    Essential competences contribution of the S2-PTE course in Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta to work competence

    This study aims to determine the essential competencies contribution of each vocational course and engineering course in the curriculum to the competence needs of education, training, and engineering work in the electrical power competencies. The research was carried out using a goal-oriented evaluation approach. The object of this research is to the essential competencies of the electrical engineering education Master Program\u27s courses at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, including engineering and vocational education courses. Data collection used a questionnaire, then analyzed descriptively. Furthermore, it was presented in the form of categorical data and graphs. The research results show that each essential competence contributes 70.0% to electrical education and training jobs. Referring to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards, each essential competency contributes more than 66.7%. Thus it can be concluded that the essential competencies of the electrical engineering education Master Program\u27s courses in Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta have contributed to the electricity sector jobs

    Efforts to increase Perisai Diri athletes\u27 agility, speed, balance and flexibility components through shuttle run, zigzag run, and formation of 8 training method

    The biomotor component is an important factor for an athlete, especially athletes from the Perisai Diri martial arts school, to achieve achievements in a competition. Agility, Speed, Flexibility and Balance are four biomotor components that are very dominantly used in the training process and are often used by martial art athletes in competitions. The aim of this research was to find out shuttle run, zigzag run, and formation of 8 training method influence agility, speed, flexibility, and balance in pencak silat athletes. This research is quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental design of three balanced treatments. The sample in this research was 45 athetes from the 80 total athletes in population that selected by purposive sampling, devided in 3 groups, each group consisting of 15 athletes. Agility, speed, balance, and flexibility obtained with a valid and reliable instrument. The data analysis used in this research is the Wilcoxon test and the Kruskal Wallis test. To measure improvement using different means. The standard significance of sat is p=0.05 (5%). The results of the research prove that there is a significant comparison between shuttle running, zigzag running, zigzag running with a combination of 8 numbers, for agility and speed (p\u3c0.05), shuttle running is useful for improving balance and speed, zig-zag running is useful for improve dexterity and zigzag combines 8 figures which are useful for increasing flexibility. It can be concluded that there were significant differences between alternating training, zigzag running, and figure 8 formation running, especially in agility and speed. The back and forth running training method is useful for increasing balance and speed, the zigzag running training method is useful for increasing agility, and the figure 8 formation running method is useful for increasing flexibility

    Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge-based learning model in Citizenship Education courses

    This study aims to see the readiness of each educator in using knowledge-based learning models of technological pedagogic content in Civics learning. In this case, educators and lecturers play an important role in controlling the learning situation of technology pedagogic content knowledge, researchers consider one of the most effective learning models to be TPACK. In this study, researchers used quantitative research methods to measure the extent to which the learning model influenced knowledge of technological pedagogic content and the readiness of students to carry out learning in the classroom environment. The results of the study show that the TPACK model is very effective in the learning process, especially in Civics subjects, that incorporating TPACK into teacher preparation and professional development programs can lead to improved teaching practices and student learning outcomes. TPACK has become an increasingly important framework in education, as technology continues to play a greater role in teaching and learning

    Exploring the integration of ideological values with artificial intelligence technology: A legal awareness perspective

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology has potential benefits and challenges that the law of awareness must overcome. Behavior contrary to legal norms often appears in AI, which can harm and endanger the nation\u27s life. The low compliance and moral awareness of AI users that is not in line with Pancasila values has led to the emergence of various conflicts in society. This study aims to explore three aspects related to the use of AI. First, students\u27 perceptions of the use of AI. Secondly, the use of AI technology based on Pancasila values; third, efforts to form legal awareness of the use of AI Technology. The study results show that almost all students know and have used AI technology, especially in academic activities. This research was conducted using qualitative methods and a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, distribution of questionnaires, and interviews with 205 students of Sebelas Maret University as respondents. In addition, literature studies and interviews were also conducted with several key informants. Data processing uses the triangulation method, which uses interactive model data analysis from Miles & Huberman. To use AI wisely and follow Pancasila values, students must understand the ethics and laws of using this technology

    The implementation of Geography learning with spatial representation using the discrepancy evaluation model

    This study aims to evaluate the learning process of geography with spatial representation in high school using the Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM) from Provus. Evaluation goes through five stages: design, installation, process, and product, as well as implementation comparison. Respondents were five teachers and 208 students from SMA 1 Srandakan, MAN 2 Yogyakarta, and SMA 1 Pundong in Yogyakarta. The evaluation was carried out in February-July 2021. The focus of the evaluation includes (1) learning design, (2) learning tools, (3) learning implementation, (4) learning outcomes, geographic critical thinking, and (5) implementing learning comparisons. Data were collected through document studies, observations, tests, and questionnaires. Descriptive analysis was used to measure gaps in each stage and efforts to improve them, while experimental quantitative analysis was used to compare learning. The DEM results describe gap variations in stages 1-4. However, in collaborative improvement efforts at stages 1-3, there is an increase in spatial critical thinking skills. The test results at stage 5, learning geography with spatial representations, are more effective for improving students\u27 spatial critical thinking skills than textbook-oriented learning and media images. Recommendations on the results of the evaluation at all stages for organizing geography learning with spatial representation: (1) strengthening understanding and mentoring of the concept of spatial representation and learning design, (2) monitoring and periodic testing of geography learning with spatial representation to improve critical thinking skills in geography

    An evaluation of the level of financial reporting compliance of public schools in Kwazulu-Natal

