Students' online learning experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic
No full textIn Fulfillment of the Requirements For the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Social WorkWhen the COVID-19 virus started to spread all over most countries, including the Philippines, educational institutions were forced to switch from traditional learning set up to distance learning. The unplanned shift in the educational system has posed an extraordinary challenge and impacted the education sector. When online class was adopted in the Philippines to continue the education process, teaching and learning took place using electronic technologies that are relatively new to the teaching-learning community. This investigation focused on college students' experiences in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This qualitative study was conducted using the phenomenology method. The seven participants were purposively
selected to be interviewed via platforms such as Google Meet, Messenger, or Zoom. The researchers emailed them with informed consent first to assure the participants of their rights and privacy. The interview was video- and audio-recorded with the participants' permission for documentation reasons. The data were collected and transcribed verbatim, and the compiled responses were thematically analyzed. The data analysis results reveal three interesting themes: the students' experiences, challenges, and coping strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the participant’s comments on their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, it concludes that online learning has affected college
students emotionally, physically, and financially, especially in
their mental health and the lack of resources for continuing their
education. Finally, implications were indicated about promoting
mental health awareness and understanding the students' situation
in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic
Credit risk management and profitability of lending institutions in Panabo City
No full textThis study aims to determine the relationship between credit risk management and the profitability of lending institutions in Panabo City. This study used a quantitative descriptive correlational research method to know the relationship between the two variables by sampling fourty-six lending institutions in Panabo City. The study administered research questionnaires of both variables, which were interpreted using weighted mean and Pearson-r statistical tool. The level of credit risk management of lending institutions with an indicator of credit risk identification, control, assessment, and mitigation has gathered an overall mean of 4.86, with the descriptive equivalent of very high, while the level of profitability of lending institutions with an indicator return on asset and return of equity with an over-all mean of 4.91 which both has a descriptive equivalent of very high. Therefore, the finding shows that there is a significant relationship between credit risk management and the profitability of lending institutions in Panabo City

popularity in the tourism industry. Many cities across the globe have embraced Architectural heritage conservation and provided support for renovation and reuse as a form of sustainable tourism which generates countless economic, social, and environmental benefits, nevertheless, conservation and preservation of historic Centers, despite being central in urban developments, remain a challenging and complex point of concern. The City of Dapitan, rife with heritage resources, including the Rizal memorial shrine and park, is no excuse for the threat of negligent practices and potential lack of attention to heritage conservation and management. This paper explores the importance of built architectural heritage at a city-wide level and its implications for local tourism. Essentially, it attempts to unravel the nature of the visitors' and tourists' quality of perceived experience relative to their view on the quality of the cultural heritage site. A quantitative method of research will be utilized specifically through descriptive and correlational analyses. The findings revealed a significant relationship between the visitors and tourists' perceived experience quality and perceived cultural heritage of the site. Further analysis revealed that the overall experience is good, where location, social factors, convenience, and information were rated to have barely contributed to a very good visitation experience. Finally, results on the overall perceived quality of cultural heritage sites were acceptable where the only access was rated as good; thus, this suggests that a major point for improvement and development is needed
Financial management practices and profitability among selected milk tea shops
No full textThis study aimed to recognize the significant relationship between financial management practices and profitability among selected milk tea shops. 30 staffs and owners of the milk tea shops were the research respondents of this research. The researchers use the descriptive-correlation method and sampling technique in determining the number of respondents. The statistical tools used were Mean and Person-r. The results revealed that the level of financial management practices in milk tea shops in terms of investment practices, liquidity statements, financial control, and financial reporting practices was very high. The level of profitability in milk tea shops in terms of the inventory holding period, accounts receivable period, accounts payable period, and cash conversion cycle was very high. Therefore, it was found that there a was significant relationship between financial management practices and profitability in milk tea shops with a P-value of 0.00 and an R-value of 0.743. It means that the owners and staffs of milk tea shops in Panabo City were capable of purchasing products from their suppliers
Social media and e-recruitment of human resource management practitioners
No full textThis study's main goal was to examine how human resource management practitioners in Panabo City used social media and e-recruitment. A non-experimental quantitative research design utilizing the descriptive-correlation technique was employed in the study to describe the statistical association between the variables. With the use of stratified random sampling,15 human resource management practitioners in Panabo City are the study's respondent. The mean and standard deviations are used to present the data that the statistician collected, examined, and summarized for descriptive statistics. The relationship between the independent and dependent variables was ascertained using correlation analysis. The results showed that social media got overall mean 3.62, this mean that the level of social media is much manifested and e-recruitment got the overall mean of 4.12 consider as high, which mean that the level of e-recruitment is remarkably developed, using social media to reach a larger pool of people is less expensive, and that many companies have implemented equal opportunity for applicants. Also it was showed that the organizations used social media to speed up the hiring process, while they were unable to lower hiring costs. The data also showed an r-value of 0.0508 and a p-value of 0.85732, which is greater than 0.05. It reveals that there is no significant relationship between social media and e-recruitment of human resource management practitioners
Sales management and profitability among gasoline station in Panabo City
No full textThe study aimed to determine the relationship between Sales Management and Profitability among Gasoline stations in Panabo City. Thirty-five managers/owners of a gasoline station in Panabo City were the respondents of this research. This study utilizes the descriptive-correlation method and random sampling in determining the number of respondents along with Mean and Pearson-r as statistical tools. Moreover, the results revealed that the level of sales management among gasoline stations in Panabo City in terms of sales operations, sales strategy, and sales analysis was very high and yielded a grand mean of 4.28. For the level of profitability of the gasoline station in Panabo City, it garnered a high level of result with grand mean of 4.18. Furthermore, it reveals that there is a significant positive relationship between sales management and profitability among gasoline stations in Panabo City. The results yielded an p-value of 0.01 and an r-value of 0.737, which was less than a 0.05 level of significance. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected
Influence of corporate social responsibility on the financial performance of micro-business entities

