Human resource practices and organizational performance amidst Covid-19 pandemic
This study aims to determine if there is a significant relationship between human resource practices and organizational performance amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, the researchers used the correlation method and design. The researcher tested two variables to determine the significant relationship between the two variables. This research included employees from CFARBEMPCO in Tibungol, Panabo, and Davao del Norte. The study includes 24 employees from the CFARBEMPCO cooperative. The study utilized the mean and Pearson-r statistics. The computed r-value is 0.280, which corresponds to the P-value of 0.185, which is greater than 0.05. It indicates that the null hypothesis was not rejected. According to the findings, there is no significant relationship between human resource practices and organizational performance among selected employees in the CFARBEMPCO cooperative during the COVID-19 pandemic
Avante : Davao sports hub and recreation for youth self-actualization - a thermally comfortable hub through bioclimatic architecture
Numerous studies demonstrate the importance of a state-of-the-art sports facility in Schools that meets students' requirements and preferences, including sports achievement, thermal comfort, and indoor air quality. To address the issue, the researcher used a quantitative study approach to measure the existing heat conditions in selected school facilities in Davao City, Philippines, using field surveys and visual inspection. This research aims to estimate the thermal comfort of existing sports facilities utilizing the ISO 7730 standards, ASHRAE-55, and the Effective Temperature (Te) as an alternative for PMV and PDD. Calculate the thermal resistance of a construction material used in school buildings and sports facilities using the R-value. This study aimed to close these gaps by conducting a post-occupancy assessment of a sports facility's thermal comfort and indoor air quality. The insulating materials employed in the building envelope's principal components affect the thermal state of sports facilities. After evaluating the field results, an ideal solution may be developed to serve as a reference and design selection foundation for designers. Therefore, thermal sports facilities are strongly affected by the insulation materials employed in structural components. The main conclusion of this study is that good design and the installation of suitable base materials in indoor and outdoor activity spaces will significantly influence the sports facilities' thermal condition. This enables the recommendation of potential solutions to identify constraints and the formulation of policy directives that promote urban thermal comfort
Cigarette filters as additives for thermal-resistant composite fiberboard
In Partial Fulfillmentof the Requirements for the Degree Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringCigarette filters have always seemed to have been a problem worldwide because of their improper disposal due to the large amount of hazardoussolid waste produced. Incorporating these cigarette filters into thefabrication of composite fiberboard could be a radical solution for wastemanagement. Furthermore, this study mainly intends to develop athermal-resistant composite fiberboard using cigarette filters. Thethermal conductivity of the fabricated fiberboard, the density, waterabsorption, compressive and tensile strength were observed to assess itsefficacy. The different design mixtures of cigarette filters and sawdust inthe production of composite fiberboard were utilized in this study. Basedon the density results, the mean density of the design mixture 90:10 wascalculated to be lower than the mean density of the control samples. Itindicates that the amount of cigarette filters affects the density of thecomposite fiberboard. The density and water absorption results weresignificant, implying that the design ratio 90:10 has low density. Theresults indicate that the control samples are more compacted and canabsorb less moisture because of the absence of cigarette filter fibers. Onthe other hand, the fiberboards' compressive and tensile strengthproperty varies depending on the number of cigarette filters in thedesign ratio. Moreover, all the composite fiberboards containingdifferent proportions of cigarette filters improve their resistance tothermal compared to the sawdust only as it reduced by 18% for 80:20,14% for 85:15, and 12% for 90:10. Therefore, the inclusion of cigarettefilters have a desirable thermal insulation capability. The different testsconducted on the fiberboards showed that the best result obtained wasthe design mixture 85:15 among all the others. This is because it meets the standard requirements for commercial use. Conclusively, cigarette filters have the potential as an additive for commercially available fiberboards
Thermal insulating material for ceiling based on the synergy of natural corn husks and sap-containing absorbent pad fibers

utilized as a thermal insulation medium. The ratios between absorbent pads and corn husk are 30g AP: 30g CH for 1:1, 20g AP: 40g CH for 1:2, and 40g AP: 20g for 2:1. Procedure of thermal conductivity and resistance, burning rate, and tensile strength are based on the Thermal Testing of Building Insulation Materials by Frawley and Kennedy, ASTM-D1929, and ASTM-D3039, respectively. lowest thermal conductivity (0.533 W/mK), highest thermal resistance (0.465 K/W), and lowest burning rate (1.26 in/min) among the three specimens. Luffa acutangula and pithecellobium dulce in the production of composite cladding core panels using vinyl ester as coupling agent

