It is the general opinion that translation of literary works should be transparent and in the spirit of the original. The same applies for translation of personal names as one of particularities of a literary work. In addition to identifying protagonists, personal names play important role in their characterization and represent a literary character to the reader in a multilayer manner and in more direct way than in everyday life. Therefore, we believe that translation of personal names in a literary work should earn specifically important place in order to achieve genuine reception with readers of the translated literary work. The objective of this study is to present the results of comparative analysis of personal names of the characters in the Croatian source text, fairytale Kako je potjehtražioistinu and their versions in other target languages. The corpus includes release of all available translations of the fairytale Kako je Potjehtražioistinu(How Quest Sought the Truth) in English, French, Hungarian, German, Italian, Russian, Czech, Danish, Swedish and Ukrainian language printed during the last hundred years,ie of its publication in the collection of children fairytales Price izdavnine (Tales from long ago) until present. With consideration to translating procedures, various translating strategies applied in translation of personal names of the fairytale’s characters into different languages will be compared and highlighted in this study. Cross-cultural and semantic implications of translation choices will be observed and consequent conclusions will be made on extent of their authenticity. Abstract: This paper begins with explanation of importance of the control management in organisations and how controlling aspect of organisations plays an important role in achieving organisational’s best interests and goals that are strategically planned. Set of controls need to be implemented in order to decrease undesirable behavior and to encourage desirable actions. Individuals don’t generally comprehend what is anticipated from them nor how they can best perform their employments, as they might do not have some essential capacity, preparing, or data. Also, individuals have various inalienable perceptual and psychological predispositions, for example, a failure to prepare new data ideally or to settle on reliable choices, and these inclinations can decrease hierarchical viability. This paper suggests that the proper stimulation of employees in terms of different types of rewarding can result in higher achievements, both for the employee and the organisation

TThis study examines how reputation management (RM) activities influence consumers’ choice behaviors. In order to understand the relationship between them the possible consequences of RM activities such as corporate image, consumer trust, and perceived risk were analyzed as the antecedents of consumers’ choice behavior. Specifically, a structural equation model was developed for hypothesized relations between the constructs of the study. Empirical research was conducted using data from 232 individual consumers in Albania (n=109) and Turkey (n=123) to test our conceptual model. The data were analyzed through t-test and structural equation modelling (SEM). The study shows that RM activities obviously determine the constructs of corporate image and consumer trust positively, whereas they affect perceived risk by consumers negatively. The lower level of perceived risk through RM activities was found as a significant determinant of consumers’ choice behavior. HESITATIONS IN SPEECH PRODUCTION IN THE MEDIA

Nowadays we are witnessing a substantial growth in the number of radio stations, as well as a simultaneous decline in the quality of hosts’ speech, particularly its fluency. Whereas people may be quite tolerant of various hesitations in everyday conversations, listeners often find dysfluencies in the speech of radio hosts distracting and irritating, expecting the hosts to be skilled in controlling their output. This research paper therefore offers a contrastive analysis of hesitations in the speech production of English and Croatian radio hosts, with the aim of determining whether the frequency of hesitation markers can be related to the formal training of hosts. If so, we can suppose that greater fluency of speech may be achieved through practice. To this purpose we have analyzed eight minutes (480 seconds) of speech of 32 radio hosts, 16 American and 16 Croatian, with an equal number of males and females in each group. Also, half of the hosts work on public radio stations, and the other half on commercial ones. In order to obtain as objective results as possible, the analyzed samples were taken from different episodes of talk-shows on various subjects, as well as from different parts of the episodes (beginning, middle part and ending). The results indicate that there is no correlation between gender and fluency since there was no relevant difference in the frequency of hesitations produced by male and female hosts, in spite of the generally accepted popular view that women are more fluent and verbal than men. More importantly, the results indicate that fluency is an aspect of speech that can be improved through practice and formal training. A surprisingly similar number of hesitations in the speech of American and Croatian hosts confirms the fact that speech fluency is a cognitive aspect of language, independent of language specific features