The study's main goal was to determine CSR has a significant influence on the financial performance of micro-business entities using a quantitative, non-experimental design with 150 business owners from Barangay Tibal-og in the municipality of Sto. Tomas as respondents of the study. The Mean, Pearson's r, and Multiple Regression Analysis were the statistical tools utilized for data analysis. In fact, the results revealed an overall high level of CSR for micro-business entities, which was very high on regulatory compliance and high on customer satisfaction, ethical culture, and philanthropy and volunteerism. Moreover, the study showed an overall high level of financial performance for micro-business entities, which was also high in terms of return on assets (ROA), return on sales (ROS), and return on Equity (ROE). Therefore, there was a significant relationship between corporate social responsibility and the financial performance of micro-business entities. All the domains of CSR except ethical culture influenced the financial performance of micro-business entities due to the nature of such businesses. The researcher used the Mean as a statistical tool to get the data treatment. The study used a quantitative research design to emphasize the different techniques and indicators' results. The result showed a moderate level of standardization in the Inland Resorts in terms of Location and Environment, Parking, Facilities and Room Accommodation, Public Washroom, and Maintenance and House Keeping Facilities out of 10 indicators. Internship during pandemic: some stories to tell

This study is conducted to identify the experiences of criminal justice students of University of Mindanao Tagum College on their internship program during pandemic. There were fourteen identified participants. This study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach supported by a set of interview questionnaires as the main gathering data tool. Interview questionnaire was used to generate detailed descriptions of the phenomenon. Data analysis illuminated eleven essential themes across participants in: (1) experienced an inability in executing the command, (2) missed the fun in learning, (3) deterred performance, (4) compromised learning due to unstable connectivity, (5) stay focused on the goal, (6) condition the mind over uncertainties, (7) stay calm, (8) extend the patience, (9) built integrity, (10) continue the life started and (11) Uphold persistent. In times of pandemic, internship of the Criminology students in University of Mindanao Tagum College is indeed challenging and marks the student’s difficulty in adapting a new normal learning mode of education. Thus, it is deemed important to evaluate the practiced of internship environment of the criminology students to closely monitor their growth and development.331.125viii, 47 page
