PROCESSING TERMINOLOGY FOR TERMINOGRAPHY OUTPUTS
The paper will present the terminology work and terminography's concepts and principles for creating terminological glossaries datasets or termbases used as parts of more complex terminological databases. It will introduce the structure of a terminographic record, point out preferences in creating the structure of multilingual documents, and briefly introduce frequently used online terminographic platforms. Also, it will be demonstrated what tools and corpora can be applied to terminology processing. Furthermore, the paper intends to reflect on setting up terminological glossaries and what elementary mistakes should be avoided when preparing them

STIFFNESS OF SOLID WOOD BEAMS UNDER DIRECT AND OBLIQUE BENDING CONDITIONS
The article is devoted to studying the features of the work of solid pine wood beams under direct and oblique bending. The study of oblique bending is represented by different angles of inclination. The destructive load of the beams under such conditions and the deformation parameters of bending elements were determined. Experimental results were compared with theoretical ones obtained as a result of calculations in the "LIRA" software complex. Study and analysis of calculations for different types of stiffnesses (with orthotropy, without orthotropy, and with the complete wood deformation diagram) using the software package was carried out. The optimal type of stiffnesses used in the "LIRA" software complex was determined based on the graphs for beam deformation. The results of experimental and theoretical studies can be used to design roof structure elements
STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF BASIC PROCESS PARAMETERS ON THE ROUGHNESS OF SURFACES DURING MILLING OF SCOTS PINE WOOD
Experimental results in the processing of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). are presented in the paper. They were conducted under the manufacturing conditions. Three machines are used – two jointers with different knife spindle designs and with flat knives and replaceable rigid alloy plates – a helical cutter head, as well as a planer with flat knives. The measured parameter is Rz, and an electronic profilometer was used to measure its reading. The studies were conducted using the method of planned two-factor regression analysis. The selected factors are fundamental to the milling process – feed speed vf and radial depth of cut ae. Their levels of variation are determined on the basis of preliminary experiments, as well as the practical possibility of their realization. The results obtained with all three machines do not exceed 45 μm, and the ones for the planer make the strongest impression
THE USE OF CONTROLLING IN WOODWORKING AND FURNITURE FAMILY BUSINESSES: EVIDENCE FROM SLOVAKIA
The aim of the paper is to assess the use of controlling in family businesses within the woodworking and furniture industry in Slovakia compared to non-family businesses and to identify the underlying reasons for its implementation or lack thereof. The questionnaire-based survey was evaluated using relevant statistical methods. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that most of the woodworking and furniture enterprises belong to family businesses, and they tend to use controlling to a lesser extent compared to non-family businesses. The results indicated a positive correlation between the size of the enterprise and the implementation of controlling. Additionally, a distinctive specific of the surveyed businesses which may hinder the application of controlling is considered the concordance of ownership and management roles. The study identified the state of the use of controlling in the surveyed businesses and sheds light on the factors influencing their decisions
ENHANCING THE QUALITY OF PALM VENEER WITH OIL PALM BARK EXTRACT-RESORCINOL-FORMALDEHYDE RESIN IMPREGNATION
The oil palm plantations in Indonesia have prompted the need for technology to utilize non-productive oil palm trees (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). This study was aimed to collect information on the quality of oil palm trunk veneer modified using SRF impregnation from oil palm bark extract. The impregnant was synthesized by copolymerizing resorcinol (R) and formaldehyde (F) on palm bark extract (S). Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (Py-GCMS), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) were used to characterize the oil palm resorcinol formaldehyde (SRF) resin. The SRF-impregnant material was used to improve the oil palm veneer's density, thickness, swelling, stiffness, and strength. The results of the DSC analysis showed that the SRF resin was thermoset. The SRF-impregnated palm veneer could increase the veneer density by 20%, lower thickness swelling below 25%, and increase the modulus of rupture (MOR) by over 10% and modulus of elasticity (MOE) by 50%
LINGUISTIC INTERFERENCE BETWEEN ENGLISH AS L2 AND FRENCH AS L3 ON THE BASIS OF LEXICAL FALSE COGNATES (FALSE FRIENDS)
Linguistic influence of one language on the other is the subject of research of many linguists as well as methodologists of foreign language teaching. This linguistic issue is known as the crosslinguistic transfer. The impact of the first foreign language (L2) on the second foreign language (L3) acquisition plays an important role and can have a positive as well as negative effect. Crosslinguistic transfer can have a considerable impact on all linguistic levels. Structural identity between the first foreign language (L2) and new or the second foreign language (L3) is indicated as a positive crosslinguistic transfer. Meanwhile, the structural difference between two languages and its impact on the second language acquisition is known as a negative transfer or negative interference. The role of a teacher of foreign languages is to minimize elements of negative linguistic interference by means of comparative linguistic methods and comparison of individual language systems for better understanding of possible similarities and/or differences between them. The paper deals with negative linguistic interference on the lexical level namely on the basis of false cognates (false friends) and their impact on the French as the second foreign language (L3) acquisition based on the previous knowledge of English as the first foreign language (L1)
AUTOMATION OF TEMPLATE CORRECTION ALGORITHM FOR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF PSEUDO-3D ENGRAVED IMAGES
The method of correcting templates of pseudo-3D images engraved on wood and wooden materials is proposed. The key elements of the method comprise initial engraving of the test model with an optic density gradient, measurement followed by further analysis of the engraving optical density, finding the threshold values of the workpiece material tone, and correction of the image output values. The algorithm is composed, and the variant for automating the template design is proposed. A more complete reproduction of light-and-dark gradations of the image engraved is achieved in the material, and the template design is accelerated and simplified. The experiments confirming the efficiency of the proposed approach were carried out
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE QUALITY PROPERTIES OF OIL-BASED AND ALKYD COATING MATERIALS FOR WOOD
A comparative analysis of the quality properties of coating materials based on linseed oil and alkyd film formers is provided in the paper. The advantages and disadvantages of linseed oil-based and alkyd-based coating materials are explored. Protective materials such as alkyd coating material for wood and drying linseed oil were applied on the compared pine-wood samples. The authors determined the drying time of linseed oil and alkyd coating materials on pine wood, the thickness of the dry film, heat resistance, lightfastness, as well as water resistance of protective and decorative coatings. Linseed oil-based coating materials form thin-layer coatings on the surface of wood, unlike coatings based on alkyd materials. Alkyd coating materials transitioned into a solid state faster than the linseed oil-based ones. Coatings based on linseed oil have a higher moisture resistance. Higher indicators of heat resistance were observed in coatings based on linseed oil materials
KERATIN AS A FORMALDEHYDE SCAVENGER FOR ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WOOD-BASED PANELS
The use of polycondensation urea-formaldehyde (UF) resins in the woodworking and furniture industries is widespread due to their relatively low price, high reactivity, availability of raw materials, and ease of use. After curing, they provide a transparent, brittle joint, but their main disadvantage is the continuous emission of formaldehyde. The naturally occurring biopolymer keratin and the amino acid cysteine prepared from sheep wool were chosen and tested as possible agents for UF adhesives, allowing the reduction of formaldehyde emissions from wood-based panels. Emissions of formaldehyde were determined in accordance with EN ISO 12460-4. The gluing quality was tested according to standard EN 314-1, and the tested plywood met the requirements of standard EN 314-2. The most significant decrease in formaldehyde emission by up to 44.0% was achieved by applying 1% MOD-I (pre-condensate of glutaraldehyde and urea + cysteine) to the reference UF adhesive. Therefore, samples prepared for this study have great potential for application as environmentally friendly formaldehyde scavengers
