探究的な学習を指導するための教授学的理論研究 : 理解か、成果か、それとも変革か?
This paper attempts to theoretically organize the types of teaching and learning processes that occur in inquiry-based learning. By doing so, it is hoped to provide a comprehensive perspective that will serve as a basis for future practice and reflection on the instruction of inquiry-based learning. According to the national curriculum in Japan, inquiry-based learning has been described as a series of learning activities that involve the repeated development of a problem-solving activity. While the expansion of inquiry-based learning in schools has been accompanied by an increasing number of guideline studies, theoretical research on inquiry-based learning seems to be insufficient and its didactic implications remain in a state of chaos. As a research framework, this study is based on didactic theory with an ideal type model of five types (imitating, practicing, comprehending, enabling and shaking didactics). Based on this framework, the application of didactic theory for inquiry-based learning can be constructed around three types of inquiry: inquiry for deeper understanding, inquiry for more successful performance, and inquiry for cognitive and behavioral transformation. It is important for each school to choose a type according to its circumstances and purposes of inquiry-based learning.journal articl

Providing “Allies” and “Perspectives” as the Significance of Community Spaces: The Case of Mikata Café in Osakikamijima
Osakikaisei Highschool is located on Osakikamijima, a remote island suffering from depopulation and an aging population, in Hiroshima Prefecture. Osakikamijima Town has adopted a policy of “an island of education” to overcome this problem and has started the High School Attractiveness Project. It produced certain results, but in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic, efforts were made to open what is called “Mikata Café” and provide high school students with varied “perspectives” and “allies.” The purpose of this article is to organize basic information on the Mikata Café and examine its outcomes and significance based on interviews with the people involved. Consequently, it was found that Mikata Café played a role that high school did not play, especially in providing students with “allies.” However, since this study is based on interviews with a small number of people, a larger scale study is recommended for the future
国際政治の理論と現実の相互関係に関する一試論 : リベラル国際秩序・ウクライナ戦争・アメリカ外交
This research note seeks to explore the mutually constitutive relationship between International Relations (IR) theories and realities of international relations, with particular reference to the interplay between the recent debate on the liberal international order and current U.S. foreign policy. The research note looks at how recent developments and events surrounding U.S. foreign policy have shaped the debate between realists and liberals over the liberal international order and examines how this debate has in turn influenced U.S responses to the war in Ukraine and given rise to the emerging disagreement as to whether the U.S. should continue to provide military, financial, and other types of assistance to Ukraine. The Biden administration has identified Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as a threat to the rules-based liberal international order and has offered military and other forms of aid to Ukraine in pursuit of a just peace. However, realists and realist-leaning politicians in the U.S. are becoming increasingly vocal in their criticism of the Biden administration’s policy toward the war in Ukraine, calling for an early negotiated settlement. How the Biden administration responds to this challenge will likely have a profound impact on how the debate over the liberal international order will unfold in the future.journal articl
