English Vs Albanian: Impact of English on Albanian Language in Post-War Kosovo
Mentor: Dr. Sejdi SejdiuThe English language is in practical terms the most popular language in the world today, the so-called linguafranca. Language; media, music, politics, economy, art, science, etc. etc. are many fields that are discussed and viewed through the prism of English. In this context, the “smaller” and “less” influential Albanian language in Kosovo, especially after the 1999 war and intervention of the international community against the Serbian security forces, has in the post-war period of time here come into a much closer contact – and impact – of English; countless organizations that simply flooded Kosovo after July 1999, civilian or military alike, also brought many changes and impact on the Albanian society too, among other things. And when it comes to the language itself, the Albanian one, the impact was not always and necessarily a positive one, as it will be shown in more detail and in depth in the thesis.
The work itself is not a re-invention of the wheel, since this is a widely recognized issue locally, and not only locally, but rather an attempt to localize and define comprehensively the very roots that lie at the heart of the subject, apply various research methods that will shed light on the topic and detail the core of the issue, and offer optional alternatives and suggestions.
Discussing and analyzing such an intimate human topic as language, maybe the most intimate one, is and always has been a deep, challenging and complex dip in the very human soul, because after all the languages and dialects that we all human beings speak are nothing but a mere reflection of the human soul. In our brightest heyday and happiest moments as well as in our darkest hour and deepest sadness, language is and always will be the vocal tool that will palpably express our inner self; the outer reflection is just a physical wave of sounds, morphemes and phonemes, while the inner and deep source is the eternally hidden human spirit and human soul. Some might argue that there are also human beings who for various reasons, mental and physical alike, cannot express themselves vocally and in this way appear of lacking the capability of lacking this unique gift called human language, but this could not be farther the truth; the language element is still there, in them, in their blood, their DNA, their soul, their very being. There is no physical thing and force that can stop the unstoppable and free human spirit, and in turn free choice of language expression. Language is with us, this unique kind called mankind, since the very beginning, it can and will never split apart from the fabric of mankind, and will ultimately follow the fate of mankind, whatever that fate is going to be.
From the perspective of this big picture, the English-Albanian relationship can be viewed from two principal viewpoints: firstly, this is obviously a much smaller, more specific and more narrowed part and angle of the overall language puzzle. After all, the English and Albanian native speakers comprise a smaller part of the total world population and number of countries, right. Sure, but this is only one part of the truth. The other part of the truth, in fact the colossal one, is that in essential terms both pictures are just - the same; both one single human being soul and all mankind combined equals, still, one single – human soul.
Also, one of the main objectives of this paper is going to be the description, portrayal, reflection etc. of the developments in this particular field just as they are, without any national-romantic or nationalistic/patriotic connotations whatsoever. Zero ones, preferably. A review, analysis and
research about the English-Albanian interaction among Kosovo Albanians without Albanian feelings
The comparison and contrast of noun categories in Old and Middle English written standards
Nobody can argue that language does not undergo changes. Language is not static but on the contrary it is alive and it is on a path of constant shifts and changes. English is no exception. There have been substantial changes in the pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, so too have been substantial changes in every other aspect of the structure of the English language. Fundamental changes were brought by the Middle English period in the English language. Many Old English grammatical features were simplified or disappeared. The process of gradual development from the highly synthetic language of the Old English period to the analytic language of the Late Middle English and Modern English period can be observed through the reduction of inflections. However, my paper is concentrated only on some of the inflectional changes (such as: gender in nouns was lost, the number of cases was diminished, the morphological division into stems or types of declension disappeared) that the nominal system underwent from the Old English period to the Middle English period. Furthermore, it describes the process of reduction of inflections in nouns in Middle English period and observes its advancement through the course of the period
rrjetin e dixhitalizuar, transmetimi i këtyre përmbajtjeve do të jetë i vështirë
për tre arsye kryesore:
2. Ligji kundër piraterisë i promovuar me kujdes nga AMA
Geopolitics of Albania – possibility of involving Republic of Kosovo in the pipeline – TAP
In the Balkans, European countries and the rest of the world fought fierce battles over who will control the gas pipelines, which means not only financial benefits but also powerful geopolitical positions of the countries.
After the failure of two major Balkan gas pipelines – the project “South Stream” and “Nabucco”, the project TAP (Trans-Adriatic Pipelines) definitely won the battle, becoming the largest gas project in the Balkans in the last 100 years. This project will turn Albania into a very important energy artery in Europe. This will significantly affect the dynamics of the economic development of Albania, creating over 15 thousand new jobs with the pipeline in the next five years and over a billion euros will be gained from tax transition in the next 20 years.
TAP Project is currently predicted to have two branches of its own. The first one is the branch tube which will be connected to the main TAP pipeline in Greece and will continue through Bulgaria (180 kilometers long), and is also expected to continue through Romania and Hungary towards Central Europe. The other branch, the so-called – IAP (Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline), will supply Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, while an additional branch of it will pass through Macedonia and Kosovo.
There is no dilemma that this project will be very important not only for the development of the region, but also for its stabilization and integration

Linguistic relativity and objectivism in Ayn Rand’s “The Anthem”
Dystopian fiction generally evokes images and phenomena that belong to an imagined and fictionalized future. However, they derive from political or social situations belonging to the present. The exaggeration of these situations in a potential future serves as a warning for the reader. Sapir and Whorf suggest that language, as an integral part of the society, influences perception through controlling thought. This control is realised through banning the words that indicate certain concepts. Without the words, the concept vanishes and it does not exist for the person speaking the language that has banished the concept. This cognitive linguistics theory, referred to as Linguistic relativity, widens the gap between language and perception. This hypothesis is very helpful in the literary analysis of dystopian fiction since it can expose how characters interact with their own societies. This article aims at exploring the linguistic model of Relativism in Ayn Rand’s “The Anthem”. The novel is set in an unspecified time in the future where freedom and individual rights have been obliterated and the usage of the word “I” is forbidden. This dystopian world is mostly built upon linguistic manipulation and the application of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis is very important for an overall complete understanding of the characters
Pjesa me e madhe e
