    A college student preferences on milk tea beverage in Panabo City: A conjoint analysis

    Milk tea is one of the top beverages that college students choose to purchase. Some milk tea shops offer a lot of different flavours and toppings that students want to purchase and choose a specific flavour to satisfy themselves. This study aimed to find out the specific combination elements of milk tea beverage attributes that were most preferred by the college students at the University of Mindanao by using the Conjoint Analysis Approach. Nowadays, this beverage is one of the trendy drinks and is consistently purchased by students. The survey that the researchers conducted was used to gather information on student's preferences for milk tea beverages. The researchers found out that most students have specific preferences for milk tea. The students of the University of Mindanao often prioritise factors such as sweetness level, tea base, and topping selection when choosing their preferred milk tea variant. Finally, the result of this study and its findings will be helpful to milk tea shops in knowing the preferences about different attributes of milk tea beverages

    Utilization of digital marketing and green supply chain practices among SMEs in Panabo City

    This study's aim is to present the implementation of digital marketing and green supply chain practices towards small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) then the result shows that there is no significant difference between the two variables. This research was designed using quantitative analysis and correlational study through a survey questionnaire. The study examines the use of Cronbach alpha reliability for the independent variable which has 0.948 and for the dependent variable which has 0.952 both show an excellent result. This study involved a total of 225 recommended respondents which are the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) owners and their trustee employees. The findings show that the independent variable with an overall mean of 4.06 and the dependent variable with an overall mean of 4.29 indicating a strong connection between the two variables. Moreover, the objective of this research study is to determine the significant differences between the utilization of digital marketing and green supply chain practices among small and medium-sized enterprises. Given the study findings, a series of suggestions were put forth that might help support and enhance their respective roles in sustainable green supply chain practices and digital marketing

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirement for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial ManagementIn the global market, companies vie for competitiveness through socially responsible practices. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), and financial performance among lending agencies. The study used a quantitative research method, with an adapted and modified questionnaire. Based on the data gathered, on the level of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) among local lending agencies in Davao City, government issues have the highest mean, while on the level of financial performance among local lending agencies in Davao City, solvency has the highest mean among other indicators. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between the level of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), and financial performance among local lending agencies in Davao City which led to the rejection of the hypothesis. Ultimately, the researchers recommend the Department of Finance to fortify regulatory frameworks, encouraging local lending agencies to adopt robust environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practices. They also recommend that the finance department among local lending agencies to proactively embrace and implement ESG principles as part of their operational strategies, and to future researchers that they may explore specific ESG indicators and their nuanced impact on diverse financial dimensions

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Require for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial ManagementIn today's world, where markets are becoming more liberal, the global financial markets have increased the volatility in the worldwide economy. A reliable and efficient commercial bank's services must do three things, which are to generate sufficient profit, provide its customers with the highest level of service, and maintain enough funds to offer to lenders. As a result, the researchers are interested in understanding how bank profitability and rate fluctuations affect each other. The purpose of this study is to determine the commercial banks' services and profitability through the lens of bank clients. There were 100 respondents in the study who were bank clients from different commercial banks in Davao City. The researchers utilized an approach known as the purposive sampling technique to select the participants who were qualified based on the criteria in the study. The following statistical tools that were used to evaluate and interpret the data collected in this study are the mean, standard deviation, and Pearson r. The results were analyzed using a descriptive and correlational research design. The study revealed that commercial banks have high deposits and loans, which results in high commercial bank services. It also showed that the banks have a high profitability. The researchers also found that commercial banks' services have a significant relationship with commercial banks' profitability. Specifically, deposits and loans have a positive and strong relationship with commercial bank profitability. This means that the higher the banks' services, the higher the profitability of the commercial banks. The researchers recommended that clients of commercial banks can contribute to the bank's profitability by maintaining a balanced approach between deposits and loans. Clients can actively support the bank's success by staying informed about interest rates, exploring investment options, and engaging in financial education. Timely loan repayment reduces the bank's risk, improving overall financial stability. On the other hand, owners and managers of commercial banks should prioritize optimizing deposit and loan management, diversifying the loan portfolio, forming strategic partnerships, and investing in technology, and have clear communication, competitive interest rates, and transparent loan processes to maintain a client-centric approach and ensure the bank's competitiveness in the market

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Tourism ManagementThis study, titled "An Evaluation of Sustainable Development Goals and Tourism Impact on the Quality of Life of Local Residents in Davao City," aims to explore the effects of sustainable development initiatives and tourism on the well-being of the city's residents. Utilizing a quantitative cross-sectional research design, data were collected from 385 respondents through a structured questionnaire adapted to assess various dimensions of sustainable development and tourism impact. The study specifically investigates the economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects of sustainable development goals (SDGs) and their relationship with the material, community, emotional, health and safety, and overall life satisfaction of local residents. The findings revealed that sustainable development goals have a significant positive impact on the quality of life of residents, with economic and environmental dimensions being particularly influential. Additionally, tourism impacts were found to significantly enhance residents' material well-being, community engagement, and health and safety. Variations in the impacts of SDGs and tourism were analyzed across different demographic profiles, including age, gender, marital status, educational attainment, and occupation, using ANOVA and t-test statistical methods. Significant differences were noted in several demographic categories, highlighting the nuanced effects of tourism and sustainable development

