    Drangsong 058: Tshe thar btang ba’i bon bzhugs pa lags/This dataset contains photographs of the manuscript pages with handwritten text. It is a part of the royal Drangsong collection from Mustang, Nepal.The manuscript Drangsong 058 contains a ritual story about releasing an offering-sheep (gto lug).  It is composed of 3 folios. File naming convention within Drangsong_058.zip archive: Drangsong_058_001r.jpgDrangsong_058 → collection name and number 001 → page numberr / v → recto / versoDRANGSONG PROJECTThe data included here were produced by the members and collaborators of the Drangsong project conducted in the years 2019-2024. Translations of titles and colophons were done by Charles Ramble and Naljor Tsering, transcriptions of selected texts by Nyima Drandul. The features such as bookbinding style, format and layout of manuscripts, as well as the type of paper illustrated with close-up and microscopic images, were taken by Agnieszka Helman-Ważny. The illustrations were described by Nils Martin, and the photographic documentation taken in situ was done by Thomas Schrom and Rinchen Loden Lama. Detailed studies and laboratory analyses of paper samples were carried out by Agnieszka Helman-Wazny in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Archaeometric Research at the University of Warsaw (Barbara Wagner, Agata Szubartowska, Alicja Święcicka, and Bartłomiej Witkowski) and Warsaw University of Technology (Grażyna Zofia Żukowska), using integrated methods such as microscopic fibre analysis, Reflectance Transformation Imaging/Polynomial Texture Maps (RTI / PTM), and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). The value of this collection is twofold: first, the collection was assembled from different parts of Tibet and the Himalaya over six centuries, and offers a rich body of material which can be retrieved by material and codicological analyses that will contribute to our understanding of book and paper making traditions in the region, as well as social aspects of Tibetan manuscript production; and secondly, in terms of its content, it offers a window onto the nature of royal religion in a Tibetan kingdom.     X-ray data for crystal structure of cucurbit[7]uril and histidine complexes

    X-ray diffraction (XRD) data were collected using colourless, transparent, and well-formed crystals on an Agilent SuperNova diffractometer, which was controlled by the CrysAlis PRO software and equipped with a CuKα micro-focus X-ray source (λ&#61;1.54 Å, 50.0 kV, and 0.8 mA) and a HyPix detector. The experiments were carried out at 100.0(2) K controlled using an Oxford Cryosystems cooling device. The crystals were placed on a MiTeGen mount with a droplet of immersion oil and immediately cooled. Each crystal was positioned 54.0 mm from the detector. Indexing and integration were performed using the CrysAlis PRO software.</p

UMO-2020/38/E/HS2/00130).Dataset consists of:a README.txt file with data description;a data_feral_children_fi_and_non_fi_in_English_from_1894.ods file with research data. Research data is a table with list of selected fiction and non-fiction books and short stories featuring feral children protagonists (understood as raised by or among nonhumans). All of the texts taken into consideration were written originally in English from the 1894 onwards.The table includes both fiction and non-fiction books.It excludes books and short stories that feature feral children only as incidental characters.The list is NOT exhaustive.</p

    Enzymatically triggered drug release from microgels controlled by glucose concentration

    This study aims to design microgels for controlled drug release via enzymatically generated pH changes in the presence of glucose. Modern medicine is focused on developing smart delivery systems with controlled release capabilities. In response to this demand, we present the synthesis, characterization, and enzymatically triggered drug release behavior of microgels based on poly(acrylic acid) modified with glucose oxidase (GOx) (p(AA-BIS)-GOx). TEM images revealed that the sizes of air-dried p(AA-BIS)-GOx microgels were approximately 130 nm. DLS measurements showed glucose-triggered microgel size changes upon glucose addition, which depended on buffer concentration. Enzymatically triggered drug release experiments using doxorubicin-loaded microgels with immobilized GOx demonstrated that drug release is strongly dependent on glucose and buffer concentration. The highest differences in release triggered by 5 and 25 mM glucose were observed in HEPES buffer at concentrations of 3 and 9 mM. Under these conditions, 80 and 52% of DOX were released with 25 mM glucose, while 47 and 28% of DOX were released with 5 mM glucose. The interstitial glucose concentration in a tumor ranges from ∼15 to 50 mM. Normal fasting blood glucose levels are about 5.5 mM, and postprandial (2 h after a meal) glucose levels should be less than 7.8 mM. The obtained results highlight the microgel’s potential for drug delivery using the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, where drug release is controlled by enzymatically generated pH changes in response to elevated glucose concentrations.</p

