No full textWhen working in the court systems of the Warsaw Duchy and the Kingdom of
Poland, Wincenty Hipolit Gawarecki from Płock also dealt with legal theory. Among his
writings, a small study titled “The notice about peace courts” deserves special attention.
This work, issued 200 years ago, discusses organisation and functioning of the lowest
level courts, i.e. the peace courts, operating during both periods of Polish ersatz statehood.
The examination of this unique print might become an important contribution to the research
into history of the Polish state and law during the partition period.Podczas swej działalności w systemach sądownictwa Księstwa Warszawskiego oraz
Królestwa Polskiego, Wincenty Hipolit Gawarecki z Płocka zajmował się także teorią
prawa. Wśród prac tego autora na uwagę zasługuje wydane 200 lat temu niewielkie dzieło
zatytułowane: „Wiadomość o sądzie pokoju”, w którym została omówiona organizacja
i funkcjonowanie sądów najniższej instancji, tj. sądów pokoju, działających za czasów
istnienia namiastki polskiej państwowości. Analiza dzieła Gawareckiego może stanowić
istotny przyczynek do badań historii państwa i prawa Polski w okresie rozbiorów
The state of current research according to Polish forest law
No full textAlthough the Forest Act has been in force for 25 years, the forest law has not become
of any particular interest for juridical doctrine. The state of research achieved so far by
the doctrine of Polish law with regard to forest law is not highly developed; indeed, it can
be regarded as fragmentary. Related works are occasional only. Future research into the
forest law should include in particular the construct of forest ownership, the protection of
forests, and the status of the National Forestry Office „State Forests”.Choć ustawa o lasach obowiązuje już 25 lat, to jednak prawo leśne nie cieszy się
szczególnym zainteresowaniem doktryny. Stan badań doktryny prawa polskiego nad prawem leśnym nie jest wystarczający, a co istotne, jest fragmentaryczny. Pojawiają się jedynie
sporadyczne opracowania. Kierunkami badań prawa leśnego w przyszłości powinno
być w szczególności- konstrukcja własności leśnej, ochrona lasów, status Państwowego

Efficiency and quality of democracy in comparative politics: definitive and conceptual options of analysis
No full textThe article is dedicated to analyzing the historiography and conceptualization of the phenomenon of efficiency and quality of democracy. The author of the research outlined the definitive and conceptual parameters of comparative analysis of efficiency and quality of democracy, argued that different political regimes are more or less democratic. The article highlights various approaches, theoretical and empirical features of studying efficiency and quality of democracy, represents the most systemic/holistic indicators and methods of operationalization of democracy quality and efficiency. On this basis, the author actualized a unified approach to the analysis and conceptualization of quality and efficiency of democracy and argued that quality and efficiency of democracy is expedient to be mentioned not in a holistic continuum of political regimes, but when a certain state is actually democratic. As a result, the research confirmed that democracy is a multipiece category and is able to expand its efficiency and quality.В статье сделано попытку историографии и концептуализации феномена эффективности и качества демократии. Автор исследования очертил дефинитивные и концептуальные параметры сравнительного анализа эффективности и качества демократии. В статье выделены различные подходы, а также теоретические/эмпирические особенности изучения эффективности/качества демократии, представлены наиболее системные/целостные индикаторы и методики ее операционализации. Function and significance in educational and professional activity of the people aged fifty plus in terms of ageing process of the societies
Get PDFThe article has been an attempt at demonstrating how important it is to consider the OAPs getting
involved in educational and professional activity and how much strongly it is connected
with getting adapted to the old age. According to the concept of activity, the activity is a condition
of the emotional balance of an individual, it is a value appreciated by the society and it assumes
taking up the activity considering the strength and the potential of the individual. With
that in mind, educational and professional activity of the people aged fifty plus assumes various forms depending on the personal preferences and predisposition, or attitudes as well as the life
itself before rcaching the old age. They are also determined by many various factors the sources
of which must be searchcd for in extemal factors. The analyses presented are theoretical and
empirical in naturę. The theoretical part of the article covers the importance of senior citizens
being active in terms of getting adapted to the old age and successfu! ageing as well as educational
and professional activity of senior citizens, as comparcd with other types of activity and
its significance in active participation in social life by the elderly as reported in the applicable
literaturę. Theoretical considerations have been extended with the analysis of selected results o f
own research reported by the author into taking up educational and professional activity by senior-
age people in the Kujawy and Pomorze Province.Artykuł jest próbą ukazania, jak ważne jest zagadnienie podejmowania aktywności edukacyjnej
i zawodowej przez osoby w wieku senioralnym i jak bardzo silnie jest ono związane z problematyką
przystosowania do starości. Zgodnie z koncepcją aktywności, aktywność stanowi warunek
równowagi emocjonalnej jednostki, jest wartością cenioną społecznie i zakłada podejmowanie
aktywności na miarę sił i możliwości jednostki. W związku z tym aktywność edukacyjna
i zawodowa seniorów przybiera różnorodne wymiary w zależności od osobistych preferencji,
predyspozycji, czy nastawień a także przebiegu całego, poprzedzającego okres starości, życia.
Zdeterminowane są one również wieloma różnorodnymi czynnikami, których źródła należy
upatrywać w zjawiskach zewnętrznych. Zaprezentowane analizy mają charakter teoretycznoempiryczny.
Teoretyczna część opracowania poświęcona została problematyce znaczenia aktywności
w życiu osób starszych w kontekście przystosowania do starości i pomyślnego starzenia
się a także aktywności edukacyjnej i zawodowej seniorów na tle innych typów aktywności
i jej znaczeniu w podejmowaniu aktywnego uczestnictwa w życiu społecznym przez osoby starsze
w świetle literatury przedmiotu. Teoretyczne rozważania zostały poszerzone o analizę wybranych
wyników badań własnych autorki dotyczących podejmowania aktywności edukacyjnej
