Get PDFThe article is devoted to the presentation of the results ofthe pilot study aimed to analyze the discourse conducted on the internet iorums about some pathologies occurring in the system of higher education and their implications for future graduates. Some selected conclusions were presented stemming from the analysis of comments posted on the forums, where the opinions of Internet users (including employers and academics) are presented, concerning the quality of high er education in Poland. The paper presents the changes in the views on the social role of a student, on the competencies of graduates and the value of diploma in higher education in the context of massification ofhigher education and in terms of employment opportunities. Get PDFCelem niniejszego tekstu jest analiza mechanizmów przygotowywania oraz zatwierdzenia narodowych strategii rozwojowych Kirgistanu. Artykuł bada również relację pomiędzy charakterem systemu politycznego a polityką rozwojową. Metodologia opiera się na analizie aktów prawnych regulujących procedury przygotowywania oraz zatwierdzenia krajowych dokumentów strategicznych, a także oficjalnych dokumentów wytworzonych w ramach systemu politycznego. Tekst bada również proceduralne aspekty powstawania strategii rozwojowych rządów prezydenta Askara Akajewa, Kurmanbek Bakijewa i Almazbek Atambajewa. Główną tezą pracy jest twierdzenie, że w trakcie ponad 20 lat niepodległości Kirgistan nie wypracował procedur prawnych określających tryb przygotowywania krajowych dokumentów strategicznych. W efekcie lokalne instytucje nie uczestniczyły w procesie opracowania projektów strategii, a przyjęte strategie nie uwzględniały rzeczywistych aspiracji i potrzeb lokalnych społeczności. Scentralizowany proces przygotowywania strategii charakteryzował się wysoką częstotliwością strukturalnych i personalnych zmian narodowych rad, a także przyjmowanych strategii rozwojowych

Habitual posture of fencers representing the Wielkopolska region
Get PDFIt is well known that long-term sports training has the influence on body posture (long-term effects on the body-specific
exercise). The issue is discussed on the example of competitive fencing. The aims of the paper was knowledge
about habitual posture of fencers, type and degree of influence of fencing training on fencers’ body posture and also
frequency of excessive values in spatial indicators describing fencers’ posture. The research was carried out in July 2013 among 23 fencers (mean age: 15 ±1.20 years; body height: 168.4 ±4.68 cm; body weight: 54.7 ± 8.26 kg). We measured 29 indicators in coronal, median and axial plane of pelvis and physiological
spine curvatures. Selected indicators of the pelvis and spine were evaluated with use of a computer-based
postural analysis. The most important in this method was that all measurements of spatial indicators were carried
out simultaneously. In the plane median the competitive fencers reveal increase in length, height and angle of thoracic kyphosis, lumbar
lordosis and trunk extension, maintaining at the same time optimal angle values of lumbar lordosis and thoracic
kyphosis. In the plane coronal occur: increased shoulder asymmetry, distance from the line of spinous processes,
and pelvis asymmetry also in axial plane. Taking into consideration continuous increase in advancement and intensity of training, there appears a strong necessity
for carrying professional diagnosis of health and body posture during periodic health examinations admitting
to competitive sports. Developmental exercises and those improving aerobic capability are essential during the
competitive fencing

Get PDFAccording to several researchers, from the end of the Cold War conventional militaries have confronted a new, brutal type of warfare in which non-state armed groups use asymmetrical tactics to successfully fight larger, technologically superior forces. Asymmetric warfare operations require soldiers, but especially officers with command responsibilities, to make deep changes of mentality, professional attitude and also of tactics with respect to the traditional preparation. What capabilities, then, are needed to deal with these demands? Who Eats with Their Eyes? The Role of Sensory Sensivity and Cognitive Styles in Flavour Perception
No full textLittle is known about cognitive mediators of colour-flavour perception
when they are atypically combined. We explored the possibility that cognitive style
and sensory sensitivity may act as intermediaries and might explain interpersonal
differences in making heuristic decision based on visual cues. 55 participants
(M = 21.42; SD = 2.12) were ask to complete two questionnaires. Afterwards they
were presented with three coloured samples of sweetened milk and asked to select
perceived flavour. Almost all participants used visual cue in determining what flavour
the beverage was at least in one sample. Neither reflection nor self-awareness
did significantly relate to correct recognition of the flavour. Nevertheless negative
significant association was found between sensory sensitivity and self-awareness
(rho = -0.40; p < 0.01).The results also indicate that women more frequently made
heuristic decisions. Findings confirm that the importance of visually acquired information
exceeds that from other senses. The results indicate that people either
focus on their inside or on the environment
