the correlation between compulsive buying and continuance intention. The implication is to provide investors with valuable insights into the psychological effects of specific behaviors on investment decisions

This paper aims to reflect on the transformation of roofs from merely providing shelter to becoming active thematic spaces in cafe architecture. This study responds to the phenomenon of uniquely designed cafes, which leverage various spatial aspects, including roofs, to enhance the outdoor spatial experience. Roofs are no longer just protective coverings against the weather, but have the potential to be reimagined as imaginative, explorative active spaces. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach based on case studies in Indonesia within a tropical context to illustrate the diverse roles and functions of roofs. The analysis is conducted by identifying the configuration of roofs as active spaces. The primary objective is to uncover how the application of roofs as active spaces involves various responsive design operations and strategies. The findings of this study highlight three key aspects of the new role of roofs: extended functionality, creative configurations, and functional construction. It is hoped that these insights will inspire cafe architectural designs to explore various other architectural aspects, beyond the traditionally understood limitations of roof functions

INTEGRATION, RELATION, AND RECREATION: RETHINKING ARCHITECTURAL PROGRAMMING

    No full text
This study rethinks architectural programming as an innovative process, emphasizing the integration of contextual elements, the relational blending of multiple functions, and the adaptive reuse of existing spaces as recreation over time. Moving beyond the traditional understanding of programming as problem-finding-solving, this research redefines it as a dynamic framework bridging theoretical insights and practical design applications. Through a qualitative case study methodology, the paper examines three landmark projects with similar functions by Bjarke Ingels Group—8 House, The Mountain, and Urban Rigger—to explore the transformative potential of programming. The analysis positions programming as an integrative tool that aligns spatial, functional, and contextual dynamics to address both immediate and future architectural challenges. Program mixing with relational functions is conceptualized as a strategic approach that harmonizes diverse functions within a single design, fostering innovative and hybrid solutions. Adaptive reuse, reframed as a multi-time design response, focuses on revitalizing existing structures to meet evolving societal and environmental needs. These case studies illustrate how programming establishes a dynamic framework that enables architects to creatively reimagine constraints as opportunities. By emphasizing the principles of design analysis—realization, organization, and integration—this research contributes to the discourse on programming as a catalyst for architectural innovation and transformation. It proposes a shift in practice that highlights programming as a generative and responsive framework, inspiring a rethinking of architectural methodologies in the face of contemporary challenges

Kemenangan memiliki seribu ayah, sementara kekalahan, tragisnya diibaratkan sebagai yatim piatu, sepertinya menemui legalitas. Meskipun MK baru memutus perkara gugatan pasangan Prabowo-Hatta tanggal 22 Agustus 2014, satu per satu anggota Koalisi Merah Putih mulai berangsur mencari selamat sendiri-sendiri.

From sign to design: The role of domain transfer in redefining architecture locality

    No full text
This research examines the design process using conceptual frameworks based on domain transfer to suggest a new model for architecture based on local contexts. Plowrights conceptual framework is a way of developing new ideas, in which architecture may or may not be subverted with concepts that are significant; meanings may also be redefined with ‘big ideas’ (concepts), analogy, metaphor or significant questions from inside and outside the realms of architecture. This research utilizes case study method through design and reflects on the design process within the context of the West Java Cultural Center design competition. This analysis deconstructed and explained the design process using the conceptual framework, identifying unique representations of crosscultural and West Java culture as the basis for an architectural program. The case was used to understand the transformational architectural syntax occurring from local signs and symbols as evidence of innovation. The results of the case study fell within three areas: concepts as a way to achieve a place of innovation (hypothesis), transferring ideas based on locality into elements and syntax (transfer), and bringing them all together into a coherent design (coherence). Domain transfer was redefined in this case study as the translation of symbolic values and cultural attributes from non-architecture into architectural form and elements in pursuit of contextual design innovation

    No full text
What happens when a character exemplifies the essence of nurturing, protection, and unconditional love? In the webtoon Cewekku Galak, Yoo Ah-rin emerges as a mother-like figure whose defining traits such as nurturing, protecting, and unconditionally loving profoundly shape the lives of people around her. This study will be using Carl Jungs mother archetype theory, John Bowlbys attachment theory, and Melanie Kleins object relations theory to explore how these qualities foster emotional security, stability, safety, trust, and a sense of acceptance in other characters. At the same time, it reveals the unintended consequences of her care, such as emotional dependency and obsession. By analyzing the dual impact of her role, this research highlights the complexity of maternal figures in fiction and the enduring significance of unconditional love in storytelling
