    Flipbook-based hybrid media in e-learning Pancasila education course at PGRI Yogyakarta University

    The purpose of this research is to (1) develop a hybrid flipbook-based media in e-learning Pancasila Education courses as a step to reduce the use of internet quotas, (2) make Pancasila Education lectures varied and fun, and (3) know the validity of media, matrials, and design. The methods used use a quantitative epproach with this type of research development of the ADDIE model. The research subject of student in semester 1 of Program Studi Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Data Collection techniques use observationsm interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques use quantitative descriptive. The results of flipbook-based media research in e-learning Pancasila Education courses at Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta to be used to obtain 87% media validity, 86% material validity, and 88% design validity. Hybrid media-based flipbook Pancasila Education courses become a variety of fun lectures in the covid-19 pancemic and can reduce the use of the internet because it is used offline. In addition, the use of flipbook-based hybrid media can increase student learning achievement by up to 11%

    Development and validation of a self-assessment-based instrument to measure elementary school students\u27 attitudes in online learning

    Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic makes it difficult for teachers to assess student learning attitudes. Limited availability of instruments to measure attitudes of students when they are engaged in online learning leads to difficulty of teachers to conduct appropriate assessments on that measure. The current study, therefore, mainly was intended to produce a self-assessment-based instrument that is feasible to use to measure students\u27 attitudes in online learning. In order to produce such instrument, we used developmental research method by following steps in the instrument design that is proposed by McCoach, Gable, and Madura. Furthermore, in order to provide feasibility of our instrument, we provided evidence of content validity through experts\u27 judgment data as well as evidence of construct validity with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and reliability estimation with Cronbach\u27s α through a limited trial and an expanded trial using response data of sixth graders of elementary school engaged in online learning. Our study has produced a self-assessment-based instrument that uses a summated rating scale and is composed of six components (i.e., honest, disciplined, responsible, polite, caring, and self-confident) and 24 items that have demonstrated evidence of content validity, stable factor structure, and high reliability estimates

    Determinant factors affecting the research performance of lecturers receiving external funds

    Quality research can positively impact the development of science and technology and improve the reputation of universities. This study investigates the determinant factors that affect the research performance of lecturers who obtain external funding. The sample was 41 lecturers who obtained external research funds from various institutions (e.g., Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia; National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia; and similar institutions) for the last three years (2021 - 2023). Cluster analysis using secondary data (Science and Technology Index or SINTA data) was conducted to determine research performance clusters (high and low). Discriminant analysis was conducted to determine the determinant factors affecting research performance achievement based on the cluster analysis results. The results revealed that internal factors, including mastery of English and interest in the research topics offered, are determinant factors that affect the research performance of lecturers receiving external funding. In external factors, eight determinant factors affect research performance, namely: support for dissemination of research results in journals, support from research assistant staff, satisfaction with awards from the university, satisfaction with awards from outside the university, support for research matching funds from the university, training in writing research proposals, ease of obtaining research permits from agencies outside the university, and adequacy of facilities at the university. Universities need to consider these factors to encourage the improvement of the research performance of lecturers receiving external funding

    Effectiveness of situation based learning model on problem solving abilities and mathematical disposition

    This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the SBL learning model on the mathematical problem-solving ability and mathematical disposition of grade VIII Junior High School students. The lesson material focuses on the flat-sided shapes of prisms and pyramids. This is an experimental study that uses a one-group pretest-posttest design, and the study population consists of eighth grade students from junior high schools in Klaten, Central Java, which consists of eight classes. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling, and the treatment was administered to class VIII H using the SBL learning model. The study found that the SBL learning model was effective in improving the problem-solving abilities of junior high school students, with an N-gain score of 0.6231. However, it was not effective in improving their mathematical disposition, with an N-gain score of 0.3005. The application of the SBL learning model can be considered as a solution for developing students\u27 mathematical problem-solving abilitie