ABSTRACT Magical realism in the novel areas of Latin America, known as the most productive period in the 1950s and is a narrative style emerged in the 1960s in different ways. The concept of magical realism, with a current nature to reach Turkey in the 1980s. Magical realism is particularly developed in the twentieth century Latin American literature. This approach is said to grasp the new reality as distinct from fantasy and fairy tales and emerge as an effort to tell. Nazli Eray (d.1945), the author is one of the major innovations brought to Turkish literature. 1959 is not yet in junior high penned 'Hristo Monsieur' and took a step into the world of literature. Although the move has reflected on the nature of the Surrealist movement that works. The purpose of this article, Eray Emperor's Tea Garden building in evaluating the direction of magical realism, is that this kind of time and gave her to examine how the shape of the space component. Nazli Eray participating in the seminar about the book data was obtained. The research and investigation methods were also synthesized data transferred to this article. When used in Turkish literature as elements of fantasy and space concepts, it has been involved in different aspects of literary works. The author's work is to describe the different aspects of the concept of time and space according to magical realism, it was found to be skillfully uses his magical realistic narrative techniques that indication. Eray, samples received by Gabriel Garcia Marcus, Sait Faik Abasıyanık, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, Stalin gave Sevim in the John and art works, taken from Evo porém and to synthesize their own idea of the world, has original works; the concept of time and space in this building is shaped using elements of fantasy. MANAGERIAL DECISION MAKING UNDER RISK IN COMMERCIAL BANKS: AN APPLICATION OF PROSPECT THEORY ON BANKS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

    No full text
The main objective of this research is to investigate behavioral factors in the managerial decision making under risk in commercial banking from the perspective of the basic theory in behavioral finance – the prospect theory. The study is important in that it contributes to the development of a comprehensive risk management approach in banking industry, by broadening already existing practices with behavioral finance findings, as summarized through the prospect theory. The theory explains the decision making processes, holding that managers become more risk seeking as their bank moves further below the specified targets and more risk seeking as their bank moves further above the specified targets. The theory is examined on the case of B&H banks from 1999 to 2015, in the light of returns on assets, returns on equity and capital ratio. Analyses show risk seeking among managers of banks below targets, whereas there is no evidence for risk aversion among managers of banks above target. Therefore, the prospect-theory-based model of managerial decision making offered in this research is suitable ground-basis to ingrain the behavioral insights into risk management processes in the banking industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Analysis of ACE I/D polymorphism in Gorani population

    No full text
Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) gene is 21 kb long gene that is located on chromosome 17q23. Protein coded by this gene, ACE enzyme causes conversion of inactive angiotensin I to active angiotensin II that presents key component of Renin Angiotensin System(RAS) that is known to functions in control of blood pressure and balance of fluids and salts in the body. ACE also increases degradation of bradykinin. It has been shown that ACE gene contains a polymorphism based on the presence (insertion [I]) or absence (deletion [D]) of 287 bp Alu sequence in intron 16. Accordingly, it leads to the generation of three genotypes: deletion homozygotes (DD), insertion homozygotes (II), and heterozygotes (ID). Studies have identified correlation between ACE polymorphism and different diseases as well as correlation between one of three genotypes and sport performance. The main aim of this study was to identify genotype and allele frequencies of ACE gene in Gorani population. Comparison of these results to the results of other population studies on ACE polymorphismswe aimed to understand genotype composition of studied population as well as to see if ACE gene presents suitable genetic marker that could be used in population studies. Genotypes of hundred unrelated individuals were determined by using method initially described by Rigat et al (1992). As overamplification of D allele can cause ID genotype mistyping, DD individuals were subjected to second PCR in which presence or absence of I allele was controlled. Results of the first and second PCR were detected by 2% and 1,5 % gel electrophoresis, respectively. Results of ACE testing revealed that Gorani population is in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium, where the most common genotype is ID(63%), followed by DD (20%) and II (17%) genotypes. When results of present study where compared to other population studies, the highest correlation was observed with Hungarian, Croatian, Serbian and Turkish populations. MDS plot as well as dendrogram revealed grouping of population according to geographical position, being more reliable based on continental distribution.
