The use of technologies in Mathematics Education research paths in the “Mathematical High School” Project
2020 - 2021In the last twenty years the school has been hit by a succession of disruptive and unknown
innovations. In particular, there is institutional talk for the first time of ascertaining competences in
DPR 323-98 (reform of the state examinations of secondary school). Leaving aside the various
indications that have followed one another very quickly, in the Regulations for the Reorganization of
Higher Institutes (DPR 87, 88 and 89 of 2010) a disciplinary system centered on competences is
envisaged, followed by the relative ministerial indications. Finally, we come to the much-discussed
Law 107 of 2015 in which it is provided that the activity of School-Work Alternation is extended to
all three-year courses of high schools.
The PNSD states that “digital technologies intervene to support all dimensions of transversal skills.
But they also fit vertically, as part of the literacy of our time and fundamental skills for a full, active
and informed citizenship”, as anticipated by the Recommendation of the European Parliament and
the Council of Europe and as even better emphasized by frameworks such as the 21st Century Skills,
promoted by the “World Economic Forum” (Bellanca 2010).
In fact, the S.T.E.M. curriculum incorporates the “four C’s” of 21st-century skills: creativity, critical
thinking, collaboration and communication. Students work together to create innovative solutions to
real-world problems and communicate their solutions with others. As they carry out their
investigations and projects, they must access, analyze, and use the information they need to complete
the learning tasks. While working through the task, students build important life and career skills by
learning to manage their time, to become self-directed workers and to collaborate effectively with
others. Using appropriate technology tools to complete their task, students discover the most effective
and efficient ways to access and manage the world of digital information that is available to them
(Beers 2011).
The importance of new skills not included in the traditional school curricula was highlighted in
numerous teaching conferences where it was emphasized that “Exemplary science education can offer
a rich context for developing many 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and
information literacy. These skills not only contribute to a well-prepared workforce of the future but
also give all individuals life skills that help them succeed.” (NSTA 2011)
The choice of the research group in mathematics education of the Department of Mathematics of the
University of Salerno to develop educational paths that exploit the potential of technological tools for
the training of teachers and laboratory activities for students of upper secondary school, is the natural
evolution of an educational Didactic Design aimed at developing models and paths that can be
proposed in the classroom thanks to the help of new technologies.
The research group has been involved for years in updating the teaching of mathematics by bringing
to the center of educational choices the close interconnection between the various disciplines and in
particular the role of mathematics as a bridge between the two cultures, the scientific and the
humanistic. In this interdisciplinary key that aims to become transdisciplinary, new technologies
have the important task of allowing the reworking of in-depth paths on the various curricular themes
through a laboratory activity and in particular experimental research.
This vision of mathematics as a link between the various cultural areas and new technologies as the
key to activating these interconnections, led the didactic research group in mathematics of Salerno to
develop numerous training proposals at various levels.
My research project in mathematics teaching aimed to
• deepen the interrelationships of mathematics with other disciplinary areas,
• prepare both informative and technical teaching material, both in the traditional format of
dossiers and handouts
• organize and structure educational paths for skills that provide for the presence of
"mathematics with...”, or not monothematic paths where mathematics is linked to physics and
chemistry, but transdisciplinar paths that tie mathematics to all the disciplines of the
curriculum. In particular, the importance of mathematics in various historical contexts, in
philosophical processes, interconnections with literature, art, music, religions, sport...
• implement the use of new technologies and new learning processes also thanks to dedicated
hardware and software. Young people are commonly called "digital natives", they are used to
living with computer technology much more than previous generations and it is appropriate
that they also find it in study paths, in order to learn that even non-"dedicated" tools can be
portable laboratories (exactly as twenty years ago scientific calculators supplanted logarithmic
and trigonometric tables ...). Inevitably the future will lead to an increasingly pushed and
exasperated use. It therefore becomes essential that the world of education uses and makes its
own the available tools and transforms them into an "accelerator of interest": only if teachers

