From Jan Amos Comenius to the present day. A holistic vision of human development in the analysis of selected pedagogical concepts
Podkreślają one potrzebę całościowego rozwoju człowieka, integrację wiedzy z różnych dziedzin, zrozumienie powiązań i zależności oraz aktywną rolę ucznia w odkrywaniu świata. W świetle współczesnych wyzwań edukacyjnych, społecznych, cyfrowych takie podejście staje się szczególnie ważne. Budując lepszą przyszłość, edukacja holistyczna wspiera nie tylko pełniejsze rozumienie złożonej rzeczywistości, lecz również budowanie postaw odpowiedzialności i szacunku Analiza wskazuje, że wielostronne ujęcie edukacji pozostaje niezmiennie aktualne i istotne by sprostać zmieniającym się wyzwaniom obecnego i przyszłego świata. The article presents an analysis of selected concepts of a holistic approach to education and human development over the years. Starting with Jan Amos Comenius, through Maria Montessori\u27s concept of cosmic education and Wincenty Okoń’s theory of multilateral educa-tion, to contemporary methods such as problem-based learning (PBL). The pedagogical concepts discussed reveal a consistent view of the education process, regardless of time. They emphasise the need for holistic human development, the integration of knowledge from various fields, an understanding of connections and dependencies, and the active role of the student in discovering the world. In light of contemporary educational, social and digital challenges, such an approach is becoming particularly important. Holistic education not only supports a fuller understanding of complex reality, but also fosters attitudes of responsibility and respect, building a better future. The analysis indicates that a multifaceted approach to education remains relevant and essential in order to meet the changing challenges of the future world
Selected contexts of childhood subjectivity in the pedagogy of John Amos Comenius
Jan Amos Comenius’s pedagogy is known worldwide for its radical transformation of the approach to the student as a subject and its educational system, based on respecting developmental and social needs. An analysis of his works and pedagogical concepts leads to the conclusion that he developed the idea of adapting schools to students\u27 needs, not the other way around. Comenius opposed the medieval model of school as an authori-tarian institution of indoctrination, proposing a democratic model of education based on subjectivity, respect for identity, and liberation from the senselessness and thoughtlessness of pervasive coercion
Customer perceptions towards innovation products in the sphere of privacy versus security debate (the case of transmission x-ray body scanners in the UK)
This article attempts to establish potential applications for widening the use of transmissionx-ray full body scanners in the United Kingdom (UK) as the product of innovation. It is the first researchproject of its kind and findings will be able to assist government agencies in enhancing currentsecurity systems within the transport and prison sectors of the UK. In addition, product manufacturerswill be able to adjust their marketing and product development strategies. The main findings of thisstudy demonstrated that introducing the product within the UK air transport and prison sectors couldenhance individual privacy. The product would also be able to combat the issue of contraband traffickingwithin the air transport and prison sectors of the UK to enhance security. It was, however, highlightedthat the product would not significantly improve staff and inmate safety within the prison sector. The issue of data security was also discussed and frequent travelers did not view the data producedby the product as being damaging to individual privacy, whilst a prison security manager viewed datasecurity as one of the most significant issues associated with widening the use of the equipment. Theresults also demonstrated that transmission x-ray full body scanners are not suitable to be used withinthe UK rail network as the equipment would cause major inconveniences for train passengers. Thenext section of this article will focus on discussing introduction of the innovation product in the sphereof the debate of privacy vs. security
Rethinking the Model of Translation of the Literary Text as Creative Interpretation and Examining the Translation of the Literary Title as a Problem of “Hidden Meanings”
This paper argues against the inclusion of the translation of works of literature in the commonly theorized model of semantic transferal from the source text to the target text and for the role of the title in the complex structure of the literary work of art. Works of literature – including their titles – are by their nature polysemic. One of the terminological deficiencies of English literary scholarship is the lack of a term for the “hidden meanings” of a literary text. Unfortunately, the use of the word “sense” by Frank Kermode has not become accepted, nor has the key role of the title and also the ending of a work been sufficiently recognized in English literary scholarship. The function of the title in creating “hidden meanings” resists generalization, yet the issue of translating the title has not received deserved attention, although it is central to the work of analysis of the text that the translator must undertake

Representation of male emotionality in Vanda Rozenbergová’s novels Common Night Peace and Man out of Pit, Children of Love
This paper examines the representation of the male protagonists‘ emotionality in Vanda ozenbergová´s novels Common Night Peace (2020) and Man in Depression, Children in Love (2017). The conceptual framework of the paper rests on the literary character analysis based on the exploration of the mimetic and thematic dimensions of the literary character. The analysis concentrates on delineating various forms of escapism as they emerge within the mimetic dimension of character construction. In parallel, it examines the interrelation between narrative space, personal thematics, and masculine emotionality within the thematic dimension of character analysis. Emotionality, implicitly rendered and directed inward, constitutes a central element of these novels; it not only shapes the characterization of male protagonists but also imbues the narrative space with additional layers of meaning. This paper examines the representation of the male protagonists‘ emotionality in Vanda ozenbergová´s novels Common Night Peace (2020) and Man in Depression, Children in Love (2017). The Image of the Scholar in Walentyn Tarnawskyj’s Dissertation in the Context of Masculinity Discourse
The article examines the protagonist of Walentyn Tarnawskyj’s long short story, The Dissertation, within the context of masculinity discourse in Ukrainian literature. The author maintains that the position of scholars in the Soviet Union depended on the field and background; therefore, the dominant models of Soviet masculinity fit them selectively. The literary representation of scholars in Ukrainian literature of the Soviet period was rare and reflected the dominant Soviet ideology. The late 1980s in Walentyn Tarnawskyj’s writing present a new type of scholar-character and literary expression. In the context of masculinity discourse, Tarnawskyj’s protagonist appears as a person of convoluted identity torn between his life priorities regarding academic and social status and suppressed spiritual desires provoked by an ideal woman. The author concludes by stating that Tarnawskyj’s Dissertation while breaking the socialist realist Soviet canon, may well be regarded within the tradition of Ukrainian “Chimeric” prose as well as within European classics. The article examines the protagonist of Walentyn Tarnawskyj’s long short story, The Dissertation, within the context of masculinity discourse in Ukrainian literature.
