    No full text
Kewirausahaan makin terasa penting ketika ekonomi sedang krisis.

Relation between Two Generations in Sasa Santan ala Sisca, Check! Advertisement

    No full text
The ultimate goal of advertising is to sell products. There are many unique ways that producers create their advertisements, one of which is the Sasa Santan ad featuring two Sisca. The previously viral dispute on the social media platform Tik Tok between chef Sisca Soewitomo and influencer Sisca Kohl made netizen believe it was a real incident, but it turned out to be just an advertising gimmick to attract viewers to watch the ad. This intrigued us to analyze the message conveyed through the depiction of the relationship between two generations presented in the Sasa Santan advertisement. The research method uses Roland Barthes semiotic analysis to reveal the myths within the ad. Coconut milk, a product made through the process of grating coconuts, is now presented in an instant form is more easily accepted by the younger generation compared to the older generation. This smart advertising strategy attempts to challenge the myth that something produced instantly and in mass quantities cannot compete the taste of coconut milk processed manually by grating and squeezing fresh coconuts. The ad also seems against the habit that in cooking, the younger generation must obey to traditional methods taught by mother. Moreover, coconut milk which was previously considered to contain cholesterol, is now presented as a healthy product because it contains Omega 3. The representation of Sisca Kohl as the younger generation is depicted as being able to convince Sisca Soewitomo, her senior, to use Sasa Santan because this product has the same delicious quality and is even healthier compared to coconut milk processed from fresh coconuts manually

    No full text
Purpose: This study aims to investigate how user-generated content (UGC) and firm-generated content (FGC) in social media affect attitudes toward halal tourism destinations, destination image and visit intentions among female Muslim (Muslimah) travelers. It also examines the role of travel habits as the moderating variable. Design/methodology/approach: This study adopts the Theory of Interpersonal Behavior (TIB) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to explore the motivation of Muslimah travelers to visit halal destinations. The survey was completed by 284 Indonesian Muslimah respondents who had visited halal tourism destinations in Indonesia. The SEM-PLS statistical technique was used to verify the associations between variables. Findings: This studys findings offer valuable insights for both theoretical understanding and practical applications. They suggest that both UGC and FGC significantly predict attitudes toward halal tourism and destination image, thereby influencing the visiting intentions of Muslimah travelers. Although UGC does not directly influence visiting intentions, it does play a significant role in shaping visiting intentions through its mediating effect on attitudes toward halal tourism destinations. In addition, the results indicate that habit positively moderates the relationship between attitudes toward halal tourism and visiting intentions. Originality/value: This research contributes uniquely and significantly in two aspects. First, it merges the TIB with the TPB to elucidate the decision-making process of Muslimah travelers when selecting halal destinations. This integration illuminates new insights into the intentions of Muslimah tourists. Second, this study examines the respective influences of UGC and FGC on the visiting intentions of Muslimah travelers to visit halal tourism destinations. By comparing UGC and FGC, the research provides valuable insights into the decision-making processes of Muslimah tourists. Given Indonesias status as home to the largest Muslim population globally, this study offers a novel perspective on the traveling behavior of Muslimahs and practical recommendations for the Indonesian tourism sector in the establishment and promotion of Muslim-friendly destinations within the country

This study reviews the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR), firm size, and the leverage on firm value. Panel data analysis is performed to test the sample in basic industries and the chemical sector over the years 2017-2020. To investigate any significant differences between CSR and firm value prior to the COVID-19 pandemic (years 20162019) and during the pandemic (years 2020), the authors performed paired sample t-testing. The results imply that the beneficial relevance of CSR performance could assist businesses in protecting their value at the start of a financial catastrophe, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, during the COVID-19 era, businesses must continue to invest in CSR initiatives to maintain stakeholders trust. This research advances previous CSR studies by offering further clarification on the conflicting results currently available about the influence of CSR on firm value during the COVID-19 period. Further research is necessary to determine whether the effects of CSR during the second year of the COVID-19 period differ from those during the pre-crisis period and the first year of the COVID-19 perio

Background –The mental well-being of employees is crucial for both the individuals and the organizations they belong to. Employees who enjoy mental prosperity are often more productive, underscoring theimportance of fostering a supportive work environment.Aim –This study investigates the impact of workplace spirituality on the mental well-being of employees in Java, examining the roles of happiness at work and mindfulnessas intermediary factors.Design/ methodology/ approach –Employing a quantitative approach, this research engaged 352 respondents from various organizations across Java. Data collected were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software, focusing on the relationships between workplace spirituality, happiness at work, mindfulness, and employee mental well-being.Findings –The study reveals that workplace spirituality significantly contributes to both happiness at work and mindfulness. Moreover, it directly influences employee mental well-being. However, while mindfulness serves as an effective mediator in this relationship, happiness at work does not significantly mediate the impact of workplace spirituality on mental well-being. This suggests that the pathway through which workplace spirituality affects employee mental well-being is primarily through mindfulness. Conclusion–Workplace spirituality emerges as a positive force, enhancing employee happiness and mindfulness, which in turn, contributes to better mental well-being. The study underscores the importance of mindfulness as a mediating factor, highlighting its role in leveraging spiritual values in the workplace to support employee mental health.Research Implication –The findings suggest that organizations should consider integrating mindfulness training and spiritual values into their employee development programs. Such initiatives can help mitigate stress, anxiety, and work-related pressures, fostering a healthier and more supportive work environment conducive to employee growth. Limitations –While this study identified happiness at work and mindfulness as potential mediators, the former did not significantly mediate the relationship between workplace spirituality and mental well-being. Future research might explore alternative mediating variables to fully understand the dynamics at play

The integrated smart system to assist elderly at home

    No full text
Some elders prefer to live independently rather than in a nursing home. However, they need to be assisted because of health and safety reasons. We developed an integrated system consisting of a smart home, a mobile robot, and a wearable device, using message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT) protocol to communicate with each other. The smart home can be monitored and controlled via a mobile application. We use the telepresence robot equipped with a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor to perform simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) and autonomous navigation. The wearable device application is used to detect older adults heart rate, the steps taken, and the burnt calories. We also add pose detection and location estimation using a depth camera powered by an efficient deep-learning algorithm. We also developed an Android application as a dashboard that monitors and controls all system components. Our system can facilitate communication between its various components

This study intends to demonstrate the impact of board busyness through board multiple directorships and ESG scores towards firm value in Thailand within the period of 2018-2022. Theoretical frameworks such as the resource dependence theory and stakeholder theory explicate the two hypotheses developed for busy directors and ESG score. A director has multiple directorships when he/she has more than three board roles in other publicly listed firms, excluding private organizations and foundations. This researchs population are listed non-financial firms in Thailand Stock Exchange that has ESG score in Refinitiv database for five consecutive years during 2018 to 2022. Final data sample are 28 non-financial companies resulting in 140 observations. Directorship and board size were hand collected from annual reports. Panel data regression with random effect model is used, and results show that there is no association between multiple directorship and firm value. On the other hand, ESG shows a positive and significant relationship towards firm value. This research supports the belief that ESG scores have a notable impact on firm value based