Integrated structural and thermal upgrading of Existing masonry walls using Textile-strengthened mortars with jute fibers: A cross-scale experimental study
2021 - 2022In last few years, scientist and researchers are working to find the best solution
for integrated reinforcement techniques to achieve integrated (Structural and
Thermal) upgrading or retrofitting of masonry walls using Textile Reinforcement
Mortar (TRM)-system. Majority of masonry buildings are constructed without
following seismic and thermal standards; therefore, they are vulnerable to natural
disaster (earthquake) and mostly energy inefficient, and urgently they need
retrofitting or upgrading.
This thesis presents an Integrated (Structural and Thermal) upgrading of
the masonry walls with Natural Fiber (NF) TRM system and the experimental
results based on the in-plane cyclic compression tests and thermal conductance
test in a Climate Chamber (CC). It contains a total of eleven chapters.
Chapter 1 starts with initial introductive remarks and it highlights the
motivations, visions and structure of the thesis.
Chapter 2 contains the state of the art literature review: various
reinforcement strategies have been highlighted, including latest works done on
TRM retrofitting or upgrading.
Chapter 3 mainly underlines latest available guidelines and
recommendations on TRM reinforcement/upgrading, and rules and regulations
on the thermal transmittance or heat transfer coefficient (U) calculations.
Chapter 4 presents the physical characteristics and mechanical behaviors
of the raw jute fibers and its derived products (threads and diatons) obtained
through water absorption tests, aging test, tensile strength tests.
Chapter 5 presents the composite mortars prepared using two different
types (lime based and cement based) of mortars, three different fiber lengths (30
mm, 10 mm and mm) and four different fiber percentages (0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and
2%) with respect to the mortar masses. The mechanical behavior and thermal
performances of these composite samples were evaluated through flexural,
compression and thermal conductivity tests, respectively.
Chapter 6 contains some special cases, where composite samples were
prepared using only 0.5% and 1.0% of fiber with respect to the mortar mass, in
these cases particular attention was made on the amount of water used for the
mortar mix.
Chapter 7 presents the masonry Integrated (Thermo-Structural) upgrading.
Masonry walls were upgraded using various combinations of the jute fiber
products to improve the structural and thermal performances of the masonry
walls. The integrated behavior has been determined through the in-plane cyclic
compression test and the thermal conductance test.
Chapter 8 highlights the innovative approach to recycle scrap jute net fibers
for composite mortar preparation and investigates its thermo-mechanical
behavior.
Chapter 9 presents the observation on crack patterns in the prismatic
samples and masonry wall specimens. This was done using Digital Image
Correlation (DIC) procedure and analysis.
Chapter 10 reports the outcome the carbon-footprint analysis conducted on
the masonry wall upgrading process with jute fiber products, on the basis of on-

Il crowdfunding bancario-finanziario fra novità normative e profili transnazionali
Crowdinvesting digital platforms represent an alternative financing
opportunity of growing importance, which is hindered by the legislative
fragmentation of the phenomenon among the EU Member States. To boost the crossborder provision of crowdfunding services among the EU market players, the EU
Institutions adopted Regulation (EU) 2020/1503, implemented in Italy through
Legislative Decree 10 March 2023 No 30, entered into force on 8 April 2023. This
contribution purports to provide a brief overview of the legal framework on
crowdinvesting platforms, focusing on the emerging private international law issues
relevant to market players domiciled or habitually resident in Italy.Le piattaforme di crowdfunding bancario-finanziario (detto anche
crowdinvesting) rappresentano un’opportunità di finanziamento alternativa di
crescente importanza, che rischia però di rimanere limitata ad una sola dimensione
interna, a causa dalla frammentazione normativa esistente fra i paesi UE. Al fine di
incentivarne la prestazione transfrontaliera, il legislatore europeo ha adottato il
regolamento (UE) 2020/1503, cui l’ordinamento italiano si è adeguato con d.lgs. 10
marzo 2023 n. 30, in vigore a partire dall’8 aprile 2023. Di seguito, si intende proporre
una breve panoramica della disciplina rilevante in materia, concentrandosi sui profili

Sarah Abel: Permanent Markers
Genetic ancestry testing has become increasingly familiar in the past decade. The expansion from small companies investigating particular communities to huge multinational biotech organizations, such as 23andme and Ancestry, has been swift and, frankly, enormous. Ancestry currently has more than 22 million individual DNA records in their commercial database, with smaller organizations such as MyHeritage holding around 6 million. Size matters in this market, as the bigger the database, the more fine-grained detail the service can offer. The tools available to interpret data are developing at speed, with Ancestry now using “SideView” to suggest which parent contributed which parts to an individual DNA (this is akin to the “Lazarus” tool that was developed by the Gedmatch family history community). Their “DNA Traits” tool suggests that genetic data can explain or reveal foundational ‘truths’ about a user. For public historians, the challenge of these new technologies and what they mean for contemporary historical sensibilities is acute and widespread. DNA, as Sarah Abel writes, “is increasingly being used as a tool for piecing together individual and collective histories”