    Facile preparation of hierarchical 3D current collector for Li-ion anodes

    We have developed fast and scalable method of 3D current collector preparation for Li-ion negative electrode. The set-up procedure was optimized by variation of electroplating solution composition, deposition charge and current density. The obtained 3D structure show interconnected, branched dendrite microstructure, along with large pits macrostructure generated by ongoing hydrogen co-evolution. The best deposition conditions resulted with smooth dendrite termination and large amount of macro-pits were established. The sample of the best electrochemical properties was prepared by using 0.2 M CuSO 4 /1.6 M H 2 SO 4 plating solution and 2.0 A cm −2 current density. After covering by Si-based slurry the 3D current collector based electrodes showed excellent cycling stability in the Li-ion battery. The capacity fade was as low as 0.2% per cycle. The main reasons for such extraordinary stability was attributed to better mechanical stabilization of the active layer by copper dendrite structure, which was proven by the EIS results. As the side effect of the layer mechanical stability, the SEI growth was diminished leading to lower internal resistance buildup along cycling. Designed 3D current collector, as one of the few described in the literature, is capable of sufficient active material loading, and can be directly covered by active layer by slurry coating.     English and Polish judicial Eurolects: grammar patterns

    The corpus has been compiled to examine the phraseological profiles of the English and Polish judicial Eurolects, using grammar patterns from a comparative, corpus- and genre-based perspective. The English and Polish judicial Eurolects are exemplified by two interconnected genres: Advocate Generals’ (AGs’) opinions and judgments issued by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).The focus corpus consists of a bilingual (English and Polish) genre-based corpus made up of four subcorpora, each made up of 55 texts:(1) English language versions of AGs’ opinions (807 547 tokens),(2) English language versions of Court of Justice (CJ) judgments issued following an AG’s opinion (756 829 tokens),(3) Polish language versions of AGs’ opinions (703 469 tokens),(4) Polish language versions of CJ judgments issued following an AG’s opinion (641 188 tokens).To limit the scope of the study and to increase its feasibility, the decision was made to include in the corpus only those AGs’ opinions and judgments which were given in cases concerning actions for annulment of an EU act.There are two reference corpora:(1) a sample of the British Law Report Corpus (BLaRC) (cf. Pérez and Rizzo 2012) which consists of 50 judgments handed out by the UK Supreme Court (UKSC) between 2008 and 2010 (735 338 tokens), serves as a benchmark of non-translated English judicial language against which translated EU judgments are compared, and(2) a corpus of 56 judgments issued by the Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of Poland (1 089 817 tokens).All documents in the focus corpus were issued within the time frame of 2020 and 2022 (calendar years), with the only exception of UKSC judgments which were included in a premade corpus available on Sketch Engine (Kilgarriff et al. 2014) and handed out between 2008 and 2010.</p

    Plant macroremains from mediaeval Krakow

    Three linked tables which contain archaeobotanical data from medieval Krakow layers.Table Plants contains information about found plant taxa, their latin names, coded names, ecological and ethnographic characteristics.Table Samples contains data about samples, their location, depth, volume and archaeological dating. Every sample has a unique name.Table Findings contains detailed information about plant macroremains, mainly seeds and fruits, found in the samples listed in Table Samples. Every record includes name of the plant (coded in Table Plants), location (name of sample from Table Samples), type of remain, type of preservavtion and number of items. It is important that all the data were collected, processed and identified in the same way by several generations of archaeobotanists working in W. Szafer Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences, thus the bias connected with diversity of archaeobotanical skills and methods is minimal.The raw data given in Table Findings were never fully published yet.Trzy powiązane tabele zawierające dane archeobotaniczne ze średniowiecznych warstw krakowskich.Tabela Plants zawiera informacje o znalezionych taksonach roślin, ich łacińskich nazwach, zakodowanych nazwach, ekologicznych i etnograficznych właściwościach.Tabela Samples zawiera dane o próbkach, ich lokalizacji, głębokości, objętości i datowaniu archeologicznym. Każda próbka ma unikalną nazwę.Tabela Findings zawiera szczegółowe informacje o makroszczątkach roślin, głównie nasionach i owocach, znalezionych w próbkach wymienionych w Table Samples. Każdy rekord zawiera nazwę rośliny (zakodowaną w Table Plants), lokalizację (nazwę próbki z Table Samples), rodzaj makroszczątka, sposób konserwacji i liczbę okazów. Ważne jest to, że wszystkie dane zostały pozyskane i oznaczone w jednorodny sposób, przez kilka pokoleń archeobotaników pracujących w Instytucie Botaniki im. W. Szafera Polskiej Akademii Nauk, zatem zafałszowanie wyników związane z różnorodnością warsztatu archeobotanicznego jest tutaj minimalne.Surowe dane podane w Table Findings nigdy nie zostały w pełni opublikowane.</p
