The noble townsman of the city Trnava Martin Branislav Tamaškovič (1803-1872) actively participated in the activities related to the Enlightenment movement, politics, creation of unions, culture and literature during the most crucial times of the Slovak National Revival Movement. Through his activities he initiated and led activities that had a positive impact on the whole society: he supported the idea of national identity, education of the locals, fought against alcoholism, pointed out the negative effects of smoking, tried to remove poverty, pointed out the importance of hygiene, and also he presented his views on animal abuse. The last area was considered relatively new in the context of the Enlightenment movement and Tamaškovič became its local pioneer. As a member of the Viennese Union Against Animal Abuse, he published a short poem Reč proti trýznení zwírat in 1857. This study analyses the poem from the „nobel“ and „man as a hunter“ point of view while it also provides the scholar with the evidence showing Tamaškovič’s efforts to popularize this issue among society. The image of the devil has changed over the centuries, almost every era has created its own image of Hellraiser. Łęczycki Boruta is one of two historical Polish devils. The image was taken from folk tales, which gained popularity during the Romantic period, thanks to Kazimierz Wójcicki’s collection of klechdas. Romantic artists created the figure of the kontusz devil. This article deals with the image of the Leczyca devil in the work Dole i niedole Diabła Boruta by Włodzimierz Piotrowski. The author used various historical creation motifs of the devil character. In the individual stories, Boruta appears as a folkloric mud devil, a medieval guardian devil, a Renaissance crotchety devil, and a Romantic contortionist devil. The image of the devil has changed over the centuries, almost every era has created its own image of Hellraiser. The literariness of The Examiner:“Man of Gold” – a portrait of John Churchill,1st Duke Of Marlborough

The main objective of the article is to analyse the rhetorical techniques that were used to generate anti-Marlborough Tory propaganda in the early eighteenth century. The source material for the analysis comprises two issues of The Examiner published at the end of February 1712. This “right-wing” organ, revived in December 1711, became something of a razor-sharp tool for anti-Whig propaganda. With the call for an end to the costly war of Spanish Succession, The Examiner targeted criticism towards those who supported a continuation of the conflict. One politician seeking both on the battlefield as well as through the courts a prolongation of the war was John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. As such he became the subject of a broad wave of criticism expressed in various Tory-writings. The portrait of the Duke, created through a variety of literary tools, demonstrates the wide range of literary elements used in non-fiction writings, proving at the same time the links between fiction and non-fiction which eventually led to the emergence of a new genre, that of the novel.  The main objective of the article is to analyse the rhetorical techniques that were used to generate anti-Marlborough Tory propaganda in the early eighteenth century. The article focusses on three distinct yet interrelated images: the „National Leader” (Glukhovsky\u27s synonym for the president of Russia), Russians and public officials collectively constituting the contemporary Russian society. Dmitry Glukhovsky creates the president’s figure through propaganda portraits, highlighting their cultural and religious symbolism in an almost poetic manner. In Glukhovsky’s short fiction the people of Russia are presented in an opposition to the overdecorated image of the president. They are depicted as fearful and humble, afraid to „crawl out of a crack in the kitchen floor”. The third kind of characters – the public officials – are depicted as senseless and heartless individuals mindlessly following orders to satisfy their own ambitions and financial needs. Meanwhile, the backdrop for these characters is a dying homeland. The article focusses on three distinct yet interrelated images: the „National Leader” (Glukhovsky\u27s synonym for the president of Russia), Russians and public officials collectively constituting the contemporary Russian society. Comparative Analisis of Digital Filters for Proper Positioning of User Mobile Device Using BLE Transmitters and Multilateration Technique

Nowadays, traveling without systems supporting navigation and guidance to the destination is hard for us to imagine. The outdoor positioning techniques used in these solutions have been mastered mainly by global positioning systems. However, assisting the navigation of users inside large public buildings still needs to be improved. It matters even more for persons with special needs, such as visually impaired, seniors, or people in wheelchairs. Determining the correct position of the user inside the complex space of a multi-floor building is a big challenge for such persons. Several methods can help in this matter. For example, technologies such as RFID, WIFI networks, image recognition, or lidar are used. However, the best solution to this problem is using infrastructures of low energy transmitters (BLE), called beacons. Then, construct an appropriate map to determine the user’s position to help guide the user to a destination. Nevertheless, to designate such a position, we need to know each transmitter’s signal strength and coordinates. Because of the physical properties of radio waves, the data collected from such transmitters are often inaccurate. This paper compares two methods, the Kalman filter and particle filter, to improve the quality of signal strength data received from BLE transmitters. As a result, the recommendation of the Kalman filter as the best method to improve the quality of these data and use it in the developed applications supporting indoor navigation in large buildings is provided

This study examines an inscribed brick from the reign of the Middle Elamite King Untaš-Napiriša (ca. 1275-1240 BCE). The brick, unearthed in Choγā Zanbil not long ago, is currently under the ownership of a privately held collection in Shiraz. Its current location allowed us to thoroughly examine and decipher the text inscribed on it. By conducting a basic analysis and comparing it with other similar bricks, it becomes evident that this brick is identical to the one documented in MDP 41 as “12 (Pl. V, 2)”.This study examines an inscribed brick from the reign of the Middle Elamite King Untaš-Napiriša (ca. 1275-1240 BCE).
