Practical projects on system developments for improving work efficiency by teams of students, faculties and staff members
Get PDF問題解決型学習によって、学生は実社会に役立つ技能を獲得できる。本稿では、広島市立大学の職員の業務課題を学生と教職員の協働により定義し、ローコードツールを用いたアプリ開発によって解決する正課外プロジェクト「業務改善タスクフォース」を実施した成果について報告する。学生は職員へのインタビューや業務見学により本質的な課題を発見し、アイデアを実現するプロトタイプの作成とレビューを繰り返すことにより業務改善につなげた。活動を通じて、参加学生は自身の問題発見力、自己学習、情報リテラシー、対人技能といった技能の向上を実感できた。Project based learning enables students to acquire useful skills in the real world. This paper reports the results of extracurricular activities “Task Force on business improvement” in which students identified problems in office work at Hiroshima City University with staff members and solved the problems by developing applications using a low-code tool. The students discovered the essential problems by interviews to staff members and observing daily work. And then the students developed applications by iterating prototyping and reviews to solve the problems. Examining Factors Influencing Ability Development and Career Formation of Manufacturing Industry Engineers: Insights from Interviews with 15 Preeminent Experienced Engineers in the Hiroshima Area
Get PDFIn Japan, the progression of an aging population, declining birth rates, and regional decline are becoming increasingly serious issues. This situation positions Japan as a model for an aging society within the international community. To overcome these social challenges, improving productivity is key. One method to enhance productivity is through ability development and career formation. In this context, manufacturing industry engineers are crucial human resources for shaping Japan’s future. Consequently, ability development and career formation are essential for enabling these engineers to excel. This study poses the question: “What are factors influencing ability development and career formation of manufacturing industry engineers?” The aim is to analyze the characteristics of manufacturing industry engineers and collect case studies for theorizing ability development and career formation. The research methodology involves conducting interviews and analyzing the results using inductive reasoning. Fifteen preeminent experienced engineers in the Hiroshima area participated in the interviews. Analysis of the interview survey results suggests that “steady accumulation” appears to be necessary for the ability development and career formation of manufacturing industry engineers. Additionally, it is inferred that “proactivity” arising from being “diligent” and having “high pride” significantly influences ability development and career formation
Kazakhstan's Pension System: Toward Pension Reform in Japan
Get PDFThis paper summarizes the history of Kazakhstan’s present pension system and describes the six main pension plans which form the present system. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Kazakhstan’s pension system changed significantly in the ensuing economic turmoil. In the 1990s, it became difficult to maintain the pay-as-you-go pension system that had been in place since the Soviet era, so the system converted to a funded pension system in 1998. Since then, the pension system in Kazakhstan has been revised many times, including the introduction of a basic public pension in 2005 and integration with the unified funded pension fund and transfer to it in 2013. The system consequently has a complicated three-tiered structure now. As Japan is currently facing the problem of an aging society with a declining birthrate, it is important to learn from the experience of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan’s experiences suggest that the transition from a pay-as-you-go system to a funded system may not proceed as we expect. In addition, it reminds us that the governance of organizations managing the pension system and the establishment of sound financial systems, such as an efficient capital market and free financial transactions, are vitally important for public confidence in the pension system