    The financial management and reporting practices of public schools in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) are a matter of concern. Section 42 of the South African Schools Act (SASA) requires that the Member of the Executive Council (MECs) for Education in KZN develops financial reporting guidelines for the schools. As a result, each province in South Africa has its l financial reporting guidelines that provide a framework for schools to report their financial information accurately and transparently. However, there are concerns about the lack of financial accountability and transparency emanating from improper financial reporting on the parts of the schools. Poor reporting practices of KZN schools may lead to negative consequences such as financial mismanagement, misappropriation of funds, and inability to account for expenditures. As a result, this study examined how public ordinary schools complied with the financial reporting re­quirements set forth by the KZN Provincial Department of Education (PDE). The study used a content analysis method to collect data from 58 schools\u27 yearly financial statements over a two-year period. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the quan­titative data gathered from the financial statements to assess the degree of conformity with KZN PDE financial reporting rules. The findings revealed various instances of public schools failing to follow the rules. The schools\u27 reporting practices were parti­cularly poor since they did not adhere to the reporting standards. The research contri­butes to understanding financial reporting compliance levels among schools in KZN. The study also provides recommendations to improve compliance and promote school financial accountability

    Development of Smart Building Training Kit for Control System Competencies in Vocational High Schools

    The unavailability, lack of updates and inappropriateness of learning media results in low-quality learning outcomes. The right learning media is an important part of the learning process, especially practicum learning in Vocational High School (VHS). The objectives of the research are to obtain: (1) Products in the form of smart building training kits as learning media equipped with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system based on Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for VHS in learning control systems; (2) The feasibility level of the training kit; (3) The effectiveness of the use of training kits. Development research refers to the ADDIE model developed by Branch. The study results are as follows: (1) The product in the form of a training kit consists of a component training kit and a simulator equipped with a job sheet and a manual. (2) The training kit is considered very feasible. The expert assessment of the feasibility of the product is 95.5% (very feasible category). The teacher\u27s user response gave a rating of 95.5% (very feasible category). The user response by graduates gave an assessment of 90.8% (very feasible category). (3) The use of training kits has significant effectiveness on students\u27 learning outcomes based on the results of the Paired Sample T-test and Independent Sample T-test with a sig value (2-tailed) (0.000) \u3c 0.05. It can be concluded that a smart building training kit is an appropriate, very feasible, and effective learning medium for use in learning control systems

    Measuring students\u27 generic skills through national assessment

    This study aims to measure the generic skills (GS) of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students in Indonesia. Respondents who participated in this study were madrasah students scattered in East Java and Central Java as representatives of MAs in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a survey distributed via Google Form. Three dimensions are mentioned in the research instrument for measuring GS: religious moderation, critical and creative thinking skills, and interpersonal skills. Using SPPS version 16 software, a descriptive analysis was employed as the data analysis technique. The results of this study showed that the GS of students with religious moderation indicators obtained the highest average of 54.03% on the Likert scale 4. Critical and creative thinking skills indicators obtained the highest average results, 67.99%, on the Likert scale 4. The indicator of interpersonal skill obtained the highest average of 55.88% on the Likert 4 scale. Hence, it is expected of educational institutions to implement policies to enhance the GS of MA students, particularly in creating a more student-oriented learning model, also known as student-centered learning

    Classification of Organic and Inorganic Waste Types Based on Neural Networks

    Garbage is the residue of unused industrial production and household consumption. In Indonesia, waste is divided into 2 types, namely organic and inorganic waste. The two types of waste can be recycled in diverse ways, so they must be separated. So far, it is often difficult for the community to sort waste. This paper presents the process of recognizing and sorting waste automatically by utilizing Artificial Intelligence technology, especially Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The ANN architecture used in this study consists of 4 layers. The number of neurons in each layer consists of 3 neurons in the input layer, 4 neurons in the hidden layer-1, 4 neurons in the hidden layer-2 and 1 neuron in the output layer. The ANN model that has been designed is trained, so that the best weight and bias model will be obtained, which in turn gives the ANN the ability to be able to sort waste properly. The best weights and biases will then be implanted into the Arduino UNO Microcontroller hardware. In this developed system, the microcontroller is given input obtained from 3 kinds of sensors, namely capacitive proximity, inductive proximity, and photodiode. While the input consists of 2 pieces of organic or in organic waste conditions. From the test results, it was found that the system has 100% training accuracy and 100% test accuracy

    Differences in Software Usability Level Based on User Background

    The development of software must consider usability as one of its key success indicators. Relatively few studies discuss the factors influencing usability, including users\u27 backgrounds. The purpose of this research was to investigate the impact of user background, specifically gender, class (year of college admission), and frequency of use on the rating of usability. This research utilized a descriptive quantitative method with instruments: the usability matrix of the Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ), the System Usability Scale (SUS), the Usability Metric for User Experience (UMUX), and the Net Promoter Score (NPS). The research object was the Learning Management System (LMS) of two state universities in Yogyakarta. Two sets of questionnaire responses were obtained: 305 men and 442 women answered the first time, and 280 men and 584 women answered the second time. Our result shows that the mean value of usability level from CSUQ, SUS, UMUX, and NPS is mostly higher in female than male respondents, in junior to more senior students, and in respondents who use the system more frequently than those who use it less. This trend was consistent, even though the sequence of questionnaire choice order was reversed between the first and second data collection at the two universities. This research hence concluded that, based on gender, women tend to offer a higher rating of usability than men; based on class, the younger generation tends to provide higher ratings of usability than the older generation, and users who use the system more frequently tend to give higher usability rating than those who less use it