Through in-depth interviews and observations, the study seeks to understand the motivations, challenges, and perceived benefits associated with cultivating gardens in residential spaces. A purposive sample of backyard gardeners from diverse demographic backgrounds was selected, and data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns. Findings reveal a rich tapestry of experiences, ranging from a deep connection to nature and self-sufficiency to challenges related to space constraints and environmental factors. Moreover, the study uncovers the significance of social connections, cultural influences, and personal values in shaping gardening practices. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of backyard gardening in promoting sustainable lifestyles, community engagement, and well-being. Recommendations for policymakers, urban planners, and gardening enthusiasts are provided based on the study's insights

    Students' Perceptions toward social media and vocabulary learning attitudes of senior high school

    This study explored the significant relationship between students' perception of social media and their attitudes toward vocabulary among senior high school students at UM Peñaplata College. They employed a descriptive-correlational survey research design. The data was gathered from 67 respondents and was analyzed. The mean and Pearson correlation coefficient (Pearson-r) were utilized as statistical tools for data analysis and interpretation. The findings revealed a moderate level of perception towards social media among senior high school students at Um Peñaplata College, indicating that students' perception towards social media is sometimes manifested. Moreover, the results indicated that students placed limited importance on vocabulary and learning new words, suggesting that students' attitude toward learning new words are rarely straightforward. Furthermore, the overall results correlated students' perceptions of social media and their attitudes toward vocabulary learning. Specifically, the findings suggest that greater engagement with social media correlates positively with students' improvement in vocabulary. This study underscores the importance of considering students' perceptions of social media in understanding their vocabulary learning attitudes. It suggests implications for educational practices that leverage social media for vocabulary acquisition among senior high school students

    Unraveling the story of vehicle owners experiences on gas "price hike"

    The purpose of this study was to learn about the experiences of vehicle owners in Panabo City with the gas "price hike." Regardless of age or gender, the participants were five (5) for in-depth interviews (IDI). This study employed a phenomenological method in order to gain important insights into how vehicle owners recognized the "price hike" they experienced when buying gas. Additionally, the study's findings demonstrate how vehicle owners faced real financial difficulties, and the themes are about individual expenditure, household costs, the effect on the marketplace, and, foremost, their coping mechanisms when faced with gas price hikes, which are budgeting and expense management, fuel price monitoring and price comparison, and driving efficiently, which allowed them to stick to their budget. The qualitative facets of drivers' perceptions and reactions to rising gas prices. As gas prices rise and affect drivers' daily routines and budgets, they frequently have to make adjustments to their lifestyles and experience financial distress. It includes difficulties with budgeting and modifications to driving behaviors. Vehicle drivers’ experiences with rising gas prices are complex, involving a range of social, behavioral, and economic factors. It emphasizes how critical it is to comprehend the complex experiences of drivers, including their coping mechanisms, views on the cost of gasoline, and conceptions of environmental sustainability

    Domestic tourists risk perception and visit intention to rural tourism destinations in Davao City

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Tourism ManagementThis study surveyed the relationship between domestic tourists' perceptions of risks and their intentions to visit rural tourism destinations. A survey of 300 participants with randomly selected respondents was conducted to find out the level of risk perception and the level of visit intention to rural tourism destinations among domestic tourists. The survey findings reveal concerns about perception of risk, knowledge of pneumonia, knowledge of tourism, cost risk, attitude of risk aversion, equipment risk, psychological risk, physical risk, social risk, and performance risk. Understanding these perceptions can inform destination management strategies to mitigate perceived risks and promote rural tourism development. This research contributes valuable insights to destination tourism stakeholders in Davao City. With a nuanced understanding of tourists' perceptions and motivations, stakeholders can devise targeted interventions to enhance destination attractiveness, alleviate perceived risks, and foster sustainable rural tourism development. This research aimed to determine the perception of tourist risk and visit intention for rural tourism destinations among domestic tourists in Davao City. This research is important not only to the tourism destinations but also to the tourists in Davao City. The findings underscore the significance of risk perception in shaping tourists' behavior and preferences, highlighting the need for destination managers to address perceived risks effectively. Strategies for mitigating risks and enhancing perceived safety and security in rural tourism destinations are discussed, along with implications for destination marketing and promotion efforts. The method used for the surveys was the descriptive- quantitative method. This study randomly assigned respondents who were willing to answer the surveys prepared. Drawing conclusions and recommendations was thoroughly based on the findings of the researchers

    Effect of employee empowerment on organizational performance in the BPO industry in Davao City

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Human Resource ManagementThis study investigates the influence of employee empowerment on organizational performance within the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in Davao City. Drawing upon Kanter's theory of structural empowerment, the research examines the interrelationships among critical dimensions of employee empowerment, such as access to information, resources, a supportive work environment, and opportunities for learning and development, and their impact on organizational performance indicators such as employee commitment, productivity, and retention. Empirical data were gathered from surveys administered to 100 BPO employees in Davao City. They employed regression analysis to establish correlations between empowerment and organizational performance indicators. The results reveal significant positive associations between employee empowerment and organizational performance, particularly emphasizing the critical role of a supportive work environment in employee retention. This study stresses the significance of empowerment initiatives for organizational success. It provides actionable recommendations for HR professionals, leaders, and researchers to enhance employee empowerment and organizational effectiveness in the BPO sector
