TAKE-BACK STRATEGY SELECTION FOR SMARTPHONES IN A CLOSED-LOOP SUPPLY CHAIN USING THE AHP WITH BOCR METHOD

    No full text
As smartphones become ubiquitous around the world, sustainable management practices to mitigate the environmental impact of electronic waste are becoming increasingly urgent. Thus, we combined the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and a Benefits, Opportunities, Costs, and Risks (BOCR) analysis to evaluate several smartphone take-back strategies in Indonesia’s closed-loop supply chain. We examined trade-in options, with and without upfront fees, contracts with providers, and donation initiatives. Through a survey distributed among diverse demographic segments (business owners, managers, staff, contract staff, and students), we captured a wide array of stakeholder perspectives on the methods preferred for smartphone recovery. Business owners and contract staff were found to prefer trade-ins with upfront fees, whereas the other groups preferred trade-ins. In addition, a sensitivity analysis revealed that, if the weight of the benefits increased, donations became the most popular alternative for all groups except for students. Therefore, this article contributes to the literature on supply-chain management by offering insights into the stakeholder preferences that drive the adoption of sustainable and efficient product-recovery strategies in telecommunications

    No full text
Reading is a crucial skill that should be learned from an early age, as it plays a vital role in daily life. While most children can easily learn to read, some struggle with the process. Therefore, effective learning media are needed to support childrens reading development. This study develops and evaluates an educational game to assist young children in learning to read. Unlike previous studies, the game integrates multiple interactive modes that reinforce word recognition, spelling, and sentence construction through auditory and visual cues. The game features a simple user interface, a collection of 100 open vocabulary words, and three gameplay modes designed to support different aspects of early reading skills. The games effectiveness was assessed through an experiment involving 12 kindergarten students, divided into a game-playing and a non-game-playing group. The findings indicate that the educational game can enhance kindergarten students reading skills. Moreover, the game increases students enthusiasm and motivation for learning to read. However, further improvements, such as additional features and platform expansion, are necessary to make the game more accessible to a broader audience

    No full text

Sustainable Values in the Structure of Traditional Osing Houses in Indonesia

    No full text
The worldwide energy crisis is causing people in most countries to reduce their energy use to prevent the next generation from being unable to fulfill their needs. The Osing people use sustainability values based on traditions passed down from generation to generation with appropriate technology to fit the needs of the people and their environment. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review and data collection. Based on the framework used by Iwanmura, Osing house construction primarily focuses on the principles of low impact and health and amenity. This study reveals that the architectural design and construction process of an energy-efficient traditional building can be adapted to contemporary sustainable housing. The primary aim was to identify and analyze sustainability values in the construction process and techniques of traditional Osing houses in Kemiren Village, Banyuwangi, which can serve as a reference for modern sustainable architecture practices. The study reveals the uniqueness of traditional Osing construction using the local material Bendo wood, which can be dismantled from the foundation up to the roof joint systems, thus allowing the materials to be repaired and recycled down to the smallest parts and minimizing construction waste. The advantage of this building construction process is the use of traditional housing techniques to minimize the need for mechanical systems. This traditional construction method, using wood as the building material and considering climatic features, demonstrates how to achieve sustainable building values throughout all elements of a building that provides users with comfort and safety

    Get PDF
The rapid growth of social media has transformed the way people interact and communicate globally. This study investigates the role of social media influencers in shaping foreign tourists attitudes toward local food and their behavioral intentions, with a particular focus on the mediating role of attitudes toward local food. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaire surveys from 201 international tourists visiting Bali between July and August 2023. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique, implemented via SmartPLS 4.0, was employed to analyze the proposed causal relationships among social media influencers, attitudes toward local food, and behavioral intentions. The findings reveal that social media influencers positively and significantly impact foreign tourists behavioral intentions. Additionally, attitudes toward local food have a significant positive effect on behavioral intentions. However, social media influencers does not significantly influence tourists attitudes toward local food. Furthermore, attitudes toward local food does not mediate the relationship between social media influencers and behavioral intentions. This study offers valuable insights for destination marketers aiming to attract more visitors and enhance destination promotion by strategically leveraging social media influencers

Finding Random Integer Ideal Flow Network Signature Algorithms

    Get PDF
We propose a Random Integer Ideal Flow Network (IFN) Signature Algorithm that generates integral flow assignments in strongly connected directed graphs under uncertainty. Existing models often fail to incorporate the inherent randomness and integer constraints present in systems like social networks. Unlike traditional approaches that enforce integrality through large scaling factors, our method distributes integer coefficients across multiple canonical cycles, ensuring precise balance where the sum of inflows exactly equals the sum of outflows at each node. We introduce two pseudocode algorithms that uphold flow conservation while maintaining network irreducibility, ensuring autonomy through strong connectivity. Theoretical contributions include the decomposition of IFNs into canonical cycles and the construction of network signatures, string-based representations that allow efficient performance evaluation through direct string manipulation. These signatures enable quick validation of key network properties such as total flow, balanced link flows, and structural irreducibility. To demonstrate practical applications, we apply our algorithm to modeling family power dynamics, illustrating how IFN can create minimal yet resilient networks that balance autonomy with accountability. This framework lays the foundation for future advancements in predictive modeling and network optimization. To ensure reproducibility, we provide an open-source Python implementation on GitHub
