The biogas power plant is installed in Eastern Croatia with a rated power of 2x1 MW. Power quality indices of the biogas power plant Mala Branjevina 2 were measured before and after the connection to the distribution network. The biogas power plant is connected to the distribution network using a T-connection on 10 kV overhead line feeders connected to TS 35/10 kV Laslovo and TS 35/10 kV Cepin. Power quality indices for the biogas power plant were measured using the Fluke 1760 Three-Phase Power Quality Analyzer (class A), and were presented according to the Croatian standard HRN EN 50160/2010 which is in accordance with the European standard EN 50160. Short circuit ratio a between three-phase short circuit at the point of common coupling (PCC) and the rated power of the biogas plant were also checked in accordance with the HEP National grid code. In addition, the influence of the biogas power plant on the distribution network was also analyzed. Results show that all the parameters of the supply voltage satisfy limits determined by the Croatian standard HRN EN 50160:2010. Futhermore, harmonic distortion of voltage waveform is even lower after the plant connection. S jedne strane je Europska povelja o temeljnim pravima postala pravno obvezujući instrument, a time i dio primarnog prava EU.

Posebna pažnja bit će posvećena načinu i kvaliteti interne i eksterne komunikacije nosilaca pravosudnih i sigurnosno-zaštitnih funkcija prema građanima i unutar samih institucija.

    No full text
Newspaper is defined by the dictionary of Turkish Language Institution as “a publication which provides information on subjects such as politics, economy, culture and others, and which is published daily or for certain amount of periods.” However, modern era necessitates different definitions of the terms parallel to particular transformations. In this regard, the concept of newspaper needs to be redefined in terms of its definition and function. Modern societies have certain characteristics such as living together, being mobile and existing together with different cultures. Newspapers in modern societies position themselves within different cultures and undertake bilingual publishing facilities, which include the coexistence of different cultures. Published at Strasbourg in France, Alternative Newspaper, which occupies an important role in developing relations between Turkish citizens living in Europe and the societies that they live in, and which contributes to the preservation of identities and cultures of Turkish citizens abroad, will be the main subject of this paper. Dealing with problems of identity and culture due to the assimilationist policies that they face in host countries, Turkish citizens had the chance to enjoy their cultural identities and develop communication among them by means of this newspaper. In this research, we’ll analyze ALTERNATIVE NEWSPAPER within the context of newspaper’s function in intercultural communication. There are various factors, which make possible the analysis of the unique characteristics of this newspaper in this research, including the 7-year period that it has been published so far (with the title Alternative Newspaper since 2011), and its bilingual publication. Alternative Newspaper becomes an important counterpart of intercultural communication since it facilitates communication between the Turks living in Strasbourg and French society. This research will undertake a contextual analysis in terms of intercultural communication, as it will examine the ways in which Alternative Newspaper attempts to become a means of communication between different cultures. Keywords: Intercultural Communication, Newspaper, Alternative Newspape

DERIVATIVE AND STYLISTIC FEATURES OF VERBS OF WORDS OF PERSIAN ORIGIN IN THE BOSNIAN LANGUAGE

    No full text
The Bosnian language contains a number of words of Persian origin, mainly received through Turkish as the relay language during the Ottoman rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, these words are mainly part of the passive lexis of modern Bosnian, mainly caused by the disappearance of notions and phenomena they denote, but also caused by their replacement with other forms. However, quite a number of these lexemes appear in conversational Bosnian, where they are used for the purpose of greater expressive force. The most frequent of them are nouns, followed by adjectives and verbs – parts of speech that carry the largest amount of information. This paper will focus on verbs derived from words of Persian origin, usually nouns. This is no surprise in light of the fact that in terms of loanwords, nouns are always the most numerous. This can be explained by the function of nouns, to name phenomena and objects, both the ones that do not have adequate local equivalents, and the ones that do have local equivalents, but those equivalents are for some reason less prestigious and tend to be replaced with a borrowed noun. Since Persian loanwords are no longer entering our language, under the influence of different factors, the corpus of this research comprises dictionaries of modern Bosnian language. Namely, we thought that such lexicographical sources present a reliable source for a derivation and style-based analysis of verbs in Bosnian. However, in light of the fact that the root of such verbs is of Persian origin, in order to determine their origin and semantics, we consulted dictionaries of the Persian language. Still they were used as an auxiliary tool in this derivation and stylefocused analysis of verbs in the lexical stock of the Bosnian language

SOCIAL ETIQUETTE ACROSS CULTURES: TEACHING ENGLISH FOR BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS AND RAPPOR

    No full text
To live a happy, fulfilling and purposeful life is something both teachers and students wish for. As relationships seem to be a factor which is most likely to make one’s personal life and career happy, successful and fulfilled, it is essential to re-examine language teaching in this respect. Therefore, this paper aims at reflecting on the extent to which teachers may equip students with language and skills and thus allow for developing successful relationships and rapport. The focus of the paper is to understand, analyse and describe why at least some of the great amount of universal as well as culture-specific etiquette rules should be explored in English language teaching and how teachers can do that. This paper, therefore, investigates which topics can be used to allow for fruitful interactions between teachers of languages and their students in this area. To ensure that suggested topics and activities are applicable in a diverse educational context, the activities are described in a rather general way. The primary objective is to inspire foreign language teachers to create authentic and meaningful classroom interaction on the base of digging into social etiquette with regard to the cross-cultural aspect. As a result, learners’ knowledge and skills will be enhanced in terms of building relationships and rapport in a foreign language. What is more, they will be able to interact in social situations with grace. To sum up, this paper looks into preparing often linguistically homogenous classrooms for a culturally diverse world in an effective way and a manner enjoyable for all parties involved
