Sports profile of the linguistic image of Spain in the pre-pandemic „Gazeta Wyborcza”
No full textCelem artykułu była próba przedstawienia profilu sportowego Hiszpanii na podstawie publikacji w „Gazecie Wyborczej” w okresie przedpandemicznym 2019–2020. Przy pomocy metody profilowania Bartmińskiego wyznaczono najpopularniejsze cechy przypisywane badanemu państwu w tekstach sportowych wybranego medium. Wyjaśniono również znaczenie poszczególnych określeń oraz zwrócono uwagę na sposób ich wprowadzania.The aim of this article was to attempt to present a sports profile of Spain on the basis of publications included in “Gazeta Wyborcza” in the pre-pandemic period 2019-2020. Using Bartminski\u27s profiling method, the most popular characteristics attributed to the studied country in the sports texts of the selected medium were determined. The meaning of particular terms was also explained and attention was paid to the way they were introduced
DETERMINANTS OF SHAPING THE STRUCTURE OF A PUBLIC ORGANIZATION ON THE CASE OF THE PODLASKIE VOIVODESHIP OFFICE
No full textThe research presented in the article concerns the determinants of organizational structures in public organisation, particularly the influence of managerial attachment to existing, stable structures, using the example of the Podlaskie Voivodeship Office. For this purpose, an analysis of legal and organizational determinants was carried out, along with empiricalresearch in the form of a survey conducted among a selected group of middle-level managers (head of departments) of the office. The conducted research illustrates the strength and specificity of the office staff\u27s attachment to stable, and often simply inherited, organizational structures. A two-dimensional character of the determinants shaping the organizational structure can also be observed, consisting of the interplay between external influences (specific legislation) and internal factors, with particular emphasis on organizational culture. The described structure proves to be very stable and therefore inflexible, with a deeply rooted sense of its own organic nature, where the effectiveness of a manager depends on an excellent understanding of the organization (internal recruitment) and where high levels of conformity and adaptation to the team of peoplethey work with are expected from employees.Przedstawione w artykule badania dotyczą uwarunkowań kształtowania struktur w organizacji publicznej, a w szczególności wpływu przywiązania kadry kierowniczej do zastanych, stabilnych struktur – na przykładzie Podlaskiego Urzędu Wojewódzkiego. W tym celu przeanalizowano uwarunkowania prawno-ustrojowe oraz badania empiryczne w formie ankiety badawczej, skierowanej do wybranej grupy menedżerów średniego szczebla – kierowników oddziałów urzędu. Przeprowadzone badania ukazują siłę i specyfikę przywiązania kadry urzędu do stabilnych, a często zastanych struktur organizacyjnych. Można też dostrzec dwuwymiarowy charakter uwarunkowań kształtowania się struktury organizacyjnej, polegający na przenikaniu się wpływów czynników zewnętrznych (specyficzne ustawodawstwo) oraz czynników wewnętrznych, związanych z kulturą organizacji. Opisana struktura okazuje się bardzo stabilna, a więc i mało elastyczna, z głęboko zakorzenionym poczuciem własnej organiczności, gdzie warunkiem skuteczności kierownika jest doskonała znajomość organizacji, oraz gdzie oczekuje się od pracowników wysokiego poziomu konformizmu i dopasowania się do zespołu ludzi, z którymi ma pracować
Shared Grounds, Shifting Agreements: On the Liminal Structure of Deep Disagreements
No full textThis paper explores the nature of deep disagreements through a reinterpretation of Wittgenstein’s concept of form of life. Rather than adopting skeptical or relativist positions, it questions the assumption that disagreement marks a failure of rational communication. The central claim is that deep disagreements are liminal in structure: they unfold at the threshold between shared and divergent backgrounds of understanding, and must be approached as such. Drawing on Wittgenstein’s Philosophical Investigations and related remarks, the paper argues that disagreement and understanding are made possible by the same background conditions. The possibility of partial understanding depends not on reaching a final consensus, but on our ability to recognize and respond to unfamiliar ways of speaking and acting. This account shifts the focus from resolution to acknowledgment, and from epistemic closure to the ongoing conditions of mutual intelligibility

No full textIn contemporary intercultural literature in Germany not only the themes of novels and stories are changing, but also the aesthetics of this prose. The article aims to present a specific narrative about the feelings of the father, a former guest worker of Turkish origin, towards his surroundings. The sensitivity of this character plays a special role in this novel, which summarizes the story of a migrant family and contradicts stereotypical opinions about patriarchal orders in such families and Turkish men in Germany. However, the article analyzes not only characters’ emotions, but also the artistic form in which they are expressed. Together, they create a new post-migration perspective in the discussion about multicultural societies.In contemporary intercultural literature in Germany not only the themes of novels and stories are changing, but also the aesthetics of this prose. No full textHealth Literacy czyli świadomość zdrowotna jest nieodzowną kompetencją człowieka XXI wieku. Umożliwia zrozumienie sensu działań profilaktycznych, diagnostycznych i terapeutycznych, co przekłada się na większą kontrolę nad własnym zdrowiem. Dbałość o rozwój osobistej świadomości zdrowotnej to inwestycja w zdrowie, która przynosi korzyści zarównojednostce, jak i całemu społeczeństwu. Dlatego ważnym tematem jest badanie kompetencji zdrowotnych wśród studentów, którzy odpowiadają za swoje życie, ale również będą wpływać na życie innych. W artykule przyjęto za cel analizę badań ze światanad tematem Health Literacy wśród studentów. Z przeanalizowanych badań wynika, że istnieją silne dowody na związek między kompetencjami zdrowotnymi a takimi czynnikami jak wiek, semestr nauki, płeć, kierunek studiów, wykształcenie rodziców oraz status społeczno-ekonomiczny. Inne potencjalne determinanty mogą obejmować dostęp do informacji, doświadczenia związane ze zdrowiem, sytuację finansową, wsparcie społeczne. Ograniczona świadomość zdrowotna stanowi istotne wyzwanie dla polityki i edukacji zdrowotnej na całym świecie, choć w różnym stopniu w poszczególnych krajach. Z badań należy wyciągnąć wnioski, jakie grupy wymagają wsparcia systemowego podnoszącego kompetencje zdrowotne.