Natural fibers such as Luffa Acutangula (L.A.) and Pithecellobium Dulce (P.D.) can reinforce structural applications in the fiber-polymer composite. The physical and mechanical properties of PD+LA fibers reinforced with vinyl ester were examined at varying volume fractions to determine the optimal conditions. The study found that the natural fiber composite was optimized at a volume fraction of 25PD+5LA by weight. The optimized volume fraction
of composite has an average density of 0.9527 g/cm3, a water absorption of 0.62%, a lowest average temperature of 37.51 °C, a modulus of elasticity of 4.20 GPa, an internal bond of 56.04 MPa, and flexural strength of 53.73 MPa. The results obtained in the optimized result were evaluated in comparison to ANSI (American National Standards Institute) specifications for basic service hardboard. Based on the findings, the optimum natural fiber composite showed significant potential for structural engineering materials applications
Workforce diversity and employee performance among offices in LGU Panabo City
This study aimed to examine the connection between workforce diversity and employee performance in the Offices of LGU Panabo. Workforce diversity was assessed in terms of education, gender, ethnicity, and socio-cultural background. A non-experimental quantitative research design utilizing the descriptive correlation technique was employed to analyze the statistical relationship between these variables. 269 employees from LGU Panabo City were selected as respondents using stratified random sampling. Data was collected through questionnaires, ensuring reliability through Cronbach Alpha analysis and validity through the panel and research adviser reviews. Descriptive statistics, such as mean and standard deviations, were used to summarize and present the collected data. The results revealed that LGU Panabo City implements workforce diversity among its employees, leading to positive attitudes and interactions among co-workers. The organization also demonstrates equal treatment and behavior toward all employees. The overall mean for workforce diversity was 4.06, indicating a high level of diversity, while employee performance received an overall mean of 3.87, also considered high. Additionally, the findings showed a significant relationship between workforce diversity and employee performance in the Offices of LGU Panabo. This suggests that the diverse composition of the workforce positively influences employee performance within the organization
Theobroma cacao seed oil as corrosion inhibitor for steel saline and acidic environment

damages its physical and mechanical characteristics. Saline water and acid exposure of
steel metals contribute to faster corrosion activity affecting the integrity of steel on various
structural components, and the application of corrosion inhibitors may extend steel's
serviceability. This study investigated the corrosion inhibition properties of Theobroma
cacao seed oil on steel. The weight-loss method was used to determine the corrosion rate
and inhibition efficiency in steel submerged in saline and acid solutions as corrosion baths
with varying concentrations of Theobroma seed oil extract. The results indicate that in 1M
of H2SO4, the maximum efficiency rate of the medium was 70.75%, with an inhibitor
concentration of 0.8 mg/L. On the other hand, 98.72% inhibition efficiency was
demonstrated in artificial saline water at an inhibitor concentration of 0.2 mg/L. These
results demonstrate that the presence of T. cacao seed oil on steel slows corrosion at all
concentrations through the absorption of amino acids that form a protective layer
Customer satisfaction on the queuing practices among supermarkets in Davao City during COVID-19
In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing ManagementThe COVID-19 pandemic forced all industries, especially markets, to adopt a more conservative protocol, which made it challenging for both supermarket managers and consumers in doing their transactions. This made obvious changes in the queuing practices employed in supermarkets; that is, a fundamental aspect in the consumer purchasing experience. Hence, this study is motivated to discover the perceived changes in the queuing management practices in supermarkets and the satisfaction of customers therefor. Importantly, this study also investigates the relationship between queuing management practices and customer satisfaction during the pandemic. Moreover, 300 respondents in Davao City who have made purchases in NCCC, Robinsons, Gaisano, and SM supermarkets participated in this study. Based on the results, Davaoeños agree that perceived waiting time, waiting lines/queuing, and queuing practices, and strongly agree that queuing disciplines are observed in the said supermarkets. Further, results show that the respondents demonstrated high customer satisfaction in terms of satisfaction rate, intention to buy again, net promoter score, and customer effort score. Furthermore, this study found a significant relationship between overall queuing management practices and customer satisfaction during the pandemic
An integration of biophilic architecture to improve the thermal comfort and productivity of workers among commercial buildings in Mintal, Davao City/
This research aims to determine the significant difference in commercial buildings in terms of
thermal comfort and perceived productivity and the effects of thermal comfort on employees'
perceived productivity. A theoretical framework is adopted to explain how thermal comfort
influences employees' perceived productivity in each commercial building. It is an explored
concept in the defined context and has been developed by the researcher. Thermal comfort was
measured using the Guanxi Key Laboratory of New Energy and the Building Energy Saving
Guilin University of Technology questionnaire. For perceived productivity, the researcher used
a modified survey questionnaire from the study of Castelle (2017). The two instruments are
modified survey questionnaires to gauge the respondents' perception of their thermal comfort
and productivity. In analyzing the data, the researcher used Descriptive Statistics and Analysis
of variance (ANOVA) to know if thermal comfort and its effect on workers' productivity differ
in the selected three establishments. And the results showed a statistically significant difference
between the commercial buildings in terms of thermal comfort and perceived productivity.
Also, the analyzed data showed that thermal comfort affects the employees' perceived
productivity. This research supports the existing literature on thermal comfort and perceived
productivity. Furthermore, the researcher recommends that designers consider thermal comfort
and its effect on employees' perceived productivity.
