DEVELOPING COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR 5-6-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER THROUGH PROJECT-BASED LEARNING: A CASE STUDY
Developing communication skills for children aged 5–6 with autism spectrum disorder plays a crucial role in enhancing their social interaction, increasing their ability to integrate, and fostering essential life skills. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in improving communication skills for children with ASD in an inclusive early education setting. The research adopts a single-group pretest-posttest experimental design and implements a 4-month project-based intervention with two children at a specialized education center. Data were collected using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing communication skills. After four months of experimentation, children’s overall communication scores increased from 1.46 to 2.64, indicating meaningful gains in verbal expression, comprehension, turn-taking, and attention regulation. The findings suggest that PBL is effective when sustained and personalized to children’s needs. The study concludes that PBL holds strong potential as a viable intervention model for children with ASD, especially when integrated into long-term, structured learning environments. DESIGNING EXERCISES ACCORDING TO THE AMERICAN COLLEGE TESTING (ACT) APPROACH TO ASSESS STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC THINKING COMPETENCE IN TEACHING THE TOPIC “ECOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT” IN BIOLOGY GRADE 12
In the context of the ongoing shift from content-based to competence-based education, the development of assessment tools that validly and reliably measure student competencies has become an essential priority. This study addresses this need by proposing and operationalizing a framework for assessing scientific thinking competence, drawing on the structure of the American College Testing (ACT) approach. The framework encompasses three core components: (1) Interpretation of Data (IOD); (2) Scientific Investigation (SIN); and (3) Evaluation of Models, Inferences, and Experimental Results (EMI). The study’s principal contribution lies in translating this conceptual structure into a systematic process for designing ACT-oriented assessment instruments that extend beyond factual recall to capture higher-order cognitive processes. Applying this process to the Grade 12 Biology topic “Ecology and Environment” resulted in the development of 22 item clusters, comprising 160 questions in four formats: choice, short answer, true/false, and drag-and-drop, illustrating a practical pathway for embedding competence-based assessment into science education to more effectively evaluate and promote advanced levels of student thinking.In the context of the ongoing shift from content-based to competence-based education, the development of assessment tools that validly and reliably measure student competencies has become an essential priority. DEVELOPING GRADE 6 STUDENTS’ COMPETENCE TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THROUGH STEM-BASED INSTRUCTION: A CASE STUDY ON THE TOPIC “ENERGY AND ITS TRANSFORMATION”
The Natural Science curriculum emphasizes the importance of developing students’ competence in applying knowledge and skills. This study aimed to propose a framework of competence in applying knowledge and skills through STEM teaching, design the STEM lesson “Energy and its transformation,” and evaluate its impact on the competence development of grade 6 students. The framework and assessment tool were developed through a synthesis of literature and iterative expert consultation; the lesson plan was designed to align with the objectives of the curriculum and the proposed framework. A pedagogical experiment was conducted at Trung Vuong Secondary School (Thai Nguyen province) with one experimental class and one control class. Data sources included teachers’ assessments of students’ competence in applying knowledge and skills (comprising five competence components, nine criteria, and three proficiency levels) and the results of a 45-minute knowledge test administered to both classes after the experiment. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, independent-samples T-tests, and effect size calculation. The findings showed that students demonstrated growth across all competence criteria, with the largest improvements in identifying foundational knowledge and in designing/testing products. The knowledge test results also indicated that the experimental class achieved better learning outcomes than the control class after participating in the STEM lesson. AN INTEGRAL REPRESENTATION OF THE PELL NUMBERS AND THE PELL-LUCAS NUMBERS
We report on an integral representation for the Pell sequence, Pell-Lucas sequence, Balancing sequence and Lucas-Balancing sequence. This integral representation is based on the generating function and the Binet-like formulas of the aforementioned sequences. TOTAL SYNTHESIS OF THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT ACETYL TETRAPEPTIDE-3 FOR HAIR LOSS TREATMENT AND SCALP CARE
Acetyl tetrapeptide-3, a raw material for cosmetic production, was successfully synthesized on the laboratory scale with a high level of purity using the solid-phase peptide synthesis technique. Analysis by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) confirmed that the yield of acetyl tetrapeptide-3 was over 56% with a purity of 100%. IRIDOID GLUCOSIDES FROM Barleria lupulina LINDL.
