USLOVNI OTPUST U PRAVU REPUBLIKE SRBIJE I EVROPSKI STANDARDI

Effects of the Demographic Changes on Private Consumption: An Almost Ideal Demand System Analysis for Austria
Abstract: The following paper analyzes potential effects of the demographic changes on private consumption. An extended Almost Ideal Demand System is used to simulate changes in the consumption of goods and services due to the ageing of the population in Austria – on national as well as regional level. Therefore, age-specific income elasticity and price elasticity are estimated. The estimated model is used to simulate the consumption structure in 2030 for four scenarios: Firstly, only the ageing process of the population is considered. Secondly, the ageing as well as changes in household structure are taken into account. Scenario three and four furthermore consider potential changes in income distribution due to the ageing as well as price changes and its effects on the consumption structure of the ageing society. The results reveal direct positive effects of the ageing of the population on the consumption shares of food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water and fuel, health, as well as miscellaneous goods and services, while the consumption category transport looses the highest proportion in total consumption. But it can also be seen that these results do not hold anymore as soon as potential changes in income distribution – as indirect effect of the ageing – are considered
Designing a Translation and Interpretation Diploma Course
The objective of this paper is to share the experiences regarding the design and implementation of a Translation and Interpretation Diploma Course (TIDC) in a public university located in central Mexico. The main point of designing and implementing the diploma course was to produce a new generation of translators and interpreters, since a number of BA in ELT graduates from local universities,as well as many other translators from the region, wish to grow professionally in both translation and interpretation areas. Moreover, the implementation of this diploma course was necessarybecause no institutions in this region offer a course of this kind. The TIDCwas designed taking into account the demand for professional translators and interpreters derived from the industrial and commercial growth in the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico.
The curriculum for the TIDCconsists of 14 modulescentered on thetheoretical aspects of translation and thetranslation practice of financial, scientific, technical and legal texts. Spanish writing, terminology, and CAT tools training are also part of the curriculum. The students are also introduced to Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpretation using theappropriate interpretation equipment.Allacademic staffinvited to collaborate in this program hold an MA in Translation and Interpretation. They are also certified translators and currently teach translation and interpretation in various universities. Most of them belong to translators and interpreters associations.

The Role of Cognitive Mechanisms and Semantic Motivation in Business English Idioms Acquisition: An experimental study
This paper aims to explore the possible application of cognitive semantics in the process of teaching and learningBusiness English idioms. The theoretical assumptions of this study are based on the cognitivist view that idioms are, to a certain extent, semantically motivated by cognitive mechanisms, with the conceptual metaphor being the most dominant one. This study is an attempt to test the hypothesis that metaphoric conceptualisation can contribute to a more successful acquisition of idioms, especially in comparison to pure memorisation of the same linguistic expressions. This small-scale experiment was carried out with 20 Business and Economics students divided into the experimental group and the control group. The students in the experimental group were introduced to the semantic motivation of idiom meaning, whereas the control-group students were taught the same idioms in the traditional way. After being presented with the carefully selected idioms in two different ways, the students in both groups were required to do four different types of exercises with a view to testing the semantic motivation hypothesis. As a result, the research findings and the results obtained in this experimental study suggest that the awareness of cognitive mechanism and semantic motivation behind the meaning of idioms can significantly assist students in the process of a somewhat systematic and consistent acquisition of Business English idioms.

Using Film Subtitles in FLT in Croatia
It is a general belief that students need to receive substantial input of authentic materials in FLT. The combination of verbal information with full visual experiences, such as films, has been found most appealing. Not only a large amount of natural language, but also a rich variety of cultural forms and expressions are mediated by this kind of “comprehensible input” (Krashen 1985). Various studies have demonstrated the ways in which intralingual subtitled audio-visual material can improve the effectiveness of general foreign language comprehension (Caimi 2002, Vanderplank 1988) and how it can be a useful tool in foreign language teaching and foreign language acquisition (Neuman & Koskinen 1992).
Most foreign television and cinema programs distributed in Croatia have always been accompanied by interlingual subtitles; therefore the viewers are accustomed to them. Consequently, such a habit can be efficiently exploited in foreign language learning among Croatian students who will certainly more easily develop strategies to derive benefits from subtitled films.
The main aim of this study was to examine whether and to what extent film subtitles (captions) increase learners’ ability to process languages. Our hypothesis was that subtitles facilitate general comprehension of a film, provided that the linguistic difficulty of the authentic film material has been carefully selected in order to match the students’ overall competency in L2. Our research was conducted among students of B1/B2 level of English L2. Students were divided into two groups: one group watched a sequence of a feature film without subtitles, while the other was shown the same material with subtitles. Both groups were given a specially designed test to assess their general comprehension of the viewed material. The findings revealed that the group of students viewing the subtitled film showed better results than the other group.

