Water supply ecosystem services of the former Kakhovka Reservoir
Full text linkKakhovka Reservoir (KR) on the Dnirpo River was one of the largest reservoirs in Europe. On the 6th of June 2023 at 02:50 AM the Kakhovka dam was demolished by RF military forces and as a result, by June 18-20 the Kakhovka Reservoir ceased to exist. In spite of its artificial origin, the KR supplied valuable ecosystem services (ESs) important for human being and natural aquatic and coastal ecosystems. The paper describes the key ESs of the Kakhovka Reservoir focusing attention on characteristic of the water-supply ES and its significance for the region. Supply of water for households and diverse sectors of the economy (provisioning ES) as well as providing water to ensure the functioning of natural ecosystems downstream of the KR were the most important ESs from the KR. Our estimates of the needs and analysis of actual volumes of water consumption from the KR by the population of the region (for drinking and economic needs), power generating stations (Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, Zaporizhzhya NPP and TPP), industrial enterprises, the agricultural sector (mainly for irrigation) show that in the absence of the Reservoir, the available resources of the Dnipro River cannot meet the needs of the region in water-supply ecosystem services as defined by the pre-war situation

회복을 위한 주요 시설, 우크라이나 도서관: 전쟁 중 지식, 문화, 지역사회를 지원하는 도서관의 역할 = Ukrainian Libraries as Centers of Resilience: Supporting Knowledge, Culture, and Communities During the Russian-Ukrainian War
Full text linkLibraries in Ukraine are essential for the development of society, providing access to knowledge, information, and cultural values. They serve as centers of education, science, and culture, contributing to the intellectual and moral potential of the nation. According to the Strategy for the Development of Library Services in Ukraine until 2025 (ULA 2015), libraries are an integral part of the sustainable development of a democratic society, meeting the information, research, educational and cultural needs of citizens. Ukrainian libraries are becoming multifunctional information resource centers, providing access to electronic resources and the Internet, and becoming important hubs of the community. During wartime, Ukrainian libraries adapt to support society by providing humanitarian aid, serving as shelters for displaced persons, and organizing volunteer initiatives. They assist the military by producing camouflage nets and trench candles while continuing their educational and informational mission through lectures, film screenings, and public awareness events. Libraries play a vital role in combating disinformation and preserving national memory and identity despite war-related challenges. They serve as volunteer and outreach centers, support cultural heritage, and collaborate with international organizations to secure aid for recovery and ongoing operations. The article examines the importance of libraries during the war in Ukraine, their role in societal resilience, cultural preservation, and humanitarian aid, and the need to protect libraries for the next generation.우크라이나의 도서관은 사회 발전을 위한 필수 시설로,시민들이 지식, 정보, 문화적 가치를 만날 수 있는 공간이다. 또한 교육, 과학, 문화의 중심지 역할을 하며 우크라이나의 지적 및 도덕적 잠재력을 키우는 데 이바지한다.‘2025년까지의 우크라이나 도서관 서비스 개발 전략 2025) ’(ULA 2015) 에 따르면, 우크라이나 도서관은 시민들의 정보주 사회의 지속 가능한 발전을 위해 반드시 필요하다. 우크라이로 성장하면서 전자 자원과 인터넷 접근성을 제공하는 등 지역 전시에 우크라이나 도서관은 인도주의적 지원을 제공하고, 실조직하여 사회를 지원하는 장소로 변모한다. 또한 강의, 영화 상지속적으로 제공하는 한편, 위장망과 참호용 양초를 만들어 군관은 전쟁으로 어려운 상황임에도 거짓 정보와 싸우고, 국가의하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 자원봉사 및 원조 활동 센터의 역할도 하여 회복과 지속적인 운영을 위한 지원을 확보한다. 이 글에서는 우크라이나 전쟁 중 도서관의 중요성과 사회적 회관의 역할과 다음 세대를 위해 도서관을 보호해야 할 필요성

Full text linkУ часи існування в СРСР спеціальних звань Головного управління державної безпеки (ГУДБ) Наркомату внутрішніх справ (НКВС) у 1935 – 1941 рр. в Одеській області працювало лише 3 співробітники спецслужб, які на момент роботи в контррозвідувальних органах належали до вищого начальницького складу, тобто мали звання від майора державної безпеки (ДБ) та вище. Йдеться про старшого майора державної безпеки Олександра Борисовича Розанова (1896-1937), майорів ДБ – Мойсея Григоровича Чердака (1900-1948) та Василя Яковича Левоцького (1894-1941). Короткий опис життя та діяльності Василя Левоцького, який тісно пов’язаний з Одесою, представлено у опублікованих біографічних довідках [18, 27, 34]. Автори статті ставлять за мету здійснити портретно-біографічну реконструкцію особистості Левоцького, що сприятиме більш чіткому осмисленню сталінського тоталітарного режиму, подоланні радянських стереотипів про культ ВУЧК-ДПУ-НКВС