    Tandem walking exercise to improve cognitive function in the elderly

    Decreased cognitive function in the elderly is the leading cause of inability to carry out normal daily activities, as well as a high level of reliance on others in caring for themselves. The many problems that arise due to decreased cognitive function require a healthy aging process so that decreased cognitive function does not cause health problems in the lives of the elderly. Decreased cognitive function in the elderly is the biggest cause of inability to carry out normal daily activities and is also the cause of the elderly experiencing a high level of dependence on others in caring for themselves. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of tandem walking exercises in improving the cognitive function of the elderly. This research is experimental with a one-group pre and post-test design. Target population in this study were the elderly who experienced cognitive impairment in Dangin Puri Kauh Village, Denpasar Utara District. Sampling method used in this research is purposive sampling. The research sample consisted of 24 people who were given tandem walking exercise. Measurement of cognitive function was carried out using the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), which was measured before and after being given training. Data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS Version 25.0 application. The results of testing the hypothesis using the wilcoxon rank test obtained an average before training of 22.46 and an average after training of 27.08 with a value of p = 0.000. Mathematics with cultural nuances (ethnomathematics) will contribute greatly to learning mathematics. Ethnomathematics can be used to make it easier for students to learn through a cultural approach. This research aims to: 1) Find out what mathematical concepts are found in the Purun craft of Geronggang Island. 2) Find out what philosophical values are present in the Purun craft of Geronggang Island. 3) Find out how junior high school mathematics learning can be implemented within the context of ethnomathematics in the Purun craft of Geronggang Island. In research data collection, researchers are directly involved in the data collection process through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data was analyzed by carrying out data reduction, data presentation, and data exploration.     The increasing boundaries of agriculture and health disciplines in STEM to STEAM-H (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Mathematics, and Health) is an opportunity for the world of education to expand integration between disciplines for solving increasingly challenging and complex problems. The Agricultural Product Processing Program, one of the spectrums of vocational education in Indonesia that focuses on agriculture, is located in the STEAM-H area. Therefore, this study aims to explore cross-subject connections, essential concepts, and teacher beliefs to implement integrated learning. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews and documents. Participants were teachers at SMK Agrotechnology Processing Agricultural Products in Ciamis, Indonesia. Descriptive analysis was carried out on the standard subject matter of agribusiness, mathematics, and science to obtain an overview of interdisciplinary connections in STEAM-H and the essential concepts within it. The findings of this study are that mathematics and science have a role in processing agricultural products subject, as indicated by the existence of conceptual connections in them. Concepts of processing products of agriculture become conceptual and contextual integrators of science and mathematics. The essential concepts of mathematics and science are either explicit or implicit, within or outside the secondary school curriculum set by the government. Based on the participants\u27 beliefs, integrated STEAM-H in learning can be carried out at agribusiness vocational schools. This finding has implications for integrated STEAM-H learning planning that requires further research

    The effectiveness of flipbook-based e-modules in increasing student creativity in nail art subject in higher education

    Incorporating technology into the learning process has resulted in the development of various new media for lecturers to use in delivering subject matter. Furthermore, the material presented is intended to enable students to develop creative and innovative ideas in higher education vocational majors in makeup and beauty. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective the flipbook-based module is in increasing student creativity in nail art subject at the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Universitas Negeri Padang. This study employs a quantitative and experimental approach (Group Pretest-Posttest Design). Data were collected from thirty respondents using a Likert scale questionnaire and a pre-test and post-test of nail art practice skills. All respondents are students in the Department of Cosmetology and Beauty, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, for the 2021/2022 academic year. All data were then analyzed descriptively and correlated using SPSS 23 software. Overall, the analysis results showed that using flip book-based e-modules could increase students\u27 creativity in nail art subjects. These results can be proven by the effectiveness test of students\u27 creativity, with an average value of 71.9%. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a significant value of 0.05 and a t-score of 7.083\u3e t-table of 2.045. The results of this study imply that it can provide references for education in choosing learning media and strategies for delivering learning materials that are effective in increasing creativity. Furthermore, this can be used as a basis for further development to produce effective media and learning approaches

    Exploring disruptive power: Acceptance of digital technologies in mechanical engineering education among Ghanaian technical university teachers

    The paper examines the effect of perceived ease of use, user acceptance, and quality assurance practices on the acceptance of digital technology among mechanical engineering teachers in Technical Universities in Ghana. The paper adopts a quantitative research approach using a descriptive survey design. A sample of 167 mechanical engineering teachers was selected using stratified and simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire that included demographic information and variables related to digital technology acceptance. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with the aid of SmartPLS 4 software. The study\u27s findings reveal that perceived ease of use, user acceptance, and quality assurance practices significantly and positively influence mechanical engineering teachers\u27 acceptance of digital technology. Specifically, the acceptance of quality assurance practices was found to have the strongest impact on technology acceptance among the three factors examined. The study focused on mechanical engineering teachers in Ghana\u27s Technical universities, limiting the generalizability of the findings to other educational contexts. Future research should consider expanding the sample size and including participants from different educational institutions and other disciplines. This study contributes to the existing literature on digital technology acceptance by examining the specific context of mechanical engineering education in Ghana. The findings also contribute to the broader discourse on digital skills development and closing the digital divide in educational settings

    Development of media animated video to improve learning outcomes of Sunda siger bridal makeup

    The teaching and learning process for cosmetology education students needs to be developed to provide meaningful experiences in the learning process both in theory and practice, as well as being able to provide solutions to the problems found to improve learning outcomes and creativity, one of which is in the Sunda siger bridal makeup learning material. The development model refers to Research and development (R&D) and the Borg & Gall model. The development research results show that video-based learning media exists in the Indonesian bridal makeup course, especially in the Sunda Siger bridal makeup learning material, with an average feasibility level based on the expert judgment of 80.15% declared feasible. A small and wide class trial is carried out with the same score of 80,4% declared eligible. The feasibility results obtained from experts and trials analyzed for data, the acquisition of the control class scores with the results of the pretest 64% and posttest 75.67%, in the experimental class, the value of the pretest was 71.57%, and the posttest was 88.33%, from the results of the use value. This video media is suitable for learning about Sunda siger bridal makeup. The results of the media being accepted or rejected can be seen from the value of the t-test where the learning video media obtained tcount 24.54 and t-table 2,086, with the acquisition of t-count greater than t-table then H1 accepted video media in the development of video media in learning Sunda siger bridal makeup
