School is the main place in which a large and non-specialist audience gets
in touch with history (as a science) through the activity of specialists in the discipline and
textbooks elaborated by academic scholars. At the same time, school is a State institution
and it represents the main channel through which the State itself impose its vision of the
past (as memory). The article proposes some thoughts on the exploitation of monuments
to fallen students in WWI as documents to be analyzed during didactic activities in order
to share historical method and de-mystify national and State narratives that still inspire
the liturgy of the Italian Republic, revealing the power relations that underlie them. Moving from memory to history would then enable students to become more aware citizens

Victims of caste and gender culture: the representation of Dalit women’s issues in Indian film narratives
“Culture” can be defined as “the customs and beliefs, art, way of life and social organization of a
particular country or group” (Oxford University
Press, 2005). This way of life is shown in their behaviour, habits, and attitudes toward each other.
The old-tradition of the caste system has divided
Indian society into various sections which has
given birth to socio-economic and cultural inequality. The basic features of the caste system are:
‘birth-ascription, endogamy, ritual pollution and
traditional occupation’. The system has made
Shudras and untouchables, the lowest castes, the
victims. They are kept to the margins of society
and to the majority even access to knowledge is a
dream. Dalit is a self-adopted term used by this
marginalized section of society. Dalit women are
‘Dalits among Dalits’ as they are the victims of
caste and gender culture, hence, doubly marginalized. Film narratives as the mass media reach a
large audience. Hence, these narratives are important cultural documents that present society's
problems and influence the audience’s perception
on a particular issue. Taking this as background
the paper attempts to highlight the representation of Dalit women’s issues in selected Indian film
narratives: Achhut Kanya (1936), Sujata (1959)
and Article 15 (2019)
Agent based discrete event simulation models for mono/multi Criteria assessment of maritime ports sustainability
2020 - 2021Most of the world economy is based on maritime freight transport and plays a key
role in international trade, being a determining factor in the economic growth of
countries. The steady and continuous increase in the demand for maritime freight
transport in recent years (even in times of pandemic) brought consequences such as
delays in operations due to congestion inside the terminal, congestion in the
connection with the land transport network, unsuitable storage of containers, or due
to human factors since these terminals operate 24/7 and it is necessary to manage
work shifts to avoid unfortunate events.
On the other hand, the functional efficiency of a container terminal is no longer the
primary goal of a terminal, since different sustainability goals are becoming of great
interest and concern port operators, port authorities, decision makers, politicians,
citizens.
The considerable increase in container volumes has increased the concerns on:
(i) the global environmental impacts from port emissions.
(ii) the environmental impacts on those urban areas which host several maritime
ports because port operations can lead to environmental impacts on air,
water, and land.
(iii)the social concerns for the health and safety of ports workers, due to
accidents still depends on a wide range of human errors as be psychological
fatigue despite the automation level reached nowadays,
(iv) the impacts of in/out traffic flows on the city congestion,
(v) the impacts on the liveability of the areas surrounding a port.
In this context, it is easily understandable why wide attention has been given by
researchers to container terminals efficiency, and why terminal efficiency cannot be
solely interpreted in terms of logistic efficiency, coherently with the United Nations
in 2015 defined the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The first part of this thesis work is focused on the modelling and simulation of a
container terminal through the combination of the two main known simulation
techniques, on the one hand the discrete event simulation that allows solving large
problems through discretisation and the agent-based modelling that allows to
incorporate different behavioural logics, which allows to simulate complex and
different technological contexts. In this way, a hybrid simulation is obtained, in
which both modelling approaches usually guarantee an efficient solution in time,
adaptable solutions to changes in the problems and computational stability. .. [edited by Author]XXXIV cicl
The term “baroque” had a negative connotation for a long time from the 19th century onwards, leading to
baroque music being forgotten and the corresponding terminology being abandoned. This particularly
affected the lexicon of vocal tessituras, with terms like “haute-contre” and “basse-taille” whose precise
meaning has now been lost following the renewal of vocal techniques. This article focuses on the vocal
tessituras of the late seventeenth century, comparing French terminology with that of Italian. The aim is
to describe the specificity of French terminology, which was strongly influenced by the cultural and arti-
stic context of the time. The comparison with Italian will show a dissymmetry in the designation of vocal
tessituras, reflecting the distinct musical traditions of the two countries. This asymmetry can be explained
by Louis xiv’s desire to assert a French musical identity independent of Italian influence. The study of
vocal tessitura terminology in French and Italian baroque music is essential for a better understanding of
the relationship between the two styles
The essay examines the formative path of Dante Della Terza's exegesis with specific reference to Erich Auerbach's “figure-mimesis” analysis of Dante
International and european public health obligations vs chemical terrorism threats: the romanian contribution to prevent the use
The paper studies the poem La Primavera by Giovanni Botero, placing it within the cultural context of the court of Carlo Emanuele I and comparing the three surviving redactions. La Primavera constitutes a bridge between late sixteenth-century and baroque culture: Botero acutely captures the new atmosphere and new ideological aspirations, but rejects them in the light of Christian moralism. The choice of digression as the founding principle of the work, however, calls into question the status of the poem, with boldly experimental solutions, which not even Marino himself will have the courage to adopt
protettore.Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, a relatively significant
number of Non-recognised States (NRS) have emerged in the former-Soviet region. Said NRS encounter numerous challenges that stems from non-recognition and that
have an impact on the lives of their citizens. This article examines the citizenship of
the former-Soviet NRS and the challenges encountered by holders of such
citizenships, particularly in their interactions with other European States (including
EU Member States, the UK, and the EEA), where said citizenship is generally not
recognised. Furthermore, individuals seek to obtain the citizenship of the patron
State, even when this is issued in violation of international law. Finally, the focus
moves on to the practice of European States, highlighting the limitations of their
approach and the contradiction that they may inadvertently reinforce the role of the
patron State
