Promoting student participation skills through student organizations
A student organization is a step used to improve students\u27 basic norms, roles and learning functions in accordance with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture number 155/1998. Conversely, Law number 12 of the 2012 government regulation amended in 2014 on the Implementation and management of Higher Education did not provide more details on student organizations. Student organizations under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia tend to be independent in their management with the establishment of Decree (S.K.) by the General Director of Islamic Education number 4961 in 2016. Therefore, this study aims to describe, analyze, and explore students\u27 participation in fostering their organizations through a series of working programs. These programs were predicted to be a medium for students to participate in their communities after they had graduated from college. This is qualitative research with semi-structured interviews, observation, and literature studies as instruments to collect data from 24 informants from eight different campuses in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (D.I. Yogyakarta). The result shows that student participation in organizations includes cadre formation, leadership skills, and educational awareness. Implementing a working program is an operational concern for members on campus; therefore, it is a medium for a country to gain knowledge, prepare for the future, and self-actualize its citizens from the perspective of competency

Performance Analysis Of The Energy Harvesting Techniques In Cooperative Communication Systems of NBIoT Devices With Amplify And Forward (AF) Relaying Protocol
This study examines the system\u27s performance with implementation of the energy harvesting (EH) techniques at source node, S and relay node, R. The RF signals which are used to energy harvesting proccess are broadcasted by destination node, D. The information signals from S are sent to D via a R in a cooperative communication framework. The R uses the amplify and forward (AF) protocol to forward the received signal from S to D. We propose a network system which contain of three femto cells, and an access point of each femto cells work as a relay (R), in a macro cell with a base station or eNB as a destination (D). To find the best R for forwarding the information signal from S to D, we choose the partial relai selection strategy. From the simulation results can be shown that the throughput system and the outage probability system are affected by the location of S or the distance of between S-R and S-D. Also affected by the access point power of femto cell that is connected to electric source, and time swithing factor, Ï which is used to harvest energy at S and R nodes. The shorter distance of between S-R and S-D results a better value of throughput system and the outage probability system, since the gain channel value will be high and increases the SNR value at D. More bigger the power from battery of access point femto cell that is used together with the harvested power by R to forward the signal will result a better value of throughput system and the outage probability system. More smaller time swithing factor, Ï results more time period for transmitting signal by S and forwarding sinyal by R, therefore increases the transmit power at S and R. Increasing the transmit powers result the increasin SNR value at D, and result a better value of throughput system and the outage probability system
Analysis of the meaning of continuity and differentiation: A study on graph problems
Continuity and differentiability are concepts that students must master to effectively learn and solve problems in a variety of contexts. Thus, this study sought to elicit students\u27 interpretations of the relationship between continuity and differentiability, particularly in graphic problems. Through a qualitative approach, this study involved 195 third-year undergraduate students from various Indonesian universities. Ten of them agreed to an in-depth interview for exploration and clarification. Thematic analysis was conducted to deduce patterns from the responses of participants based on the findings. This study discovered three types of meanings that students construct when they solve problems: 1) physical meaning; 2) analytical meaning, and 3) covariational meaning. The three findings could serve as a conceptual framework for future learning processes that emphasize continuity and differentiability. Additionally, our research revealed that Indonesian undergraduate students are unfamiliar with the graphical problems associated with the two concepts. Thus, future research will focus on developing learning strategies that incorporate a variety of representations to improve students\u27 conceptual understanding of calculus concepts

A shift of political education to the market\u27s needs: A criticism for the development of a value-based political education of Partai Keadilan Sejahtera
This research aims to understand the shifting of political education at Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (Prosperity and Justice Party (PKS). I employ theory of social contract to analyze phenomena involving the elites and the rest of the Muslims. This research is a study of the literature complemented with an in-depth interview with those who involve in the political education either as the subjects or objects of it. The data, then, were analyzed by means of a method of critical discourse. The political education shifting, partly, is related to the shifting of conception on the relationship between Islam, as normative values, and Indonesia, as the context for its implementation. At first, PKS tends to produce a cadre who has strong characters such as a pious cadre and loyal to the party. Majority of the elite party failed to represent themselves at the Parliament. Then, they develop political education which produces activists who are capable of accommodating Islamic values to the political calculation. At last, PKS follows the market demand of middle class Muslims who aspire to produce the religious and modern young Muslim generation. By so doing, PKS is able to expand its political influence amongst the people, especially the Muslim
