No full textInternational Cultural Relations are still largely carried out with the help of infrastructures shaped by the legacies of European overseas colonialism. Historical reflection is essential, as are practices of relearning. Research and discussions on fair collaboration and its implications on behaviour, terminology, hierarchies and access have only started. The ICRRA 2024/2025 conference questioned epistemological orders: It explored diplomatic practices, as well as contemporary artists’ engagement with frameworks of diplomacy (Northern America), discussed how epistemological pluralism can be achieved through decolonial frameworks and structural change (Germany and Ukraine), presented research on the concept of Extalgia and festivals as paradigms of exchange (Nigeria), and debated on the role of Artivism and its potential for reimagining post-colonial narratives (Canada, Mexico, Colombia).
This grey literature publication is an essential resource for researchers and students who want to delve deeper into the topics that were presented by our specialists during the conference’s panels

Décoloniser les relations culturelles internationales
No full text« Les pratiques décoloniales dans les relations culturelles internationales » proposent un argument convaincant visant à reconsidérer les fondements épistémiques et les pratiques opérationnelles de l’engagement culturel à l’échelle mondiale. Les échanges culturels, la coopération artistique et l’artivisme permettent d’offrir une approche dynamique et politiquement engagée de la décolonisation, nous incitant à imaginer des modèles de diplomatie culturelle plus justes et plus inclusifs. Les voix issues de ce que l’on appelle le Sud global, une majorité mondiale marquée par des expériences spécifiques de domination et de luttes pour la libération, sont essentielles pour comprendre les enjeux des problématiques d’aujourd’hui, car elles trouvent leur origine dans une pratique historique particulière de la modernisation survenue au cours des derniers siècles. Écouter ces voix peut être un moyen pour résoudre certaines de ces problématiques. Les décideurs politiques et les institutions doivent y répondre non seulement en faisant résonner ces voix, mais aussi en transformant les structures mêmes par lesquelles la culture est produite et échangée sur la scène internationale. Dans ce sens, les pratiques décoloniales peuvent être comprises comme des pratiques visant à promouvoir une plus grande égalité mondiale et un renforcement du pouvoir citoyen dans le cadre des relations culturelles internationales