Health Literacy, or health awareness, is an essential competency for individuals in the 21st century. It enables the understanding of the purpose of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic actions, which translates into greater control over one\u27s health. Taking care of personal health awareness is an investment in health that benefits both individuals and society as a whole. Therefore, studying health literacy among students, who are responsible for their own lives and will also influencethe lives of others, is an important topic. The article aims to analyze global research on the topic of Health Literacy among students. The reviewed studies provide strong evidence of the relationship between health literacy and factors such as age, semester of study, gender, field of study, parental education, and socioeconomic status. Other potential determinants may include access to information, health-related experiences, financial situation, and social support. Limited health literacy poses a significant challenge to health policy and education worldwide, albeit to varying degrees in different countries. Research should draw conclusions about which groups require systemic support to enhance their health literacy

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja i omówienie zagrożeń wynikających z narastającej koncentracji własności na polskim rynku aptecznym oraz uzasadnienie potrzeby utrzymania i wzmocnienia regulacji służących ochronie jego struktury. W szczególności analizie poddano potencjalne skutki ponownego uchwalenia AdA 2.0. Zaprezentowano przegląd literatury i danych, analizę konsekwencji monopolizacji dla różnych grup interesariuszy (małych przedsiębiorstw, pacjentów oraz systemu ochrony zdrowia) oraz rekomendacje dotyczące kierunków działań legislacyjnych. Oligopolizacja i monopolizacja rynku aptecznego w Polsce nie jest jedynie kwestią gospodarczą – to problem o wielowymiarowych konsekwencjach społecznych, zdrowotnych i państwowych.Over the past 15 years, the Polish pharmacy market has undergone an intensive process of ownership transformation, resulting in a decline in the number of independent pharmacies in favor of chain entities. The aim of this article is to identify and discuss the risks arising from the growing ownership concentration in the Polish pharmacy market and to justify the need for maintaining and strengthening regulations that protect its structure. Particular attention is given to the potential effects of reintroducing AdA 2.0. The article presents a review of literature and data, an analysis of the consequences of monopolization for various stakeholder groups (small businesses, patients, and the healthcare system), as well as recommendations for future legislative directions. No full textArtykuł prezentuje przebieg i rezultaty projektu dydaktycznego zrealizowanego w semestrze zimowym 2023/2024 w Instytucie Historii Uniwersytetu w Siedlcach w ramach zajęć „Opracowanie materiałów archiwalnych”. Projekt polegał na zespołowej pracy studentów nad opracowaniem czterech zespołów akt podstawowych organizacji partyjnych Polskiej Zjednoczonej Partii Robotniczej, przechowywanych w Archiwum Państwowym w Siedlcach. Celem projektu było wdrożenie klasycznych i współczesnych metod opracowania akt, a zarazem kształtowanie zawodowej tożsamości przyszłych archiwistów w kontakcie ze źródłem archiwalnym o ładunku ideologicznym. Artykuł omawia zastosowane metody pracy, osiągnięte efekty uczenia się oraz znaczenie opracowanych materiałów jako narzędzia aktywizacji lokalnej pamięci historycznej. Do tekstu dołączono – w formie aneksu – przygotowane przez studentów inwentarze archiwalne zespołów uznanych za opracowane.The article presents the course and results of a didacticproject carried out during the winter semester of the 2023/2024 academic year at the Institute of History, University of Siedlce, as part of the course “Archival Material Processing.” The project involved team-based student work on the processing of four archival fonds of basic party organizations of the Polish United Workers’ Party (PZPR), preserved in the State Archive in Siedlce. The aim of the course was to implement both classical and contemporary methods of archival methodology, while simultaneously shaping the professional identity of future archivists through engagement with ideologically charged archival sources. The article discusses the archival methods applied, the learning outcomes achieved, and the significance of the processed materials as a tool for activating local historical memory. The article includes – in the annex –archival inventories of the fonds, prepared by students and recognized as fully processed
