Prospective English language teachers’ perceptions towards a new paradigm in foreign language education: Flipped classroom model
A current pedagogic approach is ‘‘Flipped classroom model’ which depends on the use of asynchronous video lectures and practice problems as homework at home, and active, group-based problem solving activities in the classroom. As a new paradigm in educational settings, flipped classroom model promotes student engagement and active learning with an emphasis on the development of problem solving skills and discovery-based learning. However, the role of flipped classroom model in foreign language teaching remains relatively unexplored in literature. In the present study, we aimed to take traditional lecture instruction one step further and integrated flipped classroom model into “Advanced Reading and Writing” course. In this context, a special website was designed to teach advanced reading and writing skills through videos and power point presentations at home, while students made practice in the classroom with the guidance of the teacher. With an aim to shed light on prospective English language teachers’ perceptions towards the use of flipped classroom model in language teaching, we carried out semi-structured interviews with 30 participants studying at English Language Teaching department at a university in Turkey. The results suggest that the flipped model has the potential to bring radical changes to language teaching and learning practices in future.

USING DATABASE AUDIT FOR ANALYZING ON HISTORICAL DATA
Abstract: Database auditing is one of the biggest issues in data security. Absence
of information auditing drives the business applications to the lost trail of business
procedures. To cope with auditing and in order to track operations and the actors of
those operations in time, we need historical data or temporary database. Legitimate
and exchange times are two important time-stamps in temporary database. In this
paper, we show the methods to handle database auditing in business exchange
operations, accurate times, and performers of the operations. These strategies
are separated in two sets; utilizing relational databases, and utilizing semi-structured

A STUDY ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE READING STRATEGY TYPES USED BY STUDENTS
This study is conducted in order to investigate the generic awareness of reading strategy use of
students and state the types of reading strategies used by them while performing a reading task. The
students responded to a 45-item scale that included three categories of reading strategies; before, during and
after. The findings obtained in this study indicated that the overall usage-level of the designated reading
strategies were at a medium frequency-level; therefore, it revealed that the students use the designated
strategies but not necessarily enough. On the other hand, the overall frequency of before-reading strategy
use was found to be highest among three categories, so it indicated that the students are generally conscious
of their comprehension process and they are planned before performing a reading task.

Motivation versus age variable in secondary-school learners of English language
Motivation is probably the most important factor for successful learning of any kind. This paper will attempt to explore the process of motivation for English language learning in secondary school learners considering the variable of age - its application or lack of it through the learning process itself, relevant factors which affect students, teacher’s role, the influence of parents, peers, and the environment, and to prove the hypotheses that a) motivation changes and decreases with the change of age in secondary school learners; and b) extrinsic motivation is more present than intrinsic motivation at secondary school level. This research problem will be examined through the method of questionnaire on the sample of 100 respondents – secondary school students (from first grade up to the fourth grade) of High Commercial School in Travnik. The paper will also attempt to discuss the types of motivation, types of learners, learners’ age, environment etc. and other learners’ variables, both through the recent theoretical studies regarding motivation in general (a detailed description of sources, characteristics and types of motivation), and, also, it will try to present a practical sample research of a decrease in motivation that starts at the upper-primary level and tends to decrease through the secondary level.

The importance of being critical – Polish EFL teachers' beliefs and practices
Sooner or later, countries like Poland will have to welcome immigrants from the Middle East and successfully communicate with the immigrants from different cultural backgrounds. I would like to argue that critical cultural awareness proves to be a cornerstone of the model of Intercultural Communicative Competence (Byram, 1997) and should be considered a prerequisite for developing the rest of the components comprising the model. The main aim of the present research paper is to investigate, analyse and discuss Polish EFL teachers' beliefs on the idea of including critical cultural awareness, a crucial component of intercultural competence, in the EFL lessons, teachers' teaching practices with reference to developing particular elements of intercultural competence in the EFL lessons and the possible discrepancies between their beliefs and practices. A questionnaire administered to 125 Polish EFL teachers and a case study of three practitioners, who were observed, interviewed and confronted in a focus-group discussion, were used to collect the relevant data. The results of my research study suggest that a lot of Polish EFL teachers declare that they consider Byram's intercultural communicative competence model (Byram 1997) relevant to foreign language teaching and learning in the present-day and seem to be willing to implement it in their lessons, yet many of those teachers appear not to prioritize intercultural competence in their teaching practice. This apparent discrepancy between language teachers' beliefs and their practices may stem from teachers' lack of sufficient intercultural training during their professional education. A need for implementing critical cultural awareness into the pre-service teacher trainings was identified.
