Common speech disfluencies among grade 12 academic track students: a content analysis of extemporaneous speeches

    No full text
This study explored and described the common types of speech disfluency observed among the Grade 12 academic track of Anonang National High School. Further, this study made use of a mixed-method, wherein the frequency of the occurrence of the speech disfluency among the respondents are measured for the quantitative data, and utilized the conceptual content analysis to describe the types of speech disfluencies occurring among the student speakers for the qualitative data. Additionally, the results obtained from the recorded extemporaneous speech of the respondents revealed the commonly recurring speech disfluencies as Interjection, Blocks, Prolongation, Revision, Code Switching, Word Repetition, Restart, Stuttering, Phrase Repetition, and Syllable Repetition, with Interjection gaining the highest percentage of frequency, and Syllable Repetition as the least. In relation to this, it has been observed that most of the interruption in speech occurs due to the linguistic difficulty and anxiety that the speaker faces during the speech delivery. Hence, to address this concern, the Department of Education, together with the school principals, schools heads, teachers, and students should collaborate in diminishing the occurrence of disfluency in speech

In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master of Arts in Education Major in Teaching MathematicsThis study focused on the influence of academic and emotional self-efficacy on students' mathematics motivation in the new normal. The main objective of the study was to determine if Academic Self-Efficacy (ASE) and Emotional Self-Efficacy (ESE) significantly influence Student Mathematics Motivation (SMM). It also sought to describe the level of ASE, ESE, and SMM in terms of their specific indicators and determine the relationship between them. It was conducted in selected High School of Governor Generoso, Division of Davao Oriental, with 348 student respondents selected through random sampling. Data was gathered through a descriptive survey using a questionnaire, and mean, Pearson-r, and multiple regression were used for analysis. Academic Self-Efficacy, Emotional Self-Efficacy, and Student Mathematics Motivation have descriptive equivalent levels of high. The variables indicators were found to have a significant relationship and a positive correlation. All indicators of ASE and ESE significantly influence SMM except identifying and understanding emotions, which is one indicator of emotional self-efficacy. Hence, parents should assist their children at home, the teachers must create contextualized activities, and DepEd must encourage all the teachers to explore and learn more professionally, as these significantly influence students' motivation to achieve better in their mathematics subject.370.155ix, 37 pages, 57 unnumbered pages: illustrations (some color

Undergraduate thesesThis study investigates the potential of Durian Rinds Fiber (DRF) and synthesized Self Healing Material derived from Durian Rinds (SHM-DRF) as cement replacements to mitigate cracks and enhance the physical and mechanical properties of concrete, particularly in disaster-prone regions like the Philippines. Evaluating the impact of DRF and SHM-DRF at different replacement percentages (1%, 3%, and 5%), the research explores properties such as water absorption, density, and mechanical behavior through destructive and non-destructive tests. Utilizing SEM-EDX, TGA, BET, and visual observation, the study reveals significant improvements in mechanical, microstructural, thermal, and water absorption properties. DRF enhances tensile strength notably, reaching 275.36 MPa ± 52.70, while SHM-DRF contributes to CaCO3 formation crucial for sealing and healing concrete cracks. The findings suggest varying influences of replacement percentages on strength, with DSH1 displaying the highest compressive strength (31.75 MPa ± 2.52) and best self-healing efficiency. At the same time, DSH3 exhibits the highest flexural strength (4.53 MPa ± 0.28). Keywords: Natural Fiber, Characterization, Synthesis, Visual Observation, Crack Repair, Cement Replacement

The study aimed to determine the significant relationship between customer satisfaction and sales performance among restaurants in Babak District, IGACOS. This study employed a quantitative descriptive correlational approach as the research design. Sixty customers were selected using random sampling responded to the surveys. Person product moment correlation and mean were used as statistical tools. Findings revealed that customer satisfaction among customers in the restaurants in Babak was very high. Additionally, sales performance was high. As for the overall correlation of the two variables, it shows that there is no significant correlation between customer satisfaction and sales performance of the restaurants in Babak. The lack of significant from customer satisfaction on sales performance suggests other factors, such as a customer trying a restaurant but not being able to afford to return due to a limited budget. Strategies included implementing personalized marketing campaigns and loyalty programs based on customer preferences to further enhance satisfaction levels

In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial ManagementThis study explores forecasting the Philippine Stock Exchange Composite Index (PSEi) for 2024-2026 using the ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) model. Leveraging historical data from February 01, 2010 to December 31, 2023, the research scrutinizes various ARIMA models, revealing challenges in stability and diagnostic concerns. The results highlight ARIMA Model 7 (2,1,2) as the most robust, demonstrating strong explanatory power and stable dynamics. The forecasted values align with historical trends but exhibit uncertainties, as seen in a wide 95 percent interval. While the ARIMA model performs satisfactorily, acknowledging its limitations, the study recommends exploring model combinations and integrating advanced machine learning methods for enhanced accuracy. Additionally, incorporating three efficient market hypothesis is essential for formulating investment strategies. The research contributes insights to stock market forecasting in emerging markets like the Philippines
