No full textThe text is devoted to the analysis of language exponents used by W. Łysiak in the description of L. Wałęsa’s profile. The language material was taken from W. Łysiak’s set entitled “Mitologia świata bez klamek”, particularly from the chapter “Mit tytana Nikodema W.” Among the analyzed linguistic expressions phrases replacing L. Walęsa’s name, which are always of negative character, oscillating between irony and contempt; terms that can be stylistically characterized as colloquial and/or common; formative neologisms with a foreign compound clause, informing about the reproduction of what the basis says can be isolated. Selected examples illustrate the type of verbal aggressive behavior, clearly opposing the rules of linguistic politeness. They document the intentional disapproval of the object of evaluation, undermining the so-called own image, superposition of the language of emotion and ideology

Get PDFThe article presents the relations between the categories of individualism, collectivism and work ethic. Individualism and collectivism are shown as cultural syndromes and multi-dimensional categories that refer to attitudes and beliefs and are described as vertical and horizontal versions (of individualism and collectivism). The main features of work ethic treated as a system of attitudes and beliefs are: (1) centrality of work; (2) hard work; (3) wasted time, (4) disapproval of leisure time, (5) tendency to delay gratification, (6) self-reliance, (7) morality/ethics. The studies carried out on the sample of 414 students show that individualism, collectivism and work ethic are mutually correlated. What is essential is that stronger
relations with work ethic are represented by vertical and horizontal collectivism. It was shown in the analysis of regression that vertical individualism decreases readiness to act honestly. However, the dimensions of collectivism increase it. To sum up, two perspectives of relations are visible here: 1. aspiring to success that is connected with individualism; 2. sacrifice, delay of gratification and honest work that are embodied in collectivism
Anorexia Readiness Syndrome and Structure of Achievement Motivation Among Secondary School Girls

In view of these information, it was attempted (1) to recover source of achievement motivation among anorexia readiness syndrome components and (2) to circumscribe a structure of achievement motivation in young women with the anorexia readiness syndrome. The study was carried out on 203 girls (16 to 20 years of age). Among them 31 girls
were defined as having anorexia readiness syndrome. It turned out that (1) are numerous associations between achievement motivation components and anorexia readiness syndrome components and that (2) girls with anorexia tendencies are a far cry from their peers in domination, status orientation, competitiveness, braveness,
engagement and ambition
Pathways to Active Citizenship in Adolescence and Young Adulthood
No full textConsidering the importance of active citizenship, the goal of the present research was to identify meaningful predictors of intentions to participate in
politics in adolescence (Study 1) and young adulthood (Study 2). Based on the
assumptions of the civic voluntarism model, three main predictors were examined:
Resources (educational level), experiences in social networks (club membership,
important others’ attitudes toward political behaviors, political discussions), and
individual characteristics (attitudes toward political behaviors, internal political
efficacy). Despite the differences in age, both studies identified a strikingly similar
pattern of results: Especially experiences in social networks predicted changes in
young people’s intentions to participate in politics. These effects, however, were
mediated by the examined individual characteristics. While the effect of political
discussions was largely mediated by the young people’s sense of internal political
efficacy, the effect of important others’ attitudes was mediated by their own attitudes
toward political behavior

Osobowość młodych dorosłych a podejmowanie zadań rozwojowych związanych z rodziną
No full textTrwałości współczesnej rodziny zagraża poważnie duża dowolność w podejmowaniu ról i zadań związanych z dorosłym życiem - zwłaszcza z życiem rodzinnym. Niezbyt dobrze poznany jest związek właściwości osobowości z podejmowaniem roli małżonka oraz z podejmowaniem rodzicielstwa. Celem realizowanego badania była weryfikacja hipotezy dotyczącej różnic między młodymi dorosłymi realizującymi i nierealizującymi zadanie rozwojowe, jakim jest podjęcie roli małżonka i rodzica w zakresie właściwości osobowości. Badaniami objęto łącznie 620 osób. Jako potencjalnie różnicujących młodych dorosłych realizujących poszczególne zadania rozwojowe wskazano: cechy osobowości modelu Wielkiej Piątki mierzone Inwentarzem Osobowości NEO-FFI Costy i McCrea W adaptacji Zawadzkiego, Strelaua, Szczepaniaka i Śliwińskiej (1998), poziom samooceny (Skala Samooceny SES Rosenberga) oraz poczucie umiejscowienia kontroli (diagnozowane za pomocą Skali I-E w pracy autorstwa Gliszczyńskiej, 1990). Przeprowadzone analizy wskazały na istnienie istotnych różnic w zakresie otwartości na doświadczenie, sumienności i samooceny między porównywanymi podgrupami młodych dorosłych realizujących i nierealizujących zadanie rozwojowe dokonanie wyboru współmałżonka i wychowanie dzieci
Municipal Waste Management. New Responsibilities of the Local Government on the Example of Municipalities of Chełmno District
No full textWith effect from 1 of July 2013, the provisions involving mandatory takeover by municipalities
responsibilities of property owners in the field of waste management and responsibility for the entire process, came into force. The introduced legislation imposed on
municipalities various new tasks and responsibilities related to organizing principles and
different ways of dealing with waste.
The analysis of the implementation of new rules for municipal waste management in
the rural district of Chełmno, despite many criticisms and doubts in the initial stage of implementation
of these tasks, has shown that the local government units of the lowest tier,
complied with this task in a correct and consistent manner and in accordance with the intentions
of the legislator.Pierwszego lipca 2013 r. weszły w życie przepisy polegające na obligatoryjnym przejęciu
przez gminy obowiązków właścicieli nieruchomości w zakresie zagospodarowania
odpadami komunalnymi i odpowiedzialności za cały ten proces. Wprowadzone przepisy
nałożyły na gminy wiele nowych zadań i obowiązków związanych z organizowaniem
zasad i form postępowania z odpadami komunalnymi.
Analiza procesu wdrażania nowych zasad gospodarki odpadami komunalnymi
w gminach powiatu chełmińskiego, pomimo wielu krytycznych uwag i wątpliwości w początkowym
stadium realizacji tych zadań, wykazała, iż podstawowe jednostki samorządu
terytorialnego wywiązały się z tego zadania w sposób poprawny i zgodny z intencjami
ustawodawcy

Get PDFThe aim of this article is to discuss the question of politeness in the greeting forms in the chat communication, based on the Polish and the German chat. The analysis ofone hundred conversation openings in the Polish chat and another one hundred in the German one does not exhibit the uniqueness of the Polish politeness, which is frequently addressed in the Polish studies of politeness. According to this fact, the appearance of the chat platforms may be perceived as the beginning of a chapter in the history of Polish politeness. Even though it has not significantly altered the rules of politeness in all the communicative situations, it has undoubtedly introduced an entirely new standard of Polish politeness, which can no longer be overseen.Projekt Operacyjny Polska Cyfrowa POPC.02.03.01-00-0039/1