Four iridoid glycosides, 6-O-trans-p-coumaroyl-8-O-acetylshanzhiside methyl ester (1), 6-O-p-methoxy-trans-cinnamoyl-8-O-acetylshanzhiside methyl ester (2), 6-O-cis-p-coumaroylshanzhiside methyl ester (3), and ipolamiide (4) have been purified and structurally elucidated from Barleria lupulina Lindl. (Acanthaceae) collected in Luang Namtha province, Laos. Compound 1, at a concentration of 128 μg/mL, inhibited the growth of the A549 cancer cell line by 31% and nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7 cells by 30%. EZMATH: DEVELOPING DIGITAL METHODS, A WEBSITE-BASED APPROACH TO SUPPORT TEACHING MATH WITH FIRST-GRADE VIETNAMESE CHILDREN WITH DYSCALCULIA
Dyscalculia is a term used to describe specific learning disabilities related to understanding numbers that affect the ability of children of all ages to understand, learn, and perform mathematics and number-based calculations. Estimates of the prevalence of dyscalculia range from 3% to 6% of the population, indicating the need for timely support solutions for teaching mathematics to students with mathematical difficulties. Therefore, the general objective of this study is to develop a digital tool in the form of an interactive learning website that provides many features and flexibility for children with dyscalculia. The solution was surveyed with 73 people working in and researching education for children with dyscalculia. THE POLICY OF RELIGIOUS AND ETHNIC HARMONY OF EMPEROR AKBAR (1542–1605) AND ITS INHERITANCE VALUE IN THE PRESENT INDIAN CONSTITUTION
Đế chế Mughal đã đạt đến đỉnh cao của chế độ phong kiến Ấn Độ. Dưới thời trị vì của Hoàng đế Akbar, ông đã thực hiện những cải cách tiến bộ và toàn diện trên các lĩnh vực, làm nên “thời kì hoàng kim” của vương triều Mughal. Đặc biệt, yếu tố then chốt tạo ra những thành tựu rực rỡ đó chính là chính sách hòa hợp tôn giáo và dân tộc của Akbar. Chính sách này đã xoa dịu, ổn định các mâu thuẫn về dân tộc và tôn giáo ở Ấn Độ, làm nền tảng cho sự phát triển toàn diện của đất nước. Cho tới hiện nay, chính phủ Ấn Độ vẫn đang phải đối mặt với nhiều khó khăn và thách thức trong việc giải quyết vấn đề dân tộc và tôn giáo. Chính sách hòa hợp tôn giáo và dân tộc của vua Akbar đã để lại những bài học kinh nghiệm quý báu có giá trị thực tiễn và tính ứng dụng cao, được vận dụng để giải quyết những vấn đề dân tộc và tôn giáo phức tạp ở đất nước hơn tỉ dân và đa dạng tôn giáo như Ấn Độ. Trong khuôn khổ bài viết này, chúng tôi sẽ làm rõ điểm tiến bộ của chính sách hòa hợp tôn giáo và dân tộc của Hoàng đế Akbar và chỉ ra những giá trị kế thừa trong Hiến pháp Ấn Độ hiện nay.The Mughal Empire reached the peak of the Indian feudal system. During the reign of Emperor Akbar, he implemented progressive and comprehensive reforms across various domains, ushering in the "golden age" of the Mughal dynasty. Crucially, the key to these remarkable achievements was Akbar\u27s policy of religious and ethnic harmony. This policy alleviated and stabilized ethnic and religious tensions in India, laying a foundation for the country’s overall development. Even today, the Indian government faces significant challenges in managing ethnic and religious diversity. Akbar\u27s policy of religious and ethnic harmony offers invaluable lessons, offering practical and applicable solutions to complex ethnic and religious problems in a nation of over a billion people and diverse religious communities. This paper examines the progressive aspects of Akbar’s policy and examine its enduring legacy within the framework of the current Indian Constitution
INFLUENCE OF BUDDHISM IN LAO FOLK LITERATURE THROUGH SOME REPRESENTATIVE WORKS
Lào có một kho tàng văn học dân gian phong phú. Nghiên cứu văn học dân gian Lào không thể không nhắc tới sự ảnh hưởng của nhân tố Phật giáo. Bằng nhiều con đường khác nhau, Phật giáo đã du nhập vào Lào, cùng với đó là sự hiện diện của dòng văn học Phật giáo từ Ấn Độ trên đất nước Triệu Voi (tên gọi khác của Lào). Với tính chất ấy, bài viết này dựa trên cơ sở của phương pháp loại hình học, bước đầu khảo sát một số tác phẩm tiêu biểu trong văn học Lào; phân tích sự ảnh hưởng của yếu tố Phật giáo trên phương diện cốt truyện, hình tượng nhân vật, motif. Từ đó, rút ra nhận xét về quá trình giao lưu, tiếp xúc, tiếp biến văn học Phật giáo tại Lào.Lao folk literature constitutes a rich cultural heritage in which the influence of Buddhism is particularly prominent. Through multiple channels, Buddhism has entered Laos, along with the presence of Buddhist literature from India into the “Land of a Million Elephants.” Drawing on the typological method, this article examines several representative works of Lao folk literature to analyze the influence of Buddhist elements in terms of plot, character image, and motif. From there, we can draw conclusions about the process of exchange, contact, and assimilation of Buddhist literature in Lao traditions