Siamo quasi a 3 anni di registrazioni, di pubblicazioni e di impegno.
Abbiamo terminato la stagione precedente con un ultimo episodio (57) alla “federazione del Carabiniere Reale”.
Dunque una quarta stagione che inizia all’insegna dell’intelligence e dei Carabinieri in servizio nel SIM!
Bisogna ricordare che i Carabinieri hanno sempre avuto un ruolo importante nel servizio di Intelligence. Non lo diciamo noi, ce lo ricorda molte volte l’opera avviata oramai tanti anni fa di Maria Gabriella Pasqualini.
Una delle figure più importanti per il servizio di intelligence tra la metà degli anni Venti e la seconda Guerra Mondiale è il tenente colonnello Manfredi Talamo, poi martire delle Fosse Ardeatine e Medaglia d'Oro al Valor Militare.
L'organizzazione del SIM tra il 1935 e il 1940 fu piuttosto stabile e prevedeva un servizio strutturato su di un ente centrale che svolgeva le funzioni di comando e di controllo sui reparti dipendenti. Tra questi reparti vi erano i centri controspionaggio (Centri CS) composti dai militari dell'Arma dei Carabinieri Reali. Talamo fu capo del Centro CS di Roma e riuscì a penetrare numerose legazioni di vari Paesi.
Catturato dai tedeschi dopo la proclamazione dell'armistizio dell'8 settembre 1943, fu torturato e quindi ucciso alle Fosse Ardeatine. Morì a 49 anni un ufficiale dell’Arma dei Carabinieri Reali, morì un marito e un padre di ben quattro figli, lasciando la famiglia priva del principale sostentamento in uno dei momenti più bui della storia del nostro Paese.

Difesa comune europea, “Strategic Compass” e valore (costituzionale) della pace
In an increasingly fragmented and disunited geopolitical context, we are
witnessing an incessant, strong change in the global space and the emergence of new
threats, traditional or hybrid, which contribute to enriching and consolidating the
complexity of the contemporary world. In such a geostrategic framework marked by
“constant uncertainty”, the recently adopted “EU Strategic Compass”, represents a
significant step in the process of building a common defense model capable of
safeguarding and promoting shared values and interests among the Member States
regarding the security and integrity of European borders and values. The result of a
joint effort, which has seen the synergistic action of EU institutions and Member
States, the document becomes a guarantee instrument for the activation of initiatives
aimed at affirming, from an international perspective, internal cohesion and the
sharing of strategic objectives also in partnerships with other actorsIn un contesto geopolitico sempre più frammentato e disunito, si assiste ad
un incessante, forte mutamento dello spazio globale ed all’emersione di nuove
minacce, tradizionali o ibride, che contribuiscono ad arricchire e consolidare la
complessità̀ del mondo contemporaneo. In un siffatto quadro geostrategico connotato
da “costante incertezza”, la “Bussola strategica Ue”, di recente adottata, rappresenta
un passaggio significativo nel processo di costruzione di un modello di difesa comune

Per una biobibliografia critica di Dario Bellezza
In questo articolo si propone una ricostruzione biobibliografica della vicenda di Dario Bellezza. Il lavoro di ricerca qui presentato risponde a quella che, nell’ambito degli studi sull’autore, risulta oggi essere una mancanza. L’assenza di un apparato cronologico di riferimento, redatto secondo un criterio critico e scientifico, ha reso infatti necessaria una sistemazione dei dati relativi – che appaiono ad oggi spesso indisponibili o inservibili a tale lavoro, in quanto influenzati dalla memoria aneddotica. Alle testimonianze dirette (raccolte nell’ambito di un progetto dottorale attualmente in corso all’Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia) è stata connessa un’operazione sistematica di ricerca bibliografica, in cui si è resa imprescindibile la consultazione archivistica di materiali critici e giornalistici. La redazione dell’articolo mira, dunque, a fornire un quadro dettagliato della biografia del poeta, per offrire un riscontro utile alla messa in luce della sua opera letteraria e intellettuale, e della sua vicenda umana – questioni che saranno ulteriormente approfondite nella futura pubblicazione della tesi.The aim of this study is to propose a
biobibliography of Dario Bellezza. The research
work presented here responds to what today
appears to be a lack in field of studies dedicated
to the poet. The absence of a chronological
apparatus drawn up according to critical and
scientific criteria, raises today the need to work
on biographical data, which often appear
unavailable or useless for scientific research, as
they are influenced by anecdotal memories. The
collection of oral testimonies (carried out as part
of a doctoral study in progress at the Ca' Foscari
University of Venice) was here linked to a
systematic bibliographic research operation, for
which archival consultation was fundamental.
This article intends to provide an in-depth picture
of the poet’s biography to highlight his literary
and intellectual work, in relation to the events of
his life. These issues will be further explored in
the future publication of the doctoral thesis
