Get PDFDie zunehmende Anzahl internationaler Projekte der Kulturellen Bildung bedarf einer Untersuchung der verschiedenen nationalen wie internationalen Verständnisse. Mit welchen Begriffen, Konzepten und Modellen kann das Feld sinnvoll modelliert werden? Wie kann Kulturelle Bildung stärker in die AKBP integriert werden? Kulturelle Bildung in dem Verständnis, wie es dieser Studie zugrunde liegt, hat das Potenzial, die noch disparaten und nicht vernetzten Dimensionen zusammen zu bringen. Und zum andern liefert die Studie zum ersten Mal konkrete analytische Modelle, um das Feld - über reine Absichtserklärungen, Proklamationen und Glaubensgrundsätze hinaus - transparenter zu machen
Politics of Perception
Get PDFPolitics needs to mediate between global concerns and local interests. In doing so it touches upon identities on various levels of individual, social and political identity formation. Culture and religion set implicit ways not only of interpreting but also of perceiving reality. This is how basic patterns of identity are shaped. Politics needs to be aware, that there are fundamental differences between religious identities making cultural relations a highly reflective task. Identity is built up always in contrast to the “other”, this means that the “other” is both a challenge to and a necessary condition for one’s own identity indicating an interrelationship. Such interrelationships of identity formation can become the source for cooperation but also for fierce competition, depending on circumstances and the respectful or disrespectful acknowledgement of this mutuality. Religions set the final frame of reference in most diverse aspects of life due to their basic myths interpreting reality as a wholeness, and even if religion as an institution is rejected these frames are still working on an implicate level, shaping values and ways of perceiving and thinking. Therefore, political action needs to take into account these fundaments of perception in order to be effective, especially under a long-time perspective
Intangible Cultural Heritage under Pressure?
Get PDFIntangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) is increasingly subjected to social, economic and political pressures in the light of neo-liberal developments and dispossessing, neo-colonial discourses of domination perpetuated by cultural heritage politics. In response, respective legal regimes have been established addressing alienation from those practising ICH, namely cultural bearers and ultimately holders of cultural rights. However, the very nature of such instruments and safeguarding standards may not fully grant non-discriminatory access to its protection regimes being disintegrated from general human rights standards. This may, in turn, result in new patterns of inequalities causing detrimental, adverse impacts on specific groups of communities and individuals. This study disentangles such dynamics and sheds light on both endangered ICH elements and its practitioners. Similarly, it traces agency-driven, empowering ICH practice responding to current patterns of cultural imposition oriented towards plural identity recognition while discovering spaces of contestation

Die Meinungsbildung in offenen Gesellschaften wird zunehmend durch subversive Maßnahmen autoritärer Regime im Internet beeinflusst, wodurch der öffentliche Raum Internet stark eingeschränkt wird. In dieser Studie wird untersucht, wie die Resilienz von offenen Gesellschaften gegen Subversion aus dem Cyberraum gestärkt werden kann, ohne dabei die eigenen Grundsätze preiszugeben. Zunächst wird ein Überblick zu den Diskursen über Cyberbedrohungen gegeben, um sich dann auf die Frage nach der gesellschaftlichen Resilienz zu konzentrieren