Types of synonymic groups in Russian
This research has two main purposes:
1) to distinguish structural types of synonymic groups;
2) to verify the headwords of synonymic groups as a linguistic or psycholinguistic concept.
Typically, a headword has: 1) common semantic elements, 2) the highest frequency, and 3) no stylistic and emotional connotations.
The main source of data is the results of two experiments and data from the Russian National Corpus. The subjects' task was to choose the main words of the submitted groups. We used 32 synonymic groups, taken from the Russian synonymic dictionaries: the first experiment contained 12 synonymic groups and the second had 20 synonymic groups. Forty-five subjects participated in the first experiment, 67 in the second experiment.
We distinguished two types of synonymic groups with different structures. The first type (centric synonymic groups) consists of synonymic groups, the headword of which can be uniquely identified by experimental and corpus data. In such cases, the subjects unanimously determined the headword, and the headword is the most frequent word of the synonymic group. There are eight (67%) such groups in the first experiment and 14 such groups (70%) in the second experiment.
The second type (non-centric synonymic groups) includes synonymic groups, in which the subjects were not able to choose the main word of the synonymic groups. There are four (33%) such groups in the first experiment and six such groups (30%) in the second experiment.
It is impossible to distinguish the headword in non-centric synonymic groups. Such synonymic groups are integrated by a semantic gestalt based on a nonverbal semantic code. Formal and component analysis of non-central synonymic groups is not effective.

Soap Opera Effect on Product Preferences in Terms of Country Image: A Case of Turkish TV Serials in Albanian Market
Abstract: TV serials can be leveraged as an effective mass communication means that is capable of sneaking into people’s lives, and altering their perceptions, habits and preferences. Today globalization has come to facilitate the way in which consumers are exposed to a myriad of foreign products, and country of origin and image emerge as major hints in assessing these products. Foreign TV programs that become popular in a country are known to contribute to the country of origin image of products involved. This study aims to study the way TV viewers in Albania, where Turkish soap operas are popular, perceive products of Turkish origin and whether Turkish TV programs have any effect on the purchasing decisions of Albanians. To this end, the data set of the study was compiled through one-to-one interviews with 413 participants in three Albanian cities (Tirana, Durrës and Kukës). Quantitative data were analyzed using factor analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) methods while qualitative data were obtained using the in-depth interviews with the people from the field who hold opinions about the matter at hand. The study produced positive findings that imply that TV serials influence product preferences of consumers
No, osim toga on ima i širu ulogu a to je očuvanje stabilnosti financijskog sektora putem realizacije načela odgovornog zaduživanja i prevencije prezaduženosti.Zadatak ovog rada jeste kritički razmotriti odredbe Zakona o zaštiti korisnika financijskih usluga kojima se regulira obaveza informiranja, te slijedom toga ukazati na prednosti i nedostatke novih rješenja imajući u vidu problem financijske pismenosti s kojim se suočava veliki broj korisnika.

Information Systems at the Airport
Air traffic is a dynamic activity which trends partly depend on the general economy of the society. A phenomenon that is being
researched as part of master’s thesis are information systems. The research problem (which is always wider than the object of
research) are information systems in business in general, while the subject of research are information systems at airports in
Sarajevo and Mostar.
The established subject of research involves the processing of information systems, with a particular aspect of information
systems at the airport. The research results will show the development of information systems at the airport in Sarajevo and
Mostar. The research results will also show how the information systems at the airport in Sarajevo and Mostar are aligned with
modern technology development.
