An den Standorten DLR Rheinpfalz, Campus Klein-Altendorf, ÖON, Jork und KOB, Bavendorf wurde über die dreijährige Projektzeit Freilandversuche mit verschiedener Fragestellung (Nutzung und Förderung funktioneller Biodiversität, Sortenwahl, Überprüfung von verschiedenen Schnittvarianten im Vergleich zum Praxisschnitt, Überprüfung von Schaderregern und Schädlingsaufkommen durch unterschiedlich hohe Stickstoffdüngegaben, Applikationsversuche zur Ermittlung der Verträglichkeit verschiedenen Birnensorten mit NeemAzal® -T/S und Schwefelpräparaten, Applikationsversuche zur Kupferminimierungsstrategie, Testung natürlicher Phytohormone zur Erhöhung der Fruchtansatz bzw. nach einem Frostereignis, Regulierungsstrategie Rote Austernschildlaus (Epidiaspis leperii) zur Förderung der ökologischen Birnenproduktion in Deutschland durchgeführt
