No full text35 years have passed since the publication of Fillmore et al. (1988), which can be seen as one of the foundational works of Construction Grammar (CxG). The present special issue celebrates this anniversary with a collection of papers that revisit influential papers or ideas from the history of constructionist approaches. In this introduction, we motivate our choice of Fillmore et al. (1988) as a seminal paper for CxG, and give a brief overview of the ideas behind this collection of papers as well as of the papers themselves

No full textNachdem die Parteienlandschaft der Bundesrepublik in den letzten Jahren deutlich in Bewegung geraten ist, läuten Gründung und bahnbrechender Erfolg des BSW nun noch einmal eine neue Ära ein. Der Versuch, eine Partei als „Bewegung“ nach Vorbildern aus dem europäischen Ausland auf dem Reißbrett mit starken autoritären Elementen zu konstruieren und dabei die Vorgaben von Grundgesetz und Parteiengesetz teilweise zu dehnen, teilweise klar zu überschreiten, ist in dieser Form neuartig – zumal bei einem derartig rasanten Erfolg bei den Wählerinnen und Wählern. Vor diesem Hintergrund stellt der Beitrag die bisherigen einfachgesetzlichen Regeln für eine Parteigründung und die Vorschriften über ihre Durchsetzbarkeit auf den kritischen Prüfstand

No full textLe Identité et Démocratie Parti (ID Parti), antérieurement dénommé «Mouvement pour une Europe des nations et des libertés», est une association, enregistrée comme parti politique européen par décision de l’Autorité pour les partis politiques européens et les fondations politiques européennes du 14 septembre 2017 portant enregistrement du Mouvement pour une Europe des nations et des libertés. Parce que celle-ci mentionnait dans ses publications sur son site web et sur les réseaux sociaux d\u27autres membres du comité directeur que ceux qu\u27elle avait communiqués à l\u27Autorité, celle-ci a, après plusieurs entretiens, infligé à ID Parti une sanction financière correspondant à 5 % de son budget annuel, soit 47.020,54 euros. Le TPI n\u27a pas fait droit à la demande de l\u27ID Parti d\u27annuler la décision attaquée dans le cadre de la procédure d\u27urgence.
Die Identité et Démocratie Parti (ID Parti), früher als „Bewegung für ein Europa der Nationen und der Freiheit“ bezeichnet, ist eine Vereinigung, die mit Beschluss der Behörde für europäische politische Parteien und europäische politische Stiftungen vom 14. September 2017 als europäische politische Partei eingetragen wurde. Weil diese in ihren Veröffentlichungen auf der Website und in sozialen Netzwerken andere Vorstandsmitglieder aufführte als sie der Behörde mitgeteilt hatte, verhängte die Behörde nach mehreren Gesprächen eine finanzielle Sanktion gegen die ID Parti in Höhe von 5 % ihres Jahresbudgets, d.h. in Höhe von 47.020,54 EUR. Dem Antrag der ID Parti auf Aufhebung der angefochtenen Entscheidung im Eilverfahren hat der EuG nicht entsprochen. No full textParty ban in Spain was effective in the fight against Herri Batasuna and terrorism. Fortunately, in Spain today, there is no terrorism threatening democracy linked to a specific political party. Today, the Basque radical left-wing and pro-independence parties comply with the law. This is the understanding of the Constitutional Court, most of the doctrine and a large part of society. However, Spanish democracy presents other problems and risks, some of them shared with other European countries. But problems such as polarisation, populism and institutional deterioration cannot be solved by this mechanism. Currently, the outlawing of parties has only been proposed for (especially Catalan) pro-independence parties
Evaluating Large-Scale Construction Grammars on the Tasks of Semantic Frame Extraction and Semantic Role Labeling
No full textThis study investigates the application of computational construction grammars to se-mantic frame extraction (SFE) and semantic role labeling (SRL) in natural languageprocessing. It provides an evaluation framework for large-scale construction gram-mars, combining the assessment of different simulations of sentence comprehensionin the context of an SRL task. The study evaluates these grammars, which em-ploy different configurations of heuristics - shortcuts or “rules of thumb” that guidehow the grammar processes and understands language. Just as humans use variousstrategies to comprehend sentences quickly, these computational heuristics help thegrammar efficiently apply constructions to extract meaning from an utterance. Thefocus lies on testing linguistically motivated heuristics, including (1) a preference forconstructions that occur more often in language use, (2) a bias towards relating nearbyelements in a sentence, and (3) a strategy that considers the strength of associationsbetween different constructions in the linguistic network. The analysis reveals thatdifferent heuristics perform better in processing different semantic frames, highlight-ing the importance of well-designed heuristics. Notably, the heuristic that leveragesthe interconnectedness of constructions demonstrated superior overall performance,particularly on frames with high support, such as those with communication, cogni-tion, and perception verbs. This suggests that considering how linguistic elementsrelate to each other in a broader network is crucial for accurate processing, especiallyin commonly occurring frames. The heuristic favoring local relationships showed ef-fectiveness in frames involving expressions of desire, necessity, intention, and actionsrequiring immediate relationships between agents and actions. In contrast, relyingsolely on how frequently a construction occurs showed subpar performance acrossmost frames compared to the other examined methods. These findings, derivedfrom the application of the evaluation framework, contribute to the further devel-opment and operationalization of large-scale computational construction grammars,particularly in optimizing heuristic selection based on semantic frame properties

No full textIm Jahr 2023 lag der Schwerpunkt der politischen Landschaft in Deutschland auf den Themen Energie, Klima und Migration, wobei sich die öffentliche Agenda im Vergleich zu den Vorjahren deutlich verschoben hat. Wichtige parteiinterne Ereignisse, bedeutende Gerichtsurteile mit Auswirkungen auf den öffentlichen Haushalt und Debatten über wichtige Gesetze wie das Heizungsgesetz und die Kindergrundsicherung prägten das Jahr. Die Landtagswahlen in Bayern, Hessen, Bremen und Berlin verdeutlichten die regionalpolitischen Verschiebungen und Herausforderungen. Im Gegensatz zum Jahr 2022, in dem außenpolitische Krisen im Vordergrund standen, zeigte das Jahr die Komplexität des Regierens in der Koalition und die unterschiedlichen finanzpolitischen Vorstellungen innerhalb der Ampelkoalition, die zu internen Spannungen führten. Diese Entwicklungen unterstreichen die sich wandelnden Prioritäten und Herausforderungen, denen sich die politischen Parteien in Deutschland gegenübersehen, sowie den sich verändernden Fokus der Wählerschaft, der breitere gesellschaftspolitische und wirtschaftliche Trends innerhalb des Landes widerspiegelt.
