Use of the A&HCI to evaluate research in minority language literatures : the case of Catalan and Danish literature
No full textPurpose. The tools for measuring the research impact are of little use in disciplines such as history and literature, which have a strong cultural, linguistic and regional component and often use channels of academic communication in languages other than English. The aim of this article is to provide a methodological contribution to the use of WoS data bases showing that it is nevertheless possible to obtain quantitative information on these disciplines through the A&HCI if a suitable strategy is used. We also wish to stress the need to improve the coverage of citation databases in humanities and the information retrieval tools that they include. The cases of Catalan and Danish literature are used as examples. -- Methodology. To carry out this research we have created a protocol that could be employed as a general way for the study of any other literature from citations databases. This method consists of complementing the search for subject categories of Catalan and Danish literature as topics in the A&HCI with a list of outstanding authors in each of the two languages. -- Findings. We identify international trends in Catalan and Danish literature research. We also determine the international visibility of the studies in comparison with those of other literatures. Research into literature in Catalan and Danish literature does not seem to be gaining ground internationally. The results are in agreement with those of previous studies, which proves the efficacy of the proposed method
La realització dels casos d'ús basats en tesaurus amb el paquet PoolParty
No full textEls tesaurus han estat una eina important de recuperació de la informació durant dècades, i encara ho són. Tenen el potencial de millorar considerablement la gestió de la informació d'organitzacions grans, però encara estan infrautilitzats respecte dels sistemes de gestió de continguts, els motors de cerca o els sistemes d'etiquetatge. En aquest article volem descriure aquests casos d'ús per a tesaurus, de quina manera s'han d'estructurar els tesaurus per ajustar-se als diferents casos d'ús i com les tecnologies web semàntiques del sistema de gestió de tesaurus PoolParty poden ajudar a realitzar-los.

Despite these limitations, in this article we perform a comparative analysis by subject of dissertations written within the field of communication in the leading departments in this field in Andalusia: the Universities of Seville and Malaga. No full textAmb esperit de crítica constructiva i fruit de dues experiències en el muntatge de noves biblioteques, es descriuen situacions, activitats i aspectes vinculats a l'arquitectura de les biblioteques públiques en el procés d'instal·lació. S'esmenten quins són els agents implicats en el muntatge d'una biblioteca nova, quines són les funcions i quines son les formes de comunicació entre si. Es fa menció especial al paper que desenvolupa la direcció de la biblioteca com agent implicat, quins són els seus àmbits d'actuació i quin nivell de participació li correspon. El treball no finalitza quan s'inaugura la biblioteca. Coneixerem les activitats posteriors que cal realitzar. | Con espíritu de crítica constructiva y fruto de dos experiencias en el montaje de nuevas bibliotecas, se describen
situaciones, actividades y aspectos vinculados a la arquitectura de las bibliotecas públicas en proceso de instalación.
Se mencionan cuáles son los agentes implicados en el montaje de una biblioteca nueva, cuáles son las funciones y
responsabilidades de cada uno de ellos y cuáles son las formas de comunicación entre sí.
Se hace mención especial al papel que desarrolla la dirección de la biblioteca como agente implicado, cuáles son sus
ámbitos de actuación y qué nivel de participación le corresponde.

attempts to describe situations, activities and events associated with the architectural features of public libraries
currently in the development and installation stages.
There is a description of the agents involved in structuring the new library, their duties and responsibilities, and the
types of communication among them.
Special mention is made of the library administration as an involved agent, its scope of action and the level of parti

No full textInvestigación de los rasgos denotativos y connotativos de las fotografías sobre la huelga general de 29 de septiembre de 2010 en los diarios La Vanguardia, El País, El Mundo, Abc y La Razón. Se utiliza una ficha de análisis de diseño original para registrar las variables más significativas. Se constata un amplio y variado grado de cobertura del conflicto y una elevada visibilidad de las fotos. La huelga no aparece como un hecho masivo, hay un alto componente de tensión y los gestos de los personajes no responden completamente al estereotipo tópico. Las principales diferencias entre los diarios se centran en el número de fotos publicadas, la omisión de escenas y tipos de personajes y la gestualidad que muestran los protagonistas. | Research work of the denotative and connotative features of the photographs about the general
